Naturewise Cardigan Forest Garden: Alpay Torgut

Alpay Torgut explains why he has dedicated most of his life to permaculture, and how he and his partner, Claire Turner, came to found the Naturewise Forest Garden on a five-acre field in Cardigan, west Wales. From his Turkish Cypriot roots, via struggles in London, Alpay had already created several forest gardens in the capital before moving to the Cardigan Bay area, where another false start has led finally, to the gift of land from the Welsh Government and the amazing symbiotic relationship between the forest garden and Cardigan's Eco Shop. This is a testament to a rugged faith in nature and people over profit.
