You say that you are a driving instructor and yet you can repair gadgets that even some qualified personnel find hard to deal with... Thats an amazing talent, I dont know about others but i really love your videos man, simply amazing.. Just keep up the best work and keep showing us whats inside these things...
OMG! Do u know that u just saved me $750. My daughter dropped my iPhone 5 in the toilet. I could not get it to work for the past 3 days. I placed it in rice to dry. Nothing. I finally found this RUclips video, watched it once to check it out. Then watched it again as I dismantled the phone, removed moisture and corrosion that I found inside and then re-assembled my phone. I plugged it in and voila!!! Like Lazarus back from the dead my iPhone 5 is back to life. Best RUclips video ever!
I want to thank you for doing this instructional video. There are a LOT of iPhone 5 disassembly videos out there, and I looked at many of them before starting, but this one is by FAR the best (and, with full reassembly instructions). I have now fully disassembled (and reassembled!) my iPhone 5 twice thanks to this video (to replace the rear case).
I watch a lot of these videos because I do repairs for business. I must say your tutorials are of the best on the net! Thank you for your hard work! It is very much appreciated.
wonderful to know you are in repair business, as it is very good business. So you have all the machines already? Now most efficient machines are automatic machines.
you're by far the best to watch. Also you do everything in the correct order. A lot of others don't unplug the battery 1st. Which I heard can cause problems if you unplug other flex cables while battery is still plugged in.
OMG! Thank you so much. This video helped significantly. I was able to remove all my components into a new frame without a hassle. I ran into a small panic when I sliced a small bit of the ribbon near the volume. But everything works great! Again, Thank you!
the screwdrivers are shown and mentioned at 0:07 I think the philips is size 00 but it might be 000 you'll have to see which one fits best. The most important thing is to keep track of the screws
Keeping track of the screws in one of the hardest parts, but if you print out the flow chart and glue it onto styrofoam you can push the screws into the chart..
Thank you for the reply, I figured it out... though it was different on 3GS. It worked different I think. The screen lines are due to the wet tissue I used to clean the LCD as the dry one left tiny particle things on it. Eventually I used that micro fiber cloth that came with my Glasses which fixed the issue. Thank you~
Fantastic and in dept dis/re-assembly. Bookmarked for later, but fun to watch now out of interest for the build quality/solutions inside. One question; do you have any idea how those top and bottom glass inlays are attached to the aluminum body itself?
Hey, your video was really helpful and it's sure is one of the best tutorials on RUclips BUT... I was really disappointed on since this is a complete teardown, and you didn't tear everything :(. For example : 1. The black plastic in the housing cover inside the microphone jack and charging port, you didnt show how to take them off. 2. And the metal "pin" on the power button. 3. And the round metal plates on every buttons. The last thing is really a matter of taste, but its easier to start rebuilding with the charging/microphone assembly before putting the "mainboard". AND your double sided tape screw template is just GENIUS, thank you very much for that. Helped a lot.
No I just recently bought the color conversion pieces for the back glass for my black iPhone 5 I wanted to see if you would make a video to show how to take it out and pop out the camera and flash lens thanks
Hi .. Is it possibel to replace the Sim Reader on the mainboard, if so could you make a short video to show me? Thank you for all the excellent videos ...
Hello sir ! I am a fan of your work and you are the best at what you're doing (av watched other videos but none have such explanations and methods) I would like to ask you about the repairability factor of the Iphone 5, on a scale of 1 to 10, from too hard to repair to very easy to repair (factors included in this evaluation are of course the disassembly and assembly, then replacing parts and availability) thank you so much sir for the efforts and for making this videos in Full HD regards Sifou
+Arnold animado Yes just go very slowly and carefully and you should be OK. The iPhone 5 is really not too difficult, ipad is much worse! Most important is to keep a note of where screws go as they are different types sizes. What are you fixing?
Steve Powell Yes, I already have the image of the video printed in order to keep the screws organised. I wanna change the back housing because this one is broken, every part of the system is ok. That's the reason why I'm asking you about this. I don't wanna make any mistake. To be honest, I 'm little scared and nervous.
Arnold animado It will be ok - as I say the main thing is to note where everything goes. Apart from that you will be fine. Be careful when separating the lcd from casing - make sure all cables are disconnected. Take a picture of your phone at each stage so you have a record of how things look and where stuff goes.
Hello. Could you show us in next video where are nfc, bluetooth, gsm, gps and wifi antenas? Or where is gyroscop, ascelerometer? I want to learn it. Thank you :) I like your videos so much.
Great video, like all ones you've done. I learn about the phones and improve my English asame time. Good accent by the way. And just one question: Did you buy all those phones or your friends don't care enough about theirs devices? Greetings from Brazil!
Thanks for posting the video. Is it possible to obtain a new chassis? I dropped my phone and dinked the chamfer on the top corner. I imagine this video would enable me to transfer everything over to a new chassis if one were available? If you know where I could get one could you post a link up please?
Im changing the midframe. so i will just need to Disassemble and the put all back at the new Midrame ? and what ScrewDrivers i need ? Thank You in advanced, great video helped a lot ! hop you will write back :)
I wonder who would dislike this video? not android lovers because iphone gets opened, not apple lovers because its displaying how amazing is apple assembly..
I think this covers removing everything for a case change, apart from the top and bottom glass which is glued in place. I do have a replacement case sitting here and it comes with most of the parts already installed, so its only the mainboard that needs moving over
Thank you very much dear friend (also for the -much appreciated- quickness in answering me)! Well... it's somehow what I was suspecting (but... is it really possible to damage the display flex also without tearing or forcing it too much?)... And (sorry... but I assure you that is my last question)... very IMPORTANT: can we be totally sure that we can exclude something else involving the motherboard? Only just to avoid buying a new screen, and then finding that it doesn't turn on as welll :(( )?
I'd like to ask you, great videos, by the way, how do they know, i mean a warranty services, that i have been intruded into phone, and void the warranty? Any moisture sensors are intact, also, there are no any stickers witch can be damaged through reassembly/disassembly...
This is the best video that I've seen. so far. plus the chart! im getting my new gold 24k crystal housing sat. and will be doing it myself! I can't wait to get it and master it I've watched this video like 5 times and going to keep watching it untill i master it lol Thanks man And once im done I will take a pic and show you!!!
***** If I had a camera I would deff do it and shout you out! But Im going do do a complete housing swap. Do I have to take the brackets from the side of the old iphone n put them in the new one? this is my first time ever!!
hello i believe i saw a video how to replace a iphone 4 lcd digitizer.but i cant find the link,do you still have it.by the way your videos are very helpful.thumbs up
You sir are a legend, how is it that you know so much about the internals. Do your purchase faulty phones and practise? It must be an expensive hobby :-) but seriously keep up the videos!
Hi.Thanks for a brilliant tutorial. Keep them coming. Where can I buy the magnetic screw size flow chart. I am always mixing up the screws. Many thanks.
hi mate, thanks for your hep on th s4 video , i have a question about the iphone 5 now. basically , i have brought a new housing, and you know the power button, on the right hand side of it there is like a hinge part on it which keeps it in place, the new howsing didnt come with that, do these lift off so i can swap it over . or are they fixed to the hosusings
its kind of covering all, but when you get a new midframe you get also the volume buttons, the lock button and more so and its a little bit different. if you dont want to do its ok, this video is fine too :)

Whatever you do don't skip the "boring" parts or add music. Your videos are awesomely professional and educational.
The best teacher to learn how to fix your iPhone

got a screen and housing on ebay for £40 and was able to install them with this tutorial! the magnified video was really handy, thanks
I wouldn't have been able to completely replace my iPhone 5 Frame without this tutorial. Thank you so much!
I finally finished replacing the flex cable for the volume-switch. Fortunately the Power-Button works again and the iPhone swell!
Thanks!
you're by far the best to watch. Also you do everything in the correct order. A lot of others don't unplug the battery 1st. Which I heard can cause problems if you unplug other flex cables while battery is still plugged in.
+Vlad P I'm about to do this process. Did you do it seeing this video? Can I trust on the video? sorry my english, please
Your voice and way to do things gives me alot of confidence in doing this, thank you!
Even though I don't own an Apple iPhone myself, I value the effort you put into them.
Thanks for doing so!
OMG! Thank you so much. This video helped significantly. I was able to remove all my components into a new frame without a hassle. I ran into a small panic when I sliced a small bit of the ribbon near the volume. But everything works great! Again, Thank you!
How can this video possibly have ANY downvotes? So thorough and helpful. Thank you so much.
You sir, are a legend. This is awesome, although, I did mess up the screen, so it no longer works. That was my fault though, you're awesome.
the screwdrivers are shown and mentioned at 0:07 I think the philips is size 00 but it might be 000 you'll have to see which one fits best. The most important thing is to keep track of the screws

Kudos to Apple for making screen replacement easier!
Like your lessons, very helpful even for someone who hasn't hold a screwdriver in their life.
Excellent instructional video! Thank you for taking the time to film this disassembly.
Thanks for the video you the only one to go step by step . Because I disassemble my iPhone with a different guy and never cutting put back together.
Thank you for the reply, I figured it out... though it was different on 3GS. It worked different I think.

Watching these is like magic.
the best video i've seen so far... Thanks man... In Greek Ευχαριστώ!!!!
This is like the best repair video ever
Fantastic and in dept dis/re-assembly. Bookmarked for later, but fun to watch now out of interest for the build quality/solutions inside. One question; do you have any idea how those top and bottom glass inlays are attached to the aluminum body itself?
Could you do a video where you switch the backs of a Black iPhone 5 and a white one. That would be really cool to see.
Hey, your video was really helpful and it's sure is one of the best tutorials on RUclips BUT...
