- How to Solder a 22k Rose Gold Bezel Setting -If you haven't tried out our new high karat fusible gold alloys, you can see here for yourself how easy they are to solder. We will solder together a bezel setting for a faceted gemstone and you can see how the soldering techniques are the same as soldering bezel settings in silver or other gold alloys. Hi, how would someone learn to do this? Amazing!
What is the ratio of boric acid to alcohol you use? I was told to use 50/50, but after burning off the alcohol mine is much more grainy than yours. I LOVE spinels! They have such a distinct beautiful smokey look to them. Thank you Jeanette for all you post.
It should work fine regardless. :) I do notice that even though I keep my jar tightly closed, I do have to top off the alcohol now and then to keep the ratio approximately correct. I ADORE Spinels, too! You are very welcome and thank you for giving me feedback.
Beautiful! And I have always heard that Rose Gold Is Hard to Work With! So...will there be an inner bezel to be made?
Yes, we made an inner bezel of 26 gauge fine silver. :)
Pink gold alloys can be tricky, but with a few precautions, it is very doable. :)
What gauge back plate? If I go too thin, it melts!
For something small like this, we used 26 gauge sheet, just like the bezel. :)
