- Overview of the Matrix in Matrix technique after Stevan Kopanja
This technique is helpful whenever you don't have an adjacent tooth to wedge against but it also helpful when you can't get a matrix to seal.
You can use a variety of matrix bands for the outer and inner bands but we especially like the U-bands from Tor VM. The extra flare makes adding an inner matrix a comparative breeze.
You can get the bands here

Very helpful video!
Thank you Incidental for your ongoing support and teachings of new techniques. 💖🥇
I think the matrix retainer has to be placed the opposite way! the slot should be directed towards the cervical/gingival third.
You can do that but we prefer it facing up. Try it maybe. We find It supports the band better 😊
Would this work for the mesial aspect and form a nice contact point using the same set up?
If you don’t have an adjacent tooth this works well mesial or distal.
😊
Great technique!...Where can I found the clamp?
You can get the SG clamp here

I think it’s easier to just use the tor vm saddle matrix to restore this tooth
Hi yes absolutely thats another good option but on deeper cavities it can be difficult to get the seal you need with a saddle or a matrix assembly that can resist the forces of restoration.
This technique can overcome these issues

What is the name and brand of that clamp?

good
Can we use this method for amalgam??
Yes we have in the past. It is more common to carve the amalgam back however. Plus you need a more stable band complex to pack amalgam against.
