I like to play the quizzes on Seterra, idk if it would suit you but it's definitely a good resource as it gives you the divisions in a random order and you can choose to type out the name or place the name on the map. Idk though I find it useful even just to help learn.
Next provinces of spain? Not the autonomous communities (17) but the provinces (50+) Yes, the progress map in plonk it would make it easier to watch i think
Okay so first of all props for taking our comments to heart, AND providing us with a direct comparison between the two. Now the way I'd imagine it is the quality of life improvement of the discord bot highly depends on the implementation. Speaking as someone who has written bots for Discord, as well as done image editing via code: A percentage number or progress bar would be easy to implement, and gives something to hold on to, and to cheer for when milestones are hit. A progress MAP as you mentioned in the video would be even better, as it almost completely levels the playing field with regards to comparisons to Jetpunk, but also quite a bit more elaborate to implement. The last downside would be that because of the continuous scrolling, the map will always be moving. So a third step would be having a map that doesn't move (for example by constantly updating a local file), but that's even more difficult to set up. Now touching briefly on the subject you mentioned of impressive vs entertaining, indeed we understand that the discord bot is more challenging, and therefore more impressive. Jetpunk is only more entertaining until the discord bot gets updated, if it does. (is that open source btw?), but for an estimated 4 hour session, I think the entertainment value should not be underestimated. That being said, it's also very satisfying seeing all the names properly spelled out rather than Jetpunks auto-detector. I'd currently vote for Jetpunk, but as we have seen from this video, nothing prevents you from doing both, maybe after the bot had some updates?
I like the Plonkit format because I can actually learn something. Either way, that was super impressive, even more so with the right accents and pronunciation. Thanks Jake!
Good stuff. Any video that has you speaking French is a good one in my book 😊 If we’re talking about a super long video with all the countries in street view I think the quicker Jetpunk version is preferable. I like Jet Punk better as a viewer but I also understand your reasons
Very impressive as always. Curious to know if you're fluent in French and if you are, where did you learn? I'm from Montréal so it's fun to hear you pronounce all these departments correctly lol
@@albertosour I don’t think I’d call myself fluent anymore since it’s been many years since I spoke it regularly, but I went to bilingual school for most of my childhood and while I’ve forgotten a lot of vocabulary, I can still pronounce things well
I prefer JetPunk but please a bit slower!! I can’t see what you’re typing on the short ones, and sometimes you aren’t saying them, so I don’t know what some are! Its wild that you have this sheer amount of info in your head
may i suggest the ultimate challenge of learning arrondissements? There are 300+, yes, but since they are named after cities instead of rivers and mountains you actually get a lot of geoguessr knowledge from that
Personally I quite enjoy both formats. Reckon most casual viewers and viewers who might watch these as their first video of yours would prefer the more graphical nature of the Jetpunk quiz though, so that might be worth considering in your #FightAgainstTheAlgorithm
plonk it format is better for the all geoguessr countries version imo. It makes it less obvious which countries are included and excluded from the quiz which i believe is better
I just wished someone made another version of the jetpunk quiz but with stricter spelling were you need to actually write the full correct spelling and put spaces between like on the plonk it server. And maybe even create another version of the quiz where it randomizes the subdivisions that you need to get just like plonk it. Because visually jet punk is better to watch in my opinion
Definitely prefer the jetpunk version, speaking from someone who likes to see the progress being made through colour changes. Will absolutely watch the big video through jetpunk way of ticking off the list
Not a progress Map, because that makes it too easy - at the end you’re just filling in a few remaining blanks - but a progress BAR would be very helpful. From the left it can fill up with correct answers as a green bar and on the right incorrect as a red bar.
Another thing about the plonkit quiz - as you have your face and the entire page there, and I’m watching on my phone - the map is like 1/6 of the area of my phone screen - too small to see. So I try to adjust a bit, but still left with unused real estate when I want to see the map, the entry window and your face. Please try to align this a bit better and cut out any remaining empty space in the edit.
@@jakelyonsgeo it’s true tho. Even my generation, born in the 60s, didn’t have to learn them at school like our parents did. As a result I’m better at countries I traveled around in than at France. But I’ll second the petition to change that name to Loire-et-Loir!
Honestly I prefer the Jetpunk quizzes. They give a better feeling of progress and it's just satisfying to see the map slowly turn green.
This ^
You are so damn right

Love your videos, your memorization is impressive. I want to learn the subdivisions of Russia

plonkit seems more satisfying to complete because it appears to be more challenging but jetpunk is better visually

Rly random but u and bloom are doing such a great job casting!Keep it up!
Your accent is quite impressive, you speak like a native.

a good mix of plonkit's difficulty and jetpunk's visual appeal would be seterra (at least for the limited quizzes they feature)
I prefer JetPunk but please a bit slower!! I can’t see what you’re typing on the short ones, and sometimes you aren’t saying them, so I don’t know what some are!

Tarn is pronounced that way, yes, and you do say the T in Lot. Hello from Toulouse !
I prefer plonkit, because it's more about knowing where they are rather than just listing names
plonk it format is better for the all geoguessr countries version imo. It makes it less obvious which countries are included and excluded from the quiz which i believe is better
My vote is for jetpunk

I prefer the jetpunk vids, for the exact reasons you said.
how do you memorize all of this? Is there any kind of method?
I personally prefer jetpunk. It has a better sense of progression rather than one by one with no indicator other than the number going up.
Definitely prefer the jetpunk version, speaking from someone who likes to see the progress being made through colour changes. Will absolutely watch the big video through jetpunk way of ticking off the list
Damn as a french I can maybe place like 20 of those, i'm ashamed

gg. I'm not too far from knowing all of these.
Your brain is second to none
A bit disappointed you didn't say "Part Deux"
The Jetpunk quizzes are less interesting to me since I can't even parse the names you're typing quickly enough.
Yay!
Better than 99,99% of French people
@@mikachou72123 idk about that haha

my comment is answered, woohoo!!
