Generally for a beam which is non continuous and fixed we provide extra top bar at L/4 distance where the negative bending moment occurs
But in case of continuous beam we provide extra top bar at L/3 distance from the fixed support of beam.
Same in the case of slab we provide the crank bar are L/4 distance where negative bending moment occurs.
