    I can't thank you enough for your deep library of helpful videos. A friend asked me to make a candle snuffer for them, and this video showed me exactly how to do it. Forging that cone to come out even was hard, but I managed and ended up with a lovely gift. And then I treated myself by ordering a cone mandrel to make the next one easier ;)

    The chain link swivel works a lot better than I thought it would, I played with a solid one many years ago. Also, coming from a plumbing/ HVAC background I would have soldered the edges of the cone together, thinking it needed to be airtight; but you proved that just closely butting them was good enough. Good Job.

    Thank you for persisting with the metric measurements.
    I play a head game with myself trying to convert the measures before you can tell us.
    Sometimes I get closer than others.
    I challenge others to do the same and try to become multilingual.

    Just want to mention I really appreciate that you provide us with the metric dimensions. And don't worry about some mess ups, if you're holding a short piece in your hands, we know you ment 20cm and not 2 meter ;) .

    lol must have seen my suggestion on Christ centered ironworks, as a joke, but yea why not make a meas to choke the candle out, its a practical gift, and the hammering job was fairly even better then I have even seen in craft stores over the years, and glad it was not just a pyramid shape like you see in europe, I think those are ugly, though those are probably over a century old or more they have on the wood poles, probably put out 10 of thousands of candles with them like in the great churches of Rome Italy or in France,
    but I guess what ever removes the oxygen from the air, I still like to blow them out myself much more fun unless its a huge candle then I say the tribe has spoken like on survivor heh before using one of these, or occasional in church when I help out
    though a word about the use, you want to hover it just above the top of the candle you dont want it to set on a flat candle you crush the wick down into the wax and its going to burn unevenly, soo many kids at church will use the bell to stomp the candle out and it messes the candle up if you just hover it ove the wick it will go out wait till you see smoke and slowly lift and that way you dont get the smoke, a tip from a former altar server.

    Hey John just a quick question. Now high is the table of your forge table?

    • @BlackBearForge
      @BlackBearForge  5 лет назад +1

      I think its 32". But more importantly its the same as my anvil so a bar on either can rest on the other if needed

  • @bentoombs
    @bentoombs 5 лет назад

    Or... you could blow the candle out. 🤔🤣🤣lmao Great project. Alot of different skills needed👍👍 ps. How hard are you blowing if your blowing wax around the room? HAHAHA I'd say ease back a little bit. 😂🤣🤣

    • @BlackBearForge
      @BlackBearForge  5 лет назад +2

      But you have to have some form of justification for making the snuffer, even if its a bit of a stretch 😜
