Nothing is more powerful than a fighter with compassion. Looks very professional also.

Really? Then I guess every Boxer in history has the most magical self control. Cowards and punks hit a downed opponent. Mike Tyson bit a mans ear off but still never hit a downed opponent. It takes a brain and a good person. Not a coward desperate to win out of fear.

It's the least to restrain yourself from throwing an illegal kick. I almost judge her for even winding up
it got a edited replay? lol
Would probably have broken her foot or shin if she went through with that kick.
It’s illegal to kick someone on the ground in mma rules so it’s normal
@@baptistepont3836 I've been told, that knees to the had on grounded opponents isn't illegal at ONE. Don't know if it's all kicks or just knees
I understand that there is adrenaline coursing through your veins when you are in combat, and it's hard to stop yourself in the flow of aggression, but I do hate it when fighters (especially in MMA) keep raining punches on an opponent who is clearly out of action. This is the discipline I like to see.
To be fair, it's the ref's job to stop the fight. I've seen fighters let up when they think the fight is over and the ref DOESN'T stop it... and then their opponent recovers a bit and continues to fight. Competitively, it makes sense to go until the ref stops you, but in some cases where you see one fighter get ragdolled or they're clearly out it makes sense to stop even before the ref ends the fight.
@@danlorett2184 Yes, it must be very hard to judge in the heat of the moment. If you've ever shown mercy to someone who wasn't as hurt as they appeared and came back at you, you'd probably not take that risk again.
Masvidal vs Ben Askrin
Its even worse when you find out there's audiences that prefer that crap. Awful, You can seriously fuck someone up for life when you bash em after they are out for the count.
If I was a fighter I would not do this. Let's say the ref doesn't flag, the other fighter gets up, then beats you. Fight till the ref stops
Before I started competing I thought striking after the opponent was unconscious was necessary to secure the victory. However after actually experiencing someone at my mercy unable to defend themselves it changed my perspective, self control is the perfect way of describing it. Fighting is hectic and intense and sometimes you can't even remember bits and parts of it, your body just takes over. But when your mind and body are in sync things slow down and you can make better decisions.
I can completely understand the mentality of not stopping until the ref tells you to stop and mistakes are of course going to happen in the heat of battle but I hate to see it happen. I guess this is why I prefer to watch boxing over MMA, due to the stand up nature of the fighting you don't often get a situation where you're landing blows on a defenceless opponent
Anyone that has fought for real knows that feeling of a clean hit that ends the fight. You don't need a ref to tell you it's over, you felt it connect.
Perfect words. This is a genious comment
Thats only in street fights bro make sure the fool is down... not in competitive fights
@@rockk9753 I agree
Incredibly respectable. To be in the heat of the moment, yet still being aware enough to know when to call it quits... that is a true fighter.
For those who don't realize, at 50 seconds she waved it off because she knew something wasn't right. Then the other fighter proceeds to beg the ref to get medics in. Ref didn't realize it, but ole girl on the ground was having a seizure. Why she called it quits. The love and worry shown for her opponent is unreal. Compassion exists no matter how brutal the sport
That spoke volumes about her character to me. So much respect!
@@rufushughes4331 it's incredible for sure. The only reason I remember is 1, having watched the fight, and 2, watched a video that covered close calls in the cage!
It reminds me of when Lawrence Taylor breaks Joe Theisman's leg. He frantically waves for help to come even more than Theisman's own teammates. He puts his hands on his head like he's really distressed about what he just accidentally did to him. That's real sportsmanship and even though the injury was gruesome, I kind of love watching that clip because Taylor's response to it was absolutely wholesome.
@@TalkingHands308 although that's just right before my time, as a lover of the hardest hitters in the NFL, Lawrence Taylor was a machine. I'll have to check that out and see. Nice to see true humanity

What is so cool about these MMA fights is that these fighters are SOOO locked into eachother's body language. That and the competitive mental games they play are so so finely tuned that they can immediately tell when their opponent has gone limp and can't fight in a fraction of a second. It's so impressive.
Excellent point, Chandler McCoy. I think about this a lot.

The fighter at 2:40 was really impressive. You could see the split second change in intensity. This was my favorite part of martial arts. You'd meet these kinds of people at tournaments and the camraderie was so potent. Everyone just wanted to improve and had nothing to prove
Nice one, 2:20 is my favorite

@@cosmicseaweed1990 oh nice I didn't know that! Good control nonetheless. Good to know when your opponent is donezo

KABING KABOSH
KABING KABOSH!!!
2:00 great action from the referee!!
I truly appreciate when athletes like this know when to stop inflicting damage to an opponent. I know some people really deserve to get their asses stomped, but when you’ve got an obviously unconscious opponent who is completely unable to defend themselves, the better person recognizes it and stops swinging/choking/smashing.
This is why fighting in the right environment is good and with the right people... all it takes is a street fight and as soon as someone starts to ground n pound they don't stop like its an achievement to beat someone up that can't defend themselves... its just as bad as beating up a child
Especially during a tournament, recognizing that situation can be very difficult when one's sole purpose is to win. Glad these fighters had the disciplined restraint!
2:12 what a beautiful combo. Never knew this guy but with this he got my attention 👌🏻
So fast with it too!
Yup, had to rewatch this one a couple times. This man's knee
He's a filipino dude a badass one
i can't tell if the ko was from the punch or the kick
The best part is, he landed his last punch on the ground knowing his enemy is knocked out already
There is great honor in showing your opponent empathy and compassion. Real class. 💯
so much respect for fighters like them.
1:34 The way he grabbed his chest I legit thought he was having a heart attack. Seriously a punch like that to the chest has been known to cause an irregular heartbeat or stop the heart all together.
Yeah that punch was straight to the solar plexus, which in layman's terms, is a critical hit. he was gonna go down, hard
That shot was one that knocks the breath out of you.
Has it been 'known'? It can, but in the same way a punch to the head can kill someone. It is exceptionally rare, pretty much impossible to replicate outside of a computer simulation, and takes more force over a shorter period of time than 99% of people can do (Including fighters). So yea, it’s possible, but if anyone says they can reliably do it they are lying. Spaz.
Spontaneous pneumotoraks for sure
Yes, it is called comottio cordis
These are fighters in the ring that appreciate MMA as a form of art! Totally respects for this heros!
2:50 they could start another fight there🤣🤣
In other words: nothing looks more proffesional than a humble fighter ✌🏻
There's nothing that makes me smile more than a true athlete showing good sportsmanship and empathy for the competition.
Serious respect to these fighters who, even in the heat of the moment, knew when enough was enough.
that big smile at the end was so wholesome
I respect everyone of these fighters right here. They knew when their opponent couldn't continue and didn't go in for the kill. Most UFC fighters can learn something from this. Compassion goes a long way.
Honestly I think they should start fining people that keep going when someone is clearly out. Just unnecessary sometimes
1:05 *Girl gets almost knocked out*
Ref: gets stage fright.
0:55 most savage K.O I've ever seen
Yh. My guy slumped

You have seen very few then

I have great respect for these fighters. In the heat of the moment and still able to have such control, true measure of one’s character.
A truly trained fighter knows when he hits that k.o. button in the jaw. These guys knew and showed control. Props to these men and women.
I absolutely love when fighters hold back like that after recognising the fight is over. They earn so much respect.
These fighters showed a great sportsmanship.
I can't help but have tremendous admiration and respect for such self control. That said, it's not over til the ref stops it and I'm sure we've all seen it go the other way(ref doesn't call a stoppage and the fighter regains his wits in 3 secs.) But the majority of these are devastating KO's, great class shown. 💪🏼🇦🇺
Mad respect to these Warriors
the last one makes me so happy, its like when two friends had an argument but then they remembered they are still best friends
Insane respect for those fighters. This is also some kind of a risk to take for them, as they are not sure at the time the ref will stop the fight. Truly great people.
Nothing but respect to these incredible fighters. Keeping it clean, respectful and showing great sportsmanship.
2:45 Friendlity
Friendship. Friendship? Again?
That's the hallmark of a great fighter in the SPORT of MMA -- I.e., the ability to switch off the killer instinct when appropriate
Some of them are just quick reaction from the ref, imagine if this is Herb dean lol
He helped Connor proving himself
Or Mario Yamasaki 😅
Steve Mazagatti entered the chat.
Not enough people know about Steve Mazzagatti it seems, he was 10× worse than Mario, he literally never trained a day in his life, he almost got many fighters killed
Dude hop off herb nutz, half the refs you just seen wasn't event quick enough, and seeing your pf i wonder do you like the sport or just being a sad karen and just complain about refs
I was taught a true fighter is someone who has self control. The awareness, understanding and sensibility to know when an opponent is done shows remarkable skill. It also means they have their pride in check. High regards to each of these fighters.
That last clip was wholesome af! Great sportsmanship from both guys!
the girl at 0:45 felt bad. she was so concerned. also how she looks at her opponent going down, in the replay. looks like maybe its no sport for her. shes to sweet.

I learned that if your name is Irene then your going to have a good night.
1:42 that punch took a second to register😂
Solar Plexus Strike... it's devastating but it takes your brain a bit to react to the damage
In this sport everybody is going "in for the kill". But you dont want your oponent to get seriously hurt. If so, you never was a sportsman.
2:40 damn, this kick was gonna hurt really bad. Glad she stopped haha
Pretty sure it would've disqualified her lol
I mean, was that not mma? Why did they stop, she was more than able to defend herself
@@dalium4085 it's typically pretty frowned upon to kick someone that is currently below waist high on you. You can really mess someone up by doing that. So even though she wasn't out, she was in a compromised enough position that aborting the kick was the only right call. The goal is to win the fight, not kill or maim them.

I've got so much more respect for a fighter that knows when to stop than any other type of fighter.
I love watching ONE for the amazing displays of sportsmanship and quality refereeing. Not to mention the exceptional fighters.
They're people who actually ENJOY to fight.
MAD respect to that second fighter showing gratitude after KO-ing his opponent
1:50 ref with the cool slide
That right there is true sportsmanship and respect.
Love seeing restraint. Absolutely love it. Makes me respect the fighter worlds more and when you think about it if the professionals aren’t showing compassion then who will? You see people getting knocked out cold on the street and then being pounded in the head with kicks and punches on concrete end up dying. I can’t stand seeing fighters lunge down at a KO’d opponent with a giant right hook to clip them on the jaw. Like why tf?
Much love and respect for these warriors. 🙏🏼 It doesn’t take any guts to continue striking a downed opponent nor should any glory be given.
Empathy is a good trait....even as a fighter.
In my opinion there's two types of fighters. The ones that can't control their agression and if they don't unleash it out in the ring, they get in trouble in society and the ones with a balanced personality that love the arts and see fighting as a true sport. The latter tend to end up in places where they train (youthful) people to get resiliant and develop self worth. Great video!
or maybe some fighters are literally trained to go until the bell ... in literally every sport one of the biggest rules is it aint over till it's over. self control is admirable but drop the idiotic narrative that people who go until they're stopped have anger issues lmfao
@@srgetem Maybe you get me wrong here. I don't mind a fighter who only reacts to the bell, but I admire a fighter who's in control and stays in touch with his opponent. But then again, we might have a different view on fighting. All good.
1:12 Kinda sketchy how the ref dove into the dude’s knee. I’m not saying I think he was intentionally trying to hurt the guy, but it just seems like an unsafe way to break up the fighters.
Its maybe cause he though the guy was gonna go for a body shot so he threw his body to block it.
Unfoetunately that is the job of the referees, after they pass judgement of the fight being over. They will protect the downed fighter by any means necessary
Respect to these guys for having an actual heart instead of mindlessly beating someone that clearly is knocked out already ✊🏾
The annoucer shouting "the big kaboosh" and "its goodnight irene" actually every time doesnt get old to anyone else?
Pretty much instantly, I cannot imagine watching an entire fight card whilst having to listen to him.
Honestly this is why I watch MMA after never being a "sports guy". there's something about the human aspect that really suits our time in history.
One of my favorite quotes from Ryu (Street Fighter) is "the answer lies in the heart of battle". Generally meaning fighting is a very intimate sport. Its always 1 on 1
The referee's work is something else man, how fast some of them react is so amazing and on point 🔥

They go for the kill, but when its over, it over.. nice...
but dont forget... sometimes its super necessary ;-) but karma will get you
Rodtang is perfect example of that. Beast when the bell rings, but when its over he is on his knees showing respect to his opponent
@@SebaCufer Thai fighters in general seem to have a very respectful way of treating their opponents. Very good fighting culture.

They fight clean and with respect.
Unlike the fighters in the UFC who talked too much and boasted their fraud skill.
The power and presition on that 1:35 body shot was absolutely perfect.
