- We had a bunch of balloons laying around, we don't anymore. ;) Look for the proprane explosions, they are totally flaming!

Would have made a bigger boom if the gasses had been mixed with oxygen in the correct ratio (ie. Hydrogen * 2 + Oxygen * 1). Chemistry...

I'm all for experiments like these, but why don't you guys wear any protective equipment? Not only is it dangerous to you but it also sets a bad example for others
+kaspermedum still should have eye and ear protection. Since they are dealing with explosive gasses, gloves or other protection against heat should be used. For the liquid nitrogen ones, they never use gloves so they look more manly but it is an unnecessary risk
+Joshua Post Maybe so. But they are very experienced. They've been doing it for many years. A drop or two of liquid nitrogen on your fingers or touched dosn't do much. Can't do a visible frostburn. It wouldn't even hurt. Eye protection i do agree with you on. Ear protection? It won't be that loud. Well depends...
+kaspermedum thanks for the reply. I didn't catch that they had ear protection sometimes. Regarding the heat, it just seems good practice to be prepared rather than hope 2m is enough.
I haven't heard of that type of cup for the liquid nitrogen. Than you for the informative reply.

+Fysikshow that's unfortunate. I'm surprised there was enough heat to affect the camera. They can usually survive a decent amount of abuse.
Why was there a delay between the explosions?
+Misclickable Mixtures of "explosive" gasses are often not triggered by shock waves, but heat. So, the balloons have to heat up one after the other to ignite.
+Misclickable The burning gas is fairly temporary, and there's a skin between it and the next container of flammable gas that has to burst and ignite.
