I just finished reading info of the Bearcentre in Ely. It gave me one hour of enjoying their information about Black bears and all the other bearspecies there are in mostly North-America! I loved it! Also the sounds bears make in different situations! I wish I had read it years ago! That woman (researcher) that followed the black bear, so close! Almost besides the bear! Wonderful!

Poppy has to be one of the most laid back black bears. She has won my heart and is quickly becoming one of my new favs! ♥️

@@LisaNix2 Patrick said something about needing to get the vinegar in it correct - so I guess he has to put some vinegar in to keep bugs away/keep it sanitary, and the new vinegar he bought wasn't right... But the bowl is back in service in the latest video.

As much as I totally agree with you about Poppy’s inappropriate behavior, seeing her walk away so sad with her head down absolutely broke my heart. Poppy handled your disapproval with such grace. Not Simone. Patrick would recognize her. He knew all her cubs. Ruby too, for that matter. Because he knew both of them from when they were cubs. One of the others maybe.
The one time you want Bella to help you out - nope. Poppy is persistent and generally polite though.
I’d be putting a different kind of doorhandle on there. That one’s too easy for a bear to use.
I've had tame bear cubs at my house before (friend was a Wildlife Rehabilitater). Trust me, Poppy would figure out any kind of door handle. Bears are experts at getting into things. My bathtub had round knobs to turn on the water. The friend's house had handles. The bear cub took maybe 2 minutes of messing around with it to figure out how to get the water turned on so he could play in it 🐻
If given enough time a bear can open pretty much anything it wants. Hulk, smash!
@@darrylr.4983 Yes, bears should probably be called the 'engineers of the wild'. Even harmless but complex trapping devices used by scientists to test bears' intelligence were not only avoided by the bears, but completely dismantled in minutes. 😊🐻
@@TheLitehart1 We had an Asian Black Bear Cub at our house one time, I already mentioned the knobs on the bathtub. He also opened our cabinets with one swipe of his paw, and opened closet doors by reaching up and pulling the handle down. We took him outside occasionally to potty, and he learned very fast that he had to at least make an effort to potty and we'd let him back inside where he loved to be.
We did a school presentation with him and he figured out how to work the water fountain. The kids thought it was hilarious, the teachers not so much...
OMG Bella sleeping on the job giving Poppy the perfect opportunity for an in-the-house visit! I am real glad you heard the door when you did, Patrick. Poppy is sweet, but I can’t imagine turning around and seeing her making herself at home IN your home with no warning 😮🐻 🏡 ❤

No kidding! I have been in Spain in over 100° heat, and when you walk past certain restaurants, bars, and stores, you can see that they have the doors open and the air-conditioning pumping out into the street to draw you in! I'm sure she would have loved that

Bella is in therapy trying to work out why the bears are not afraid of her and she is having an identity crisis. She's barking her head off and the bears, including the cubs, don't even look in her direction much less flee. Hang in there Bella!

Absolutely beautiful animal. It's so previous to be 'sharing' space with them. You can see they trust you completely by turning their back on you. I live in a major city and just can't imagine seeing such a magnificent creature literally at my front door.

With the utmost courtesy, I attempted to draw your attention to a deplorable lack of services. My good friend Ruby mentioned the fact that the drinking vessel, usually put there for welcome refreshment, was absent during her last visit. Convinced that Ruby was in error, I checked.
To my grievous disappointment, I found she was correct.
Hence my appearing at the entrance of your abode.
Rather than being remorseful at your forgetfulness, Sir, you SCOLDED me.
Shame on you. You will notice that I had the grace, not to remonstrate. A sad, long lingering look at the empty place was all I allowed myself.
