The bumper issues on Xbox one controllers are usually related to dirt getting stuck at a point where the plastic bumper connects to actual button, that registers the push. By blowing inside you blow some of this dirt away, so button becomes responsive again. However it is a temporary fix and if it got to that you really need to think about changing controller or actually disassembling and cleaning yours.

yeah man i had an elite series 2 and this problem is way to common you might also experience a double press delay on your elite where it registered after pressing the button, my elite controller had a similar issue then ended up not working at all so be careful

Bro, I got my controller completely broken down and examined the buttons, thoroughly cleaned and worked them before reassembly, check contacts, nothing worked. I tried blowing into it just as you said and it fucking worked. WHAT IS THIS VOODOO MAGIC? I don’t regret buying this iFixIt kit but holy shit.
Did you check the contacts with a multimeter to check for continuity when the bumper button is pressed. Another fix for this problem is to replace the internal switch for the bumper like I did in this video ruclips.net/video/7QK2z9UA0_A/видео.html. Anyway I'm glad this "blow" trick worked for you.

I think it’s just dirt is trapped inside the triggers so it stops them from fully working. Blowing into them or cleaning them by unscrewing then should clean it.

This fix will require you to replace an internal switch inside the controller.
You can also try putting some DeoxIT or WD-40 on the internal switch, maybe that will work too, but I haven't tried that personally as getting a new internal switch was cheaper than buying DeoxIT or WD-40. A new switch only cost me 99 cents.

yeah man i had an elite series 2 and this problem is way to common you might also experience a double press delay on your elite where it registered after pressing the button, my elite controller had a similar issue then ended up not working at all so be careful
i just got a series 2 elite controller and this happened to me i was pissed because i thought i would have to use another controller and buy another one , but this actually worked much lover brother.
If the controller is new you should think about getting it replaced as the issue might comeback in the future.

Holy shit this actually worked. Had this problem with both RB and LB on my elite series 2 controller. Was about to go buy a new one because I assumed it was broken. 5 blows or so while holding each trigger and boom problem completely solved. Thank you.
Bro, I got my controller completely broken down and examined the buttons, thoroughly cleaned and worked them before reassembly, check contacts, nothing worked. I tried blowing into it just as you said and it fucking worked. WHAT IS THIS VOODOO MAGIC? I don’t regret buying this iFixIt kit but holy shit.
Did you check the contacts with a multimeter to check for continuity when the bumper button is pressed. Another fix for this problem is to replace the internal switch for the bumper like I did in this video ruclips.net/video/7QK2z9UA0_A/видео.html. Anyway I'm glad this "blow" trick worked for you.
You have brought the working rate of two of my controllers from 60% - 95% and 0% -60% I cannot thank you enough

I think it’s just dirt is trapped inside the triggers so it stops them from fully working. Blowing into them or cleaning them by unscrewing then should clean it.
