Campbeltown used to have a mad pie shop on the mainstreet kinda thing it was like a old tin shake roof inside it to give it that bush look and they served with mushie peas and mash
That first bakery in Newtown seems like such a stitch up. Over $10 for a pie that's probably at best cooked first thing in the morning, they can keep it. Seeing I can buy a meat pie with slow cooked brisket in a red wine sauce with real puff pastry in Balmain for $8. There's got to be something in the water, or maybe it's the bright hair dye but $25 is too much unless I see it coming out of the oven.

I grew up in matto/Matraville in the mid 90s- 2000s...that pie shop/bakery on Bunnerong rd across the 7 eleven was considered the best pie shop back in the day. I remember going there late at night around midnight and buying cream buns and pies as a teenager and we would go there after a few drinks at Matraville hotel . Was the best. I think its been through a couple different owners now. Its called the House of Pies now but I dont think its as good as it was back in the day.

The best 2 Pies I have ever had are from Bourke St Bakery in Parramatta ( Beef Brisket, Red Wine & Mushroom Pie ), and the Braised Chunky Beef pie from Hominy Bakery in Katoomba.
