so i didnt race this season as i have to much going on with moving ect so i sent all my young birds to my friends loft so he can race them and see how they all go for this years pigeon racing season!

Never heard of this until today. I'm curious, you said the race was 130km. That's roughly 80 miles for us Americans. That's pretty far. What is the success rate of birds making it back "home" or whereever it's trained to come back. Do all of them make it back 100% of the time or no?

It's like this... On day of race no other birds should be let out to even loft fly.. keep them in then let them out after the race .. not just for his own race bird but for others.. if his birds are loft flying they could distract other people's race birds returning... It's is frowned upon here to loft fly while a race is going

I love birds very much but here in India, people fly kites the string of which gets entangled in tree branches or electric wires, birds get trapped in these strings and die a slow painful death. I wish and pray kite flying is banned in our India and is declared a punishable offence.

Very good, my advise get the birds that are lingering on the loft. and no birds should be out except maybe a dropper, even a dropper , should be inside and go, once your bird arrives home. lingering birds , you loose time.. should trap, dont over feed birds, until the race is over. If your birds dont trap fast , one? you may have over feed them prior to the race, or the driver may have over feed , if he did prior to release. Remember a sense of urgency to trap is what you want .. Randy Barnes , Crossview lofts, San Diego, ca.

Yes it is the one i hand raised and yes there is 6 storm x leo babies and all returned on the day which is good!
