Hey Brian, I love that you talk about the classic older movies and way you describe the movies, too many other media channels talk about newer movies, me not given two bits about Wonder Woman 1984 I'm mostly a old school movie guy do to my age and the movies and actors I grew up with. appreciate you and your hard work.
Thank you so much! Yeah I get that there are many viewers who may not Be as interestedly older cinema but I love it a lot so I’m going to keep on bringing up older titles when I can. Glad you’ll enjoy that !
P.s. sorry for the "doubled" comment there. Looked like it hadn't gone through, so I thought I'd better re-send. Alas, now I look like Johnny Two-Times. But yes, "Long Weekend" Have been wanting to say that I really enjoy your channel and I appreciate the informative, understated approach. First saw something when you and your daughter did one. And I loved that because I used to do the same thing with our daughter, taking her to video stores in the 90s, renting horror films, etc. Then I started making up "Horror tests" to hone her knowledge. She ended up knowing everything and showing off to her friends as a young teen. This is all God's work that we do, my friend 😎 Marc
@@JustTheDiscs Hey, Brian. Yeah, the "horror tests" were lot of fun for both of us back then. I loved making them and she loved getting the answers right! This was when she was between maybe 7-10. Honed her knowledge real good and she became the "it girl" in her young teens, when it came to cool movie facts with her friends. Knowing things not only about popular flicks, but rare ones too. We'd also do Friday night double features for her and her friends. Good times. Fun years. Raven seems to have a great, smart and entertaining personality, so I know you guys would have a great time with this kind of thing as well.
Long Weekend (1978). I think that's the "animals attack" film you were trying to think of. Synapse released it on DVD years ago, and a BD more recently. Marc
I've picked up an even dozen Olive titles from HB over the last few months since bunches started showing up in January, all but one of which were blind buys. Just can't beat those prices. The one I'd seen, with my being in the midst of a chronological John Cassavetes deep dive is TOO LATE BLUES. I still have a few more in my wish list, one of which is STRANGER AT MY DOOR (when I tried to order previously, it was out of stock) but I really ought to lay off this month. I've been buying a lot lately, and my unwatched pile is sky high. For the curious, here are the others I bought: Appointment With Crime Blanche Blast-Off Greed in the Sun It's In the Bag Men in War Monsieur Gangster Taxi for Tobruk That's My Man The Brain The Red Squirrel
You got me hooked on Hamilton Books. I just got my second box of Blu-rays last night. This time I got Child's Play (Lumet), Taxi Driver (Steelbook), The Karate Kid (Steelbook), Goodfellas, Escape from New York, Office Space, Pray for Death (Arrow), and a double feature with Watchmen Director's Cut and Green lantern, which I mainly bought for the Watchmen DC. I got all of that of around $35. Crazy
Hey, Hamilton Books is a nice spot and nice haul too. I agree with you about Glenn Ford and piranhas. I was lucky enough to score some Olive Films DVDs from a bunch of trips to Dollar Tree. Can you tell anything about: The 7th Day (04), The Great Spy Chase (63) or Wim Wenders' The End of Violence (97)? Thanks as always!

Wow. What a great deal!
Pretty addictive once you start checking back regularly!
Thanks for pointing out some really interesting looking titles at great prices. I purchased most of them, but a few I wanted are already gone.
Glad you could grab some of them! Happy to Spotlight
Olive signature is so underrated. I have their copy of Johnny Guitar and it looks amazing and has so many good special features.
Yeah I hope they keep coming out with the olive signature discs. Great series
Love your show Brian, thanks for helping me discover this site! I just picked up Phone Booth, Borgman, The Final Member and Pray for Death myself.
Thanks so much! Happy to point you in their direction! Highly addictive site!

Thanks Marc! I love the idea of horror tests and may have to try something like that with my daughter at some point - thank you for sharing!

A William Castle western!?!?!? That's something I did not know about. Thanks for the enlightenment!!
My pleasure! The novelty of that alone was enough to get me to buy
