Carrie was such a beautiful woman. I see all the hateful comments about her issues. As if these people are so perfect that it gives them the authority to condemn those with problems. She was incredibly talented, funny, witty, and again gorgeous. She gave so many girls a lift from Star Wars. So many Princesses were born from that character. She is and will ALWAYS be a BELOVED character. RIP Carrie Fisher. We miss your smile. We miss your wit, and we miss YOU!!
Gosh I miss her! She was so quick witted and just downright funny. I have all of her books + re-read them constantly. So glad we had her for a little while
Such a warm and delightful woman she was aside from being a smokeshow in her prime. I'd met her three different times at conventions over the years, and she was as witty, funny, and gracious as one would expect. She may be gone but she's still very much with us in other ways.
I love Star Wars, but what I really admire about Carrie is her advocacy for bipolar/manic depressive people. I am bipolar 1 as she was and I’ve been hospitalized 3 times. She inspired me to talk about my own experiences and it helped me deal with it.
I've heard she was very nice. She did have some issues with the Princess Leia "defining" her. But she accepted it and became very gracious to her fans. She unlike Harrison Ford saw it as love, respect, and admiration, where as Ford saw it as a nuisance and a irritant. Mark Hamill also embraced it. Star Wars made them into SUPERSTARS. Carrie was what 18 or 19? She was a bit overwhelmed I'm sure at first. As the next two movies became more and more of a huge monster hit, again I'm sure it was a bit unnerving. As I mentioned in a different comment, so much hate has been said about her issues. Her depression and subsequent drug use. That is so sickening. So many people feel they have a right to be a judge and condemn people. Carrie has some serious mental issue that sadly really hurt her. But NOBODY is perfect. NOBODY has the right to judge anyone. Only ONE has that right and NONE of us are Him. She overcame her problems thankfully. Depression and Bi-polar disorder are serious issues that are NOTHING to be laughed at or judged. I've also seen comments about her being rich and how can someone with money have issues? It shows right there that mental illness shows NO SPECIFICS. ANYONE can have it. To judge someone for it can come back to haunt you. People can have this without ANY family member knowing it, until sometimes sadly it's too late. When I was young and didn't understand how harsh addiction and mental illness was I didn't give it much thought. I didn't condemn anyone, but I also didn't again pay much attention to it. But we had alcoholism in our family. Then later a friend. I AWESOME and SWEET woman. A young girl, only 22 years old didn't show up for work. Next day same thing. We had met when she worked at the corner gas station when she was 18 or 19. She was a small gal. About 5' tall. Small stature but a HUGE LAUGH and I loved hearing her giggle. She left there and ended up as our overnight cashier, where I was the 3rd shift manager. We already knew each other but we became friends. I WISH I would have knew her better. I also knew her brother. Very smart and quiet. She was quiet and shy but once you knew her she LOVED to JOKE AND LAUGH! By the third day she didn't show I knew something was wrong. It was then I learned she committed suicide. She suffered from depression. But very FEW knew it. She qas very quiet as I said. Her personal life was just that HER LIFE. She let some in but always kept a distance. I understood that because I had been hurt so I did it too. Except she also didn't want anyone too close. I hear people say WHY didn't anyone do anything? Sometimes there is NO WARNING. Even her family was kept at a distance. She was very smart. Did extremely well in school. But didn't have a lot of direction. Now that I think about it maybe it was chaotic in her mind. Colleges and parents pulling one way, friends another, and she, herself unsure and confused. She really did have such a possibly bright future. Which AGAIN goes to show that mental illness can strike ANYONE. Now Carrie DIDN'T do this. I ONLY brought it up to show that depression can be hidden and can really destroy a life, MANY LIVES. It isn't something ANY of us have ANY right to judge. NONE of us have any right to do that. So enough hate. What always puzzles me is if you dislike someone so much that you'll bash and trash them in a comment, or that your even looked into the video? Again given the fact that you "hate" this person? Makes me wonder if their lives are so empty they scan You Tube looking for people they can belittle to give themselves credibility. Just a thought.
She was so lovely looking then. How time glys by do so fast.from Youthnto old age. Ism 62 now. Rember her, she had such humor such talent. So real she was.to spell her mind an truth.Ri,P
Carrie was, is, my ultimate gal...she is 2 years older than me, she is an older woman...she looks somewhat vulnerable. here...later she matured in smarts even if that were POSSIBLE!!...she already is super-duper wicked hip here in 1880....I have so much in common with you, Carrie, i come from some serious parents who had a million in the bank....my grandpa was a big- shot.....were almost the same age..
She was my first movie crush. She had such a natural beauty. Such a soft look yet she demanded respect. I remember friends had the Farrah poster, and I did too, BUT I got the Princess Leia poster of her. She was like a angel.
@Curt I I knew the episode, but thanks for pointing out Carrie Fisher's writing there! Debbie Reynolds had a great run of mother roles in her third act: Roseanne, Will and Grace, Mother, and Behind the Candelabra. More? Her real life appearances with Carrie Fisher and their continual banter.
@@Ma_Ba - I am just about to post this in general comments. I feel like it was pretty dirty - because Goodman had made a diaper joke and Carrie may have wanted to top it
Hope she had a lithotripsy with that kidney stone: first thing they do is make the patient comfy with anesthesia, then have them climb onto a weird looking table, give them some snooze juice, and use sound waves to pulverize the kidney stone so that it washes away with urination, and the operation doesn't hurt at all... I miss her sense of humor and personality so much. Love you both, Carrie, Debbie...
"I ran out of my own." 🤣🤣🤣🤣 In my now middle age, I appreciate Carrie Fischer waaay more than ever before. Clearly a good looking woman, but her wry sense of humor was off the charts.
5:56 Carrie: "I'm dating someone about 75 years old" John Goodman: "You might want to hang on to that diaper" That was a Norm Macdonald level add on right there. Miss you princess!
perhaps...and drink...and then other drugs and then drink. whatever it takes...others might-have ended-it, she fought it with what she thought she could. maybe we'd do differently in the same situation, or do the same or could we do better...who knows
"Good lines Carrie, I might swipe a couple," said Leno about her book. And he probably did. That's all you need to know about this unfunny clown. Kudos to Carrie for her always excellent wit and gracious banter. She never dissed those who couldn't keep up. RIP brilliant lady.
It’s upsetting that she was rich throughout her life. That’s why she didn’t star in more movies and was like a tertiary actor in movies just as a favor to her friends who were making the movies.
Apparently a trend, a very strange one. But it was diapers, clean paper diapers. Pretty sure she wouldn't have brought her daughter's underwear aside from that.
Madonna made a very crude appearance on David Letterman on March 31, 1994 and offered him a pair of her previously worn panties and asked him to sniff them. The clip is also on RUclips. I’m guessing this interview took place shortly after that one. Offering diapers is a send up of that event.

Edster III Well said, couldn’t agree more. She was the tops in every way.
Same opinion
Carrie Fisher, such a wonderful woman. Beautiful at any age and just very real.
I totally agree!
Yep. Those who judge her need to clean their own backyard before they start cleaning someone else's. It's that simple.
I love seeing Carrie's interviews. It brings her back to life. Awesome lady. RIP.
Gosh I miss her! She was so quick witted and just downright funny. I have all of her books + re-read them constantly. So glad we had her for a little while
she looked wonderful in this interview!
Isn't it a shame she didn't stay in shape? Such a shame...She will be forever missed...

Carrie looks beautiful at every age :-)
She looks great here❤
She had a really quick wit! Leno could hardly keep up with her rapid-fire quips and clever jokes.
nervous talking about Hollywood parties and the elite
I think she had the most fun with Clive James and Craig Ferguson, because they could keep up with her
I love Star Wars, but what I really admire about Carrie is her advocacy for bipolar/manic depressive people. I am bipolar 1 as she was and I’ve been hospitalized 3 times. She inspired me to talk about my own experiences and it helped me deal with it.

Carrie was trying to tell us something even back in 94. Handing him a nappy.
Her humour is totally going over the heads of the audience who laugh at Jay's dumb jokes
Goodman- "Might want to hold onto that diaper boo".
SHE WAS JUST PERFECT MY LOVE❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

6:13 Carrie wrote the episode of Roseanne where her real life mother Debbie Reynolds played Dan's mother, Audrey.
What do you think she says to Goodman just before 6:30? The applause drowned it out. Lip read it anyone?
@@Ma_Ba .
I was considering that myself, probably something complimentary as she walked in taking the spotlight immediately, gorgeous woman she was.

Leno doesn’t fumble like how Colbert fumbles through all his interviews since he started the Late Show.
Jazz Jazz : When he was on the Colbert Report. And his shows from home are way better than his studio shows.
I love her so much 💗
imagine a chat with John Goodman and Carrie 😂😂😂😂😂
What do you think she says to him before 6:30?
John Goodman looks good. I've always liked Carrie Fisher. She's a beautiful soul.

Miss you princess!
I have all her books. (And I'm not a Star Wars fan.)
Same here!
@Trey Stephens I did but I was like 4. I relate more to her books, which discuss her drug use, that I can relate to.
Love Carrie her personality is awesome
Goodman had the best line...
Haha, loving the underwear bit, have you guys seen Madonna on Letterman just a month before this happened? 😂
Leave it to John Goodman to have the best line of the whole interview.
I dunno - I feel like her aside to him was pretty scandalous the way Goodman chuckled
So lovely
can see "fame" was a double-edged sword" for her...but she took it on, on her own terms
By 'took it on', you mean took drugs?
perhaps...and drink...and then other drugs and then drink. whatever it takes...others might-have ended-it, she fought it with what she thought she could. maybe we'd do differently in the same situation, or do the same or could we do better...who knows
Makes me smile anyone trying to shame Carrie Fisher, beautiful, witty, with a litany of adversity she over came : ) .
I miss her
She was fucking goregous here

#1 in the ratings on The Tonight Show or 2 runs totaling 20 years. All you need to know about how wrong and dumb you are.
❤Carrie❤
Brown matte lipstick was all the rage in the mid-90’s
It’s upsetting that she was rich throughout her life. That’s why she didn’t star in more movies and was like a tertiary actor in movies just as a favor to her friends who were making the movies.
I wouldn't be upset to be rich.
I love what she did to her ex...
Hollywood just another world...
Leno is so lame, his guests run circles around him,
Hahah that underwear reference reminds me of Madonna’s letterman guesting XD
Of course! That's why she did it. Loving it.
What a complex world she was born into.

The poor woman aged 30 years in the last 5 years of her life.
What do we think she said in that aside to Goodman after his diaper joke?
I will never understand why Leno was chosen to replace the great Carson... He's boring as hell
Jay Leno is such a lump of ... Carrie is funny here and he doesn't laugh once. Dave or Johnny would have been cracking up.
I need them Hookeres at times.. fux it
Leno sucks
She brought her daughter's underwear.
I mean I like Carrie Fisher's work but this I didn't maybe understand or I feel she went too far

It is her way of calling him out as a sick evil monster #adrenochrome
It was a joke

Just starting to lose her looks here.
