Hi thanks again for a very informative video , there is a lot of thought that goes into design and implementation , fine tuning on physical and logical layers , the nice thing about running within a Virtual environment is that one could allocate more ram , hard drive space and cpu's , the swap increasing would be depended on how you partitioned your hard drive when you installed Linux , but it is a very cool video thanks again for this very valuable information :-)
Surely, use of Virtual machines instead of physical servers brings some major improvements in maintenance. But the most important thing is that simply throwing more ram/cores on the server won't improve the situation dramatically, if you config files are not tuned properly to current hardware and a system.
The virtual environment will allow you to move your vdi's on the fly from mechanical drives to storage with ssd raid arrays and faster physical memory (higher clocking speeds) , which will increase the io stats dramatically according to the article (hence better performance), yes you will need to fine tune the config files (logical layer) once the cpu's , hard drives , network cards (optical / Cat 5 e 6) , ram (higher clocking speeds) , (physical layer) has reached it's threshold ability , one could possibly also look ito allocating more threads to prioritize the zabbix process. You could also reduce the amount of pols from the agents to reduce traffic over the network , which would reduce network problems (the switches must also be configured to prioritize the polling packets from the agents as well - which will result in better performance) , the performance goes down as a result of the data base growing and lockingup as the queries take longer to process and the house keeper takes longer to do it's job - I am starting to get a much better picture . I learning such a lot from you thanks again ... my knowledge is very limited , you discussions and providing resources really makes me think a lot ..... :-)
