Cool old shop, always fun to explore places like that!
Cool to see the equipment people used back in those days.
You never know what you find or who you'll find on the back roads. So cool .very fascinating. Thank you
What a great find. Awesome that he shared it with you! -S
I'm a 77 year old guy watching you tour the 125 year old blacksmith shop while I am in my kitchen staying warm next to my 105 year old "Home Comfort" kitchen cook stove.
Ya gotta love the old things that were made to last!
I recognized most of what was seen but Carlin got me on the rim adjuster device with the chain and hook. I would imagine it was made on the same principle that today's chain binders are made. It is a simple fulcrum that provides leverage.
I thought I knew tools pretty well myself, but I was stumped by that one as well. I’m sure there are many more places like this out there and I wanna see them all!
Yes bake them you needed a tool you made it yourself... sad to see those days are gone. But I do see a good but of men getting into Black Smithing😇😁
Man that’s awesome!!
Agreed.
That was cool.
Thanks man!
Never seen a hay cutter like that, my grandpa always used a mowing scythe to cut the fields for hay. He was from Wolf Creek Tennessee and they moved to Washington state for the logging industry as he was a logger most of his life.😁
So neat to see what was used for tools a long time ago .love the truck
Well if you’re going to be chopped into pieces inside someone’s murder barn, at least you are going out in style in that amazing shirt. Hahaha! Great video as always!!
Man I'm a modern-day blacksmith! I'd like to buy some of his tools!
Wow. I would like to have seen the wood shop too. It takes me back to when I was a kid.
There was more to see on the property but we ran out of time. I’ll be visiting Carlon sometime in the future and will show more then. Thanks for watching!
@@DraysWorld thanks I'll be watching.
That was so awesome!!!!!
Brings back memory's thank you sir.
Today I started looking for an antique washer ringer. I hope to one one then I'll be able to work on it and not run out and spend another 4 or 500.00 on something that will break eight after warranty lol
I love all the old stuff. Thanks for watching!
Cool stuff man good on ya for taking an interest in the old ways. He was a good ol boy for sure, loved his truck. One minor constructive critique... when in a smithy with a video camera, one must get up close footage of the anvil and vises!
Good suggestion. Next opportunity I get I’ll throw in some of those up close shots of the old stuff. Thanks for watching!
Very interesting video, the one thing I learned from watching this is I knew what every tool and utensil was or what it was used for. I even knew about the corncob. I guess I must be getting old.
Plenty of old barns and sheds like that in Europe.
I’d love to see those one day. Thanks for watching!
Good Video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for watching!
I love this stuff. But my wife…. she would say junk! Haha
I could have explored that barn for hours!
It’s called a single tree.
So many places like that are gone now.
I'm surprised you didn't hear deliverance banjo music playing down the street
What kind of anvil is that? I have not ever seen one like it. Certainly not a conventional London pattern or anything. I did not see a horn or hardy hole or anything that looked like an anvil. Is this something specific to wagon wheels? I would love to know more.
Clean it up get that stuff out of the way so you can actually see the shop
