My mom was one of the Nkwere aboriginals women club that sang this song. I can vividly remember her dance steps with 2handkerchiefs. May her soul continue to rest in peace with the lord
This album transports me to a time when my beloved mum still walked this earth, rekindling deepest memories of her. Each time I play these songs, I feel her spirit around me, sheltering me with her love and comfort. I miss you, mummy. Rest well.
Rest in peace my precious mother who slept to meet her Creator @88yrs on the 26th February 2022. One of her favorite igbo songs. My happiness is the fact that she lived to fly to Europe and America at will. Mom, may your soul RIP.
Growing up we had nothing. My mum sang this song all the time because she believed tomorrow will be better for us. I’m happy she lived to see us achieve success but she still left too early. RIP mama 😢

Igbo women are our pride and they are the most beautiful black race anywhere. A big accolade to all those who put this song together and may their voices live long. In the same time this song has made me remembered my late mom... Ezinne, Mrs. Enderline Ifuruaku Ikeanumba. (Nee.. Odiukonamba) .. was associated to her because in my entire village community in Orsu LGA, she is the tallest woman at 6.7" thus I made her coffin at 7". Died 1st Nov. 1998! May her soul rest in perfect peace
Rest in Peace, Ezinne Celestina Chimara. My beloved mother who left to be with the Saints on the 21st of April 2021. This song made me cry today. Mom used to dance with two handkerchiefs
No kidnapping, no ritual killing, no SARS, no 419, no Yahoo boys, less police road blocks, no Army on the roads, fairly good roads, free primary education, etc during this time. 😩
Not true, that you were not born during this age made you speak like that, if you were born during the early 80s and 90s you will understand that crime started from the beginning, ritual killings was even more rampant then, but was not celebrated the way it is now, the otokoto ritual killing that happened in 1996 and the coups and counter coup of the early 60s and 70s that lead to the Nigerian Biafra war in 1967 what do you call it,
Not true dear, all the things you mentioned here have been into existence but as popular as they are now, everything grows 🤣🤣 you don't expect them to remain low like that 🙆🙆
This song brings back nostalgic memories of our mothers in Anambra dancing with two handkerchiefs during burial of one of their own. The evil going on in south east has made such things almost impossible. May our lands be free from all oppression!
I am shedding tears listening to this melodious rendition from nkwere women it reminds me of my late mother, this was her favorite! May her soul continue to rest in peace and that of all the nkwere women that put this songs together that are no more
I am a proudly igbo woman and Nwada🎉😂😅❤. Even though Christianity is destroying our cultures and traditions. Hopefully, one day, we will realise who we are😢
Nnamdi kanu said it clearly that " our mothers represent our culture in everything ie if you doubt me jus look at your mother dressing very cultural 🤔🤔🧠🔥 "
This is indeed an ever green song that makes me proud to be an Ibo man that believes in Biafra to come if the Lord tarries. The kingdom of God is near.
Here because my late dad loves this song, I felt his presence around me while listening to this song. He will be buried in the next 2 days. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace ✌️
My mother used to go home back in the 80's and to a lesser degree in the 90's as part of her exportation side hustle...She'd bring back food, clothes music ..I recall this CD , esp the first song...our cultural music has always fascinated me since early childhood..when my Dad csm3e back from his first return trip home ..armed with a cassette of our local women singing ...ibwas hooked...love the local instruments, rhythm, melodies...call and response, chorus and group singing sound.
I once fall in love with nkwere man because of this … though it didn’t last. I love Nkwere and what they represent. Funny enough, I haven’t been to that town
Nostalgic feeling ..Those good old days,so fresh and green..aunties,uncles,cousins all gather to dance to the rythmn of this folktale moonlight sound, you wouldnt forget to bring your white handkerchief along...Xmas then was bomb...i am in tears now 😢😢😢😢 I am from isiala mbano, nkwerre isnt to far from my place😢😢😢😢
How I wish this song will come out in video. At least let the new generation Nkwerre Women replicate this. I am from Mbano but I can't stop listening to this song.
Listening to this song again now after so many years. OMG! This song is so powerful. Filled with morals that we really need in this generation. God Bless IGBO!
I love this song. It reminds me of my childhood when marriage Igbo women in my village will sing and dance joyously during their monthly meetings. My mom used to be part of them, though, as Nwan anwa, but later became a pioneer member of the Nwan nwan club in River state. Sweet memories of my childhood in my village are something unique and wonderful. Thanks for technology.
