Holy shit. That was bad
Dallas doesn’t need any safety’s we literally have 4
And 0 are Zimmer guys they DQ guys !! It’s a sneaky need
Zimmer is going to want his handpicked safety, it’s a Zimmer hallmark. sneaky need
@@CowboysBlogOfficialI don’t think zimmer is getting the 1st round pick. He just got here.
@@dannysavagedraftgurufacts danny
5 actually
Love your content bro! Keep being great man. That Safety selection in the 1st is intriguing! You're the only person to put that out there so salute.
Excellent job. Love your channel as always 🏉
Love the draft, Joe, however, if you’re going to go Tyler Nubin, I believe you can trade back a second time pick up more pics and then secure him 👍🏼
😁 I love you guys at draft time! Not too many hits like almost everyone, but you have the right attitude.
My last draft I wheeled and dealed ( I’m not sure the rounds a couple were drafted, but likely in order)
1. OT Suamatala
2. WR Legette
3. RB Brooks
4. DT Sweat
5. LB Eichenburg
6. C Nourad
7. TE S. Ford
8. S Hampton
9. OT Crum
I really like your thinking here..just because we have players at a certain position, doesn't mean it can't be upgraded..
Smart picks= winners.
Just a side note, hearing chatter of a possible draft day trade involving Dak?
Not sure how I feel, yet it would definitely set us back if we did pull it off..
At least, short term..
I'd like to sort out depth at T and C, because if the current guys on roster arent valued, we should move them on too. Dont have a problem with adding a Safety somewhere in the draft. DBs are great for special teams as well. But Bell moving back to Safety may seem them go another route.
I kinda like that. Try to draft BPA at positions of need. Maulers and big back help offense. WR helps run game.
Solid Draft
Thanks for the mock draft.
Just this morning, I was trying to make a list of position groups from most pathetic to least pathetic or weakest to strongest if we want the list to sound less negative. As a position group, I think the safeties might be the strongest group on the team right now. We may not have the dominant safety that we would like, but they are overall very good. I'd be willing to trade Malik Hooker, and that could cause me to draft another safety. Otherwise, I can't see spending a high pick on another safety when so many other positions are so much more pathetic.
Right now, the defensive tackles are Osa Odighizuwa, Carl Banks, and Mazi Smith. That position group isn't as pathetic as the running backs are, but I see them as a weakness. The top defensive ends are DeMarcus Lawrence who is getting old, Micah Parsons who seems undersized and tires quickly, and Sam Williams who is prone to stupidity. We also have a bunch of players like Chauncey Golston, Viliami Fehoko Jr., Tyrus Wheat, and Durrell Johnson. I'm not confident about the defensive line at all.
At this point, I'd like to find Johnny Newton, Darius Robinson, or maybe Byron Murphy II still on the board after a trade-back. While Darius Robinson may be too much of a 'tweener like Chauncy Golston, with the right coaching and right strength training, he might be able to solidify the interior. I want to turn the Cowboys into a tough team in the trenches. I think this kind of pick would do that. I think this kind of pick would send a message to all of the defensive linemen that their jobs are in jeopardy.
At pick 56, linebacker would be my priority. As I look at my weakest to strongest list, I think that offensive line might work out okay if some of the players on the team go through their NFL puberty and come out the other side as real players. I'm not that encouraged at linebacker. I would love to find Edgerrin Cooper, but he might be gone. I'm looking at Junior Colson or Cedric Gray at pick 56. If Zach Frazier is available, I probably can't resist taking him at 56. I'd even be tempted by Patrick Paul.
At pick 87, I'm still thinking of solidifying the defensive line or maybe grasping for a cornerback. If I end up with Darius Robinson for my first pick, I might choose McKinnley Jackson to solidify the nose. If I were happy with Maason Smith's health, I might choose him instead. Maybe I would use this pick to give Mike Zimmer a defensive back. Renardo Green or Josh Newton might be possibilities. For purposes of this mock, I'll say that I get Josh Newton here.
If we assume that my draft so far is Johnny Newton, Junior Colson, and Josh Newton, then I'll go to the offense in the fourth round and pick Tanor Bortolini. I think he's played some other positions along the offensive line. If Brock Hoffmann somehow beats him for the center spot, then he can compete for left guard and push Tyler Smith to left tackle. However, my real plan would be to keep him at center either as starter or backup.
At pick 174, I'd hope that Kristian Boyd is still available. Maybe he and Newton make Odighizuwa expendable and we can trade him for picks. Maybe Newton and Boyd make Mazi Smith expendable and we can trade him for picks and sign Odighizuwa to a team-friendly second contract. If I ended up with Darius Robinson instead of Johnny Newton, then maybe Sam Williams or even DeMarcus Lawrence becomes expendable. This pick sends a message to the team and the league that the Cowboys defensive line is going to become dominant again.
At pick 216, I'd hope that Carson Steele is available. He seems to be someone who could become another Walt Garrison type of running back. I'd want my real push for a running back to come next year because I think the real push for a Super Bowl would start in 2026. However, he could be helpful in getting us through this year.
At pick 233, I'd pick Nathan Thomas, the offensive tackle from Louisiana. He's another developmental lineman, and that's another dart thrown at the wall. I don't expect Matt Waletzko to be playing after this year. He's going to get hurt again in the preseason and decide that his shoulders won't let him play NFL football. Josh Ball hasn't worked, and I can't see signing him beyond his rookie contract. Earl Bostick Jr. might develop, but he didn't get activated last year. Adding a solid tackle is a worthwhile move.
At pick 244, I'll pick Sam Hartman this time. My only concern with picking a quarterback this year is that McCarthy is likely in his last year. He might not really care about developing a rookie quarterback, and the next head coach might want to look elsewhere. On the other hand, Hartman seems to have the qualities that would make him a good backup anywhere. If he's not available, I'd probably double-dip at linebacker. My pet cat among seventh-round linebackers is Jackson Mitchell of UConn, but that's just from reading profiles. That the Cowboys have interest in Nathaniel Watson and Jordan Magee makes them more likely choices. I would also consider an edge like Nelson Ceasar of Houston or Jordan Strachan of South Carolina.
I know that I often repeat myself in listing these mocks, but no one is reading them anyway.
I dunno on this one Joe.. big fan of your work but some pen throw picks on this mock for sure!
Joe, if by some chance Cooper Dejean was there at #24 would you be opposed to taking him?
Alot of versatility/flex would allow us to have one of the best secondaries, plus cover us in case of Diggs or Bland going down..
If he is there, BPA..run to the podium..
Don't forget the tight ends❤!
I wonder if the Joneses want to replace any low to okay performing high salary guys with draft picks?🤔🤷🏿♂️
We'll see
Has to be oline rd 1 or our offense will struggle..far as I’m concerned tho this will be a 2 year plan for drafting..Dallas is all about 25’
Love this draft
I’m not taking no safety rd 1,I would go center and tackle rd 1 and 2
Wasn’t feeling this draft honestly. We need O-Line, RB, DT. Have depth at safety so safety as first pick wouldn’t help us out immediately. Like the Span pick because of his size and frame but we won’t be drafting TE this draft.
I like Burton but he gonna go rd 2,let’s hope we get him rd 2
I like this draft 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I bet Hartman will go rd 5
Oof jermaine……. Cowboys would do it…..ummm not sure if they should. Scrappy is an understatement.
Here’s what I know for nxt weeks draft,Barton will be first center and JPJ will fall and Frazier be late rd 1-early rd 2
We got 4 good safeties we don’t need a safety in the first round
I don’t know about 4 good… maybe one truly good when healthy. Zimm wants his guys. Nubin is a game changer. Tone setter, this soft team needs real dogs.
Tyler Nubin ah dogg!
Need a center
I like your picks. Makes sense. But the Jones boys….it’s gonna be a lot of “WHO!!!!?” n “WHHHYYYYY!!!???”
I like estime, but doesn't he have a fumbling problem?
That was horrible 😂 The only pick i liked was the 5th round LBer
I understand drafting another QB but we have done that in past and still no ring I think it's a wasted pick
Your not helping the offense!!! Run game on both sides is a disaster.
Frazier wright mahogany rds 1-3
Lost me at TE…… I’ve been following you for years brother but another TE just doesn’t make sense to me
Lol you get mad and it's so funny.
Not gonna happen no safety with first pick we just moved our LB back to safety.
I guarantee Dallas makes zero of these picks
I agree defense at 24
Dallas has 4 decent safeties plus Muk. And we don't have a 4th round pick that you would trade up to for a guy like that. This mock sucks. It's like you trying to be clever and find diamonds in dog poo.
No QBs?
Man , watch the whole video 🤣🤣
You are fired as a GM
Awesome mock draft
No way in Hell we go S in first round. A) we dont need it we are deep at S and B) no guarantee Zim is going to be here beyond this Season. Big Mikes Future uncertain which meams Zims is too. No way in Hell they give him control of our 1st round pick no matter how hard he pounds that table... I would rather take Edgerin Cooper or Payton Wilson at 27 if we went Defense. Go with a position of need, and no C? that is actually a Biggest need for this team... 🤣😂
You don’t understand the relationship Mike Zimmer has here with Dallas, and the Jones family. He will have a strong voice in that room than McCarthy.
@@CowboysBlogOfficial No I do. But the fact remains if Big Mike might be gone after this year. So too may Zim. Possible New Coach more times than not = New Handpicked Coaching Staff.
This wasn't good
Why u choosing weak players man we need good and huge players cmon
You need to study up on players man.
@@CowboysBlogOfficial yeah I do we need real players not players that don’t even mean anything to the system
@@user-tc6qz6xw2k Go study
@@CowboysBlogOfficial I do study man more than u do of course u think this is a competition huh
This not it JOE.
