    I opened the back about a month ago and tested the elements, and only the low heat setting was working. I tried everything, then stumbled on your video, followed the details, and hey presto, it got the high heat running again. Can't thank you enough for saving me from wasting my money with a repair man or changing to a new dryer. 👍

As mine is integrated I took the opportunity to clean out the bottom filter as this is not normally accessible.Thrned jt ot think I had fixed it, but hey presto there is heat! Not sure if it just needed a good clean or if I had reset the thermostat switch.

    Thank you very much! Used this trick on my Hotpoint machine and it's up and running again. I wonder if it had something to do with the dry yesterday, as I noticed I hadn't pushed the water tray the whole way in, maybe it caused the machine to overheat or do something. But either way it works perfectly now!

      If you didn’t push back the water tank fully water will circulate in the system until when it’s too much there. Then the empty water tank light will come up.

      Hi,
      This is a safety solution. But without a proper clean, remove all deposited fluff around the drum and wires it will give a temporary fix. With a good clean it could work for a while again.

      Hi,

    Hi, I reset the heating element thermostat and heard the click which worked. But now it’s broke again, is this fix a one time thing or can it be done multiple times. I tried to make it click again and it’s not clicking. Thank you

    mine didn't work, should I try again on the other (red wired) thermometer? Or is it only the one shown here . I'm not even sure the other one is a thermometer 😅

      Hi Katie,
      In this model has only this one. In some models have 2, others have none. If you didn’t hear the click and doesn’t work then something else is wrong. Most likely heating element.

      Hi Ruth,
      In different models thermostat is on different place. In some models have button instead of hole. Or no option for this trick.

      Hi mate,
      I presume the heating element is faulty. Let’s check it may it’s burnt or teared.

      Hi Jacob,
      If you have switched back a couple times I recommend to change the sensor. Or the heating element need attention.

      Hi mate,
      Not all model have this reset function. May the thermostat sensor or the heating element is broken, but this is just my guess. Without inspection isn’t sure anything.

    Just done this after not getting any heat & replacing the element (was obviously broken)
    Now getting too hot and glowing red & smells like an electrical fire waiting to happen.
    Thermostat problem?

    • @georgesworkshop8600
      @georgesworkshop8600  2 года назад

      Hi Charlotte,
      Has been all fluffy removed before the new element fitted? Did you check the element without return the back cover? That is really important to put it back, as this ensure the correct airway around the element. Or burn down the excessive fluffy .

    It didn't work for me 😢, but applause for the video.
    Mine heats up, then gets cold.
    After I wait 1 hour start again it heats up again and after 20 minutes it becomes cold again.
    Any idea?

    • @georgesworkshop8600
      @georgesworkshop8600  Год назад

      Hello,
      There are 2 sensors on the heating element, may you should replace them one by one. If the sensors replacement didn’t work then the heating element itself should be changed.
