      To be fair, it's the ref's job to stop the fight. I've seen fighters let up when they think the fight is over and the ref DOESN'T stop it... and then their opponent recovers a bit and continues to fight. Competitively, it makes sense to go until the ref stops you, but in some cases where you see one fighter get ragdolled or they're clearly out it makes sense to stop even before the ref ends the fight.

    Before I started competing I thought striking after the opponent was unconscious was necessary to secure the victory. However after actually experiencing someone at my mercy unable to defend themselves it changed my perspective, self control is the perfect way of describing it. Fighting is hectic and intense and sometimes you can't even remember bits and parts of it, your body just takes over. But when your mind and body are in sync things slow down and you can make better decisions.

    • @DjDolHaus86
      @DjDolHaus86 2 года назад +30

      I can completely understand the mentality of not stopping until the ref tells you to stop and mistakes are of course going to happen in the heat of battle but I hate to see it happen. Has it been 'known'? It can, but in the same way a punch to the head can kill someone. It is exceptionally rare, pretty much impossible to replicate outside of a computer simulation, and takes more force over a shorter period of time than 99% of people can do (Including fighters). So yea, it’s possible, but if anyone says they can reliably do it they are lying. Spaz.
