You have a very good American accent. Here's some knowledge extension for you: English (or British as you called them) speakers tend to make a glottal stop with words like matter and butter. The T sound is not pronounced.
Thanks Teacher Karen for the tips for a fresh start. It indeed practice, practice and practice. This area caused me to failed in the last two steps before hired in the other ESL online tutorial company. According to the Chinese Evaluator that I need to improved my pronunciation particularly the /th/ sound words and the accent. Thanks a lot.
Teacher Karen, this is very helpful. I'm just waiting for the trainer to call me in zoom for ACADSOC training. That's one of my problem, I don't have English accent.
I find that even the IPA is not 100% accurate. Just to name a few examples: 1. No distinction between the light L (life) and the dark L (milk) 2. No distinctions between the different T pronunciations such as the released T (take), flap T (water), glottal T (mountain), and when the T is pronounced as ch like in the word train 3. No distinctions between the different "A" pronunciations: e.g. Can is pronounced as ka-uhn, and bank is pronounced as beink.
Great content. Also add a lesson on prepositional phrases, please. There are many of these that when mastered can help people talk about directionality.
Thanks for this comment, Mentor. No matter what the platform is, you're always there. About preps, it's already in the pipeline 🥰 I shall reincarnate my comms trainer self 😂

It's ok not to have an English accent as long as you work on having a neutral accent :) Practice is key! ♥️
