Had a house with a second floor open living/eating/sleeping area that looked over treetops to the Holly Sugar building in the Springs. Blasted this lp almost every evening. ‘Adios a la Pasada’ is must hear, essential listening for anyone who loves CinemaScope big drumming.😘. Hats off for Mr. Bruford.
I bought this album, Feels Good To Me, in 1976 as it came out. I was 16 and a huge fan of Yes, King Crimson, UK etc. and, guess what: I still listen to it at least a dozen times a year... Just couldn't imagine my life without it!
Some of the most tasteful fusion keyboard playing ever heard here from Dave Stewart. Right from the eerie intro onwards, he creates all the necessary atmosphere and texture throughout, supporting the other musical parts instead of interjecting self-indulgent noodling like other prog/fusion keyboard players one could mention. The personnel here (Bruford, Holdsworth, Stewart, Peacock, Berlin) are truly an all-star line up in perfect chemistry.

My drum tea cher laid this on me in 1980 I think. I didn't really get it. This is the first time I have heard this in 42 years. But I remembered the hook. Great work here!
there is no saxophone in this song , it is all alan holdsworth making his guitar sound like a saxophone the funny thing you probably could get someone to believe that is a sax because you can't hear alan picking the strings.
+maniq minah The vocal track was added after the band was mix, it's obvious she's singing on a separate track. The vocals should have been mixed with the all the tracks. Soundss like the mixing got better as the song progressed! Still one of the best albums from that era.
You may be able to buy his guitar, his pedals, study his solos, videos, and lectures but you will never, ever, EVER match the creative genius that is Allan Holdsworth. Forever and ever. Amen. 😉
@@Heaven-dy9lj I don't think nobody can or will. There are already people who are on RUclips who can play exactly like him. Sound exactly like him. But you will never ever be able to provide the content of his genius. That can only come from one person. AI will never be able to do that.

You don't mean the caped crusader do you? He has a lovely personality regardless ; )
For me it's more ethereal than eerie.
3:54-5:40...the buildup, tension and release, and Holdsworth's angular lines soaring over the top make this an all-time fusion highlight.

Life changing this song was for this entreprenuer at 24 yrs of age. One of my all time faves from Mr Bill Bruford and Ann Peacock. Love It !!
Back to the beginning... Annette...
The Holdsworth solo on this one is one of my fav solo's of all time.

- agree.
Definitely agree the first solo is so angular, total brilliance !
Got this on vinyl when i was a kid, they say you can't take it with you friggin' shame what a treasure this one is. 🔐🔒🔓
This is one of my desert island records. Epic, profound stuff.
My top ten island discs still includes Feels Good…and One of a Kind. I get it.
Annette Peacock!
Annette ..que más da
Annette ...peacock ...genius
it was ONLY '76 and Allan Holdswoth played this solo: Superb!!!!!!!!! Allan(r.i.p.) still the top!!!!!
he just left Soft Machine...superb!
I heard Allan Holdsworth at a concert with Ponty in the 1970's. All I remember was saying to my friend, listen to that guitar!

I've always loved the voice on this, sounds very obscure, mysterious and a little bit mechanical, just like the music, great combination! :)
Her name is Annette Peacock.
Alan Holdsworth creates his own song withing the song.
yup, even the greats like Scott Henderson have stated this in interviews.
Song within a song is the name of a camel song

Isn't Annette Peacock's voice incredible?
Dachi Khazalia Excellent to see the lyrics ! ‘ No use making the same mistakes for ever and ever amen...’
Epic!!!!

Gotta love Annette Peacock's vocals.
They're way too loud in my opinion. 🤷♂
Peacock and Holdsworth came in from another planet to do this track!
To bad it wasn't 60 min longer AH was just warming up
Unique song, terrific vocals! Thank you for posting.
Awesome!!!
Haven`t heard this in more than 20 years
Thanx!!!
Lighten up the cross there a long journey ahead ....wisdom
Good blend of musicien and signer Who love what hé do
J adore cette chanteuse ok elle apporte une dimension que des plus spécial
Love Annette Peacock had more than one of her solo albums . Perfect vocalist for this stuff
So fucking good. Everything on point
questo album è senza dubbio una pietra miliare posta in quegli anni magici in cui alcuni dei scesero dall'olimpo e cominciarono a suonare
non avrei trovato parole migliori per descrivere questa band...
This song really needs a remaster
I hope you mean a remaster? I'd hate to see this genius work be diluted with some asshat techno remix.
@@wxyzxdll yes I meant remaster
It sounds exactly as the musicians intended.
There is a remix made back in 2017 (I think). It sounds great!

great song
grande disco lo studiavamo insieme a tonino Ciliberto Ottimo batterista di portici (1979)
seems like the vocals are very unusually panned, sounding twice as loud as the rest of the track?
maniq minah agreed, I thought it was an ad xD

Her vocals being so prominent in the mix on this track is perfect. I wish I could boost her vocals on many of her solo album tracks.
You may be able to buy his guitar, his pedals, study his solos, videos, and lectures but you will never, ever, EVER match the creative genius that is Allan Holdsworth.

Agreed!
Obama can do it! racist!
That's it in a nutshell. It's not only his technical skill but his musical brain. Nobody touches Holdsworth, it'll be a very long time.

Je
The worst thing about this album is the vocals. In fact, it's amazing that she made it on the final album.
Is it how she sung the notes? or the notes that were sung - because I bet Bill wrote the whole vocal melody.
The vast majority of us disagree with you.
