I stayed there in 2020 for a week I parked next to the boat ramp and at that time there was flooding. Its still a nice place to camp for free with flushing toilets and showers
I have never been at a free campground. Mostly, I stay at Florida State Parks. It's getting hard to make a reservation now. I will check this out. Thank you for your posting.
I just spent 7 days there and a lot has changed. Most of the outer areas are now roped off and there's signs saying 'No Camping'. There are now 15 marked sites. #1 is the camp host's site, so only 14 sites are available for the general public. Some are marked 'tent' and some are marked 'RV'.
No cell service means not a lot of people. I can do without for a while. I don't make video's. Thanks again for the beautiful place. I am going to Cottons landing by this place. I may just go over for a few days. Saves me money at truck stop showers too. Thank you.
@@LivingOurDreamNow I love that you guys are loving your retirement and traveling!!! I hiked 4 months of the Appalachian Trail with support from Mark and now we are excited to hit the road again!!!
Wow, a free camping area with trash receptacles, flush toilets, and HOT showers? Very nice. I need to go there for a visit. Is there a Walmart or grocery store nearby to get supplies??
No resupply close. This campground is fairly remote. Probably at least a 30 minute drive or more to resupply. With that said, you hit the nail on the head. Scenic free camping with the aforementioned amenities is hard to beat. Lou
Milo did a kamikaze maneuver into the Blackwater River immediately after that clip was taken. He ended up in the middle of the river and swam for the first time back to our side of the riverbank.
Hi Tom. It is near Milton Florida. I provide the grid coordinates in the written video description. The grid coordinates for this free camping location are as follows: 30.802824, -86.767187
Very nice, Free Camping Park to go to! Love that little beach area next to the River ! Now, would there be, alligator's there ?! Just checkin'. I'd still go, but just wouldnt want to fall asleep sitting in my beach chair and have one come up, and want to check me out ! lol Fun video ! Thanks
Hi Vicky. Milo did a full kamikaze into the middle of the Blackwater River a few minutes after I show him running near the beach. Yes there are alligators in these waters. Milo swam back (it was his first time to actually swim). Good thing because I was ready to go in the water after him.
That far north on Blackwater alligators are far and few between. Most gators around here tend to find secluded places to live, and the river is a little cold for them. Lots of gators closer to the bay.
Thanks for sharing it’s beautiful. Do they have water for public use besides in the bathroom of course? Do you have to have a permit, and pay a fee like on BLM land? Thanks
There is water available, but is not marked as potable. I suspect the water source is well water. I'd bring your own water supply for drinking water. This free camping area is completely free and does not require a reservation or permit. Just show up, select your site, and enjoy the free camping. Thanks for watching!
This is great. I started following your channel because of your free camping in PA. I plan on spending winters in Florida (from PA) so love the videos. Now I see you have done other areas also. I expect to have my trailer soon (Rockwood Ultra Lite 2614BS) with 12 compressor refrigerator, Solar, Inverter, 60 gallon holding tanks and I have a 3500w inverting generator.
Thanks for the video! It’s really helped me out. Just curious.. it’s been raining for a few days.. do you think the road in would still be a safe drive for a big rig?
Hi Kasey, If you follow the route outlined at the end of the video then yes you should be okay even with a big rig. Have fun and thanks for watching! Lou
This looks like a nice place to spend a few weeks. I really like the white sand beaches! Could you please tell me what the temperature is there for this time of year? Does it rain often? Thanks!
Lows in the lower 40's and highs in the lower 60's on average in January. Florida is known for plenty of rain, but it dries up fairly quickly. If you are interested in warmer free camping locations, I have several awesome videos in the queue awaiting to be published. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
@@LivingOurDreamNow Thanks for the info, and for responding so quickly! I have subscribed to your channel, and will be looking forward to your future posts.
Outside of Milo plowing into the river (first time he has done that) no, we didn't spot any dangers, but there must be alligators in the waters. Lucky our little guy swam back to shore without me having to go in after him. This was a great free camping location and no reservation is needed. The only minus was the poor cell service. Thanks for watching! Lou
Currently Sprint operates on its own network, so my T-Mobile service will not be an accurate indicator for Sprint service. Hopefully soon T-Mobile will merge the networks.

found this on FreecampsitesDOTnet
There is also a "Geo-cache" at this site on one of the hiking trails
Hey Lou , Dont forget to check out " Goose Pasture " campsite in western FL.
They have a dump station there
Noted. Thanks. Lou

This is a really cool place to camp and it also has flush toilets and hot showers and it's free! Lou

Yes, thank you Amanda - I was about to head there till I read your comment.

Looks pretty nice. Any idea where the nearest potable water & dump station might be?
There is potable water at the campground next to the shower house. A dump station is located at nearby Blackwater River State Park. Lou
My kind of place for sure. Thanks for showing us around.
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching.
This is great info. I spend winters in FL & I like finding new places to enjoy.
Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching. Lou
Another excellent video. Sorry if I missed it Lou, but did you mention or did you see rules on inverter generators? This place is a gem!!!
The campground host told me generators are allowed.
@@LivingOurDreamNow Thank you sir!
Shhhh! Let’s keep this one to ourselves 😃
Loved this free county park. It is both scenic and there are no reservations required. Thanks for following our travels. Lou
Right? All the good places get turned into tourist traps.
Exactly I have only told 2 people about this spot
This is awesome 😍 love Milo, he’s adorable 🥰

Yes.

Any warning signs for danger from wild life ?

No permit required. Plenty of space in this county park. Thanks for watching! Lou
