...that 95% of American fire departments don't even listen to let alone follow. Notice how few comments there are. They don't Want to know!

V - Vent the fire room windows.
E - Extinguish all Visible Burning Material from the exterior.
V - Vent more windows in areas where victims may be and create cross ventilation.
E - Enter a much safer and cooler space with a charged line and extinguish fire and cool gasses while a search is being performed.
You can apply Tank Water on VBM faster than an entry team can be assembled, get fully dressed and get the door open.

many folks think firefighters and police are overpaid & get far more benefits than others in equally dangerous occupations. Benefits in Ca such as 2% @ 55- two percent of your salary for each year worked should you retire at 55 years of age. is one benefit not seen by private industry workers. However others argue that the risks and dangers of these professions call for such benefits given the high mortality encountered in day to day operations. Any thoughts pro or con from those in the profession. ???

I don't think it's possible to overpay someone who goes into burning buildings or face down violent and armed criminals.

9:34 Vent at the fire room window and get water to the fire fast. That is NOT done in the USA!
14:04 15:10 16:11 16:50 17:06 19:03 20:05 This is what you need to do on all sides of the building before making entry. It takes a few seconds to eliminate 1000 degrees of heat. This is NOT done in the USA!
18:00 "That gets effective water to the fire as fast as possible." A straight stream at close range will not do that. The nozzle is adjustable for a reason. Nozzles are NOT adjusted in the USA!
20:35 Yes, I was doing this in the late 60's and early 70's because nothing else made sense. K.I.S.S. If you see what's burning, put water on it. Eliminate the flames and the temperature drops by 1000 degrees almost instantly!
22:30 This is NOT done in the USA!
22:43 THIS, is what IS DONE in the USA!
25:28 This is NOT done in the USA!
American fire fighters don't want to know or do this type of fire fighting because it puts the fire out TOO QUICK! Think about that!

So it's a conspiracy by fire fighters? Sounds like complete bullshit to me.

@@baruchben-david4196 I am SOOOOOO glad you asked that
You won't like my detailed response so I won't give it to you. I'll give you some things to think about.
      1. There is an attached garage burning on a two story colonial. Could be filled with containers of flammable and explosive materials. There's a door from the garage directly into a family room or kitchen. It would take three fire fighters LESS than ONE Minute to extinguish that fire using tank water and easy to use Booster Lines. It would take Much longer for fire fighters to get fully dressed, assemble an entry team and get the front door open to perform Search and Rescue.
So why would they ignore the Visible Burning Material to go into the burning building and allow the fire to get bigger and threaten the victims and themselves?
      2. Same house. The fire is clearly visible through the first floor living room window. To vent the house they take the Time and Manpower to set a ladder to the roof, set another ladder to the ridge, climb up that ladder, cut a hole in the roof and then punch a hole in the ceiling below to vent the smoke and heat out of the first floor when all they had to do is quickly and safely break out the Livingroom windows which would allow the pressurized heat and smoke a direct route out of the building and away from victims instead of towards victims and entering fire fighters?
      3. Same scenario. Why would FFers not Quickly extinguish the fire in that room through the window instead of taking the Time to go inside the dangerous interior to fight the fire from the inside out?
Hint! All the reasons are Childish and Irresponsible. Oh Rats! I gave the answer away!
