When she said she had a stroke. Now I understand the behaviour and memory issues
She should never have been employed to look after another person, considering she had not recovered from her own medical episode.
My sister had a stroke 17 years ago at age 52, and it took a Very long time for her to learn to speak and walk again. She is disabled and now uses a fabulous wheelchair but can walk short distances.
Her employer was fantastic and held her job for her. They also paid her while she was in recovery. She was eventually able to go back to her job part-time but retired after a couple of years.
Apart from her appearing to be a scatterbrain (and there havebeenquite a few on JJ), this lady is lucky she has no apparent disabilities as a result of her stroke.
I actually feel a little bit bad for the defendant. Obviously the stroke did a little more damage than it seems. They dropped her pay $200 a week!! That’s wild, no where else would do that. They should’ve just fired her instead. If they couldn’t afford to pay her adequately, they should’ve never given her a loan for the car. I’m amazed that she accepted such a disgusting pay cut.
She accepted due to her stroke. She's cognitively impaired unfortunately.
ok as frustrating as the defendant is...her having a stroke explains her behavior. maybe she shouldn't be defending herself

Trying to keep working after a stroke was obviously not a good choice for her cognitive function
She might not realize it. There can be big gaps in reasoning for a while. Hope she had access to a lot of therapy
@@RocLobo358 that's the saddest part about strokes is how debilitating they are despite our brains thinking everything is JUST FINE
She also has lupus which can significantly impact memory and cognitive functioning in some people.
I'm not convinced she had a stroke.
If she did she's in no position to be a caregiver!!! Stress can exacerbate her symptoms. Even bring about a more severe stroke. Maybe shouldn't be driving either..

I think the stoke did have some effects on her and the weekly pay was definitely not enough :/ I honestly feel for her. & yes I know she owes the money

I'm already EXTREMELY annoyed with the defendant bcuz of her "Mhmm mhmm" mumbles of acknowledgement!!😤🤬 I'm surprised JJ hasn't corrected her on it yet!?! 😆
I would not have done the care taking for $600 a week. Minimum $1000 a week. If they need someone to take care of their father, one needs to get the federal assistance available and pay someone that money plus some to do such an important job or move their father into their own home and sell that house that he lives in.

Annoying but very confused and polite lady. I dont think you should be mean to her though. It reminds me of the young woman Judge Judy was so sure that she was on something, they tested her and it turned out she was sober, she had a condition that killed her a couple years later.

Ugh irritates me so much when JJ is mean to someone who has medical issues.
The defendant might not be the brightest tunes shed but the baldhead dude is annoying the hell on me with his exaggerated movements and he just seems just dumb based off of his childish reactions
It’s not that she’s not bright. A cva messes up cognitive functioning. She needs accommodations to continue working. I’m a SLP with a masters degree but I’m going through chemo and chemo brain fog is real but it has nothing to do with my smarts.
