I used to visit Egypt regularly in the 90's but I cannot handle it now. Far too many aggressive shopkeepers, scammers and touts. At times it literally feels like they climb onto your shoulders to hassle you, especially when it comes to shoppping. You cannot buy anything without someone trying to rip you off. It's unfortunate that it's like this now but I'm hopeful that things will get better in the future!
I agree with you on this, I travel to many countries like Turkey India etc.. not once have I been approached nor touched like what happened to us. Never again will I go back unless they do more to make sure foreigners are more protected specially us women.

Also if you are into Pharaonic era you can go to Aswan and see some Magical places by the Nile and can go to place called Nuba very gorgeous colorful place with southern Egypt culture mixed with nubian culture You can go to abou simbel the farthest point in south Egypt and one of the greatest temples in Whole Egypt I will consider passing Luxor for a day with tour guide is essential in that place it is rich historical place but unfortunately has so many scammers so I recommend to go with Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor it is including the most historical places there with tour guide without you having to go to the city center where the scammers exists and actually 90% of the historic places are outside the city I hope I did help you in how to enjoy Egypt and avoid scammers as much as you can

Laban is milk only in Egypt. The rest of the Arab world call yoghurt "Laban". Haleeeeeb is milk everywhere. but in egypt they like to call it laban. It was also confusing for me as well as an arab first time in Egypt.
@@Aemond-qj4xt bro thats not true if that was the case the Company Juhayna would have said it is laban (full fat) instead they call it haleeeb (milk) Full fat. Juhayna is one of the biggest companies in the Arab world and known for their Dairy products. So your argument reflects only the Egyptian Dialect only even the Business sector and the marketing they call it Haleeeb (Milk) in Egypt. Because they don't care about this confusion and they stick with the majority of arabs.

These guys really should learn how to do business. Its just way better to list fixed prices so everybody knows what the deal is like in normal countries. You get more selling to 10 people rather than ripping 1 person off. Plus it scares people off, I mean , its fun to haggle once or twice but after that you just dont bother anymore because its just too much of a hassle. And most tourists wont even bother at all because they know they will try to overcharge and just walk on. Just look at a country like India where tourists feel very comfortable about going about and try different things because you know up front (in most places at least) how much something is going to cost and you can spend your time enjoying instead of stressing out.
Is it common for countries to have different prices for tourists? In North America prices are the same for everyone. Everything is overpriced for locals and tourist alike.
Been watching your videos for a while and just found out your on the other side of the divide 😂won’t make me enjoy the vids any less tho keep it up man 👍
Sorry to hear about the shoe cleaner. I think if his daughter is reading in the University, at least she should have the common sense to realise her father is doing nothing wrong, he is doing a profession with honesty
@@starlight8290 yes,I understood that. What I am trying to say is her peers mocked her saying that her father is a shoe cleaner but she instead of taking that as an insult, should have defended her father because it's his hard earned money that he spent to send her to the university. Instead she confronted her father and passed on the insults. Everyone is not born with a silver spoon in their mouth. The shoe cleaner worked hard to send his daughter to university which according to me is a great achievement. She should be proud of her dad but she said something which hurt the man. As I say- I can bear the pain form people throwing thousands of stones at me but a single people thrown at me by my own hurts the most.

I really felt Egyptians to be more friendly even I remember, one person was smiling at me from his car as he drove by while I was standing on the side to cross. Thank you for your generosity not only to the Egyptian people but also to the wee street cats ❤️ Big heart!
I'm happy watching you. I hope you are always safe and take care wherever you go. greetings from Philippines.I wish you visit Philippines too.
The best people are always the ones taking care of the animals. God bless this man.
Such a nice video dale, loved it! 😊
Anyone who cares for Animals is a good person . 🐾😻Thank you for showing kindness .
The restaurant with English menu, English prices were between 25% and 50% higher. For example falafel in Arabic was 25LE and English 50LE.
Also the falafel shop with the kid definitely ripped you off. Usually street falafel costs 5LE and they charged you 15 and 30. Still cheap as dirt even compared to middle class area of Cairo.
They did offer him 5LE however if he look it without the bread and other add-ons.
Wow!
He was trying to say aruz bi laban. which is rice with milk. I've been learning arabic so its cool to see videos like this where i can pick up words.
23:22 ‘Egyptian nuts’ on my dessert…..yeah I think I’ll pass on that mate sounds nice though 😂….great video mate!
Yesss! i got so happy when I saw those Portuguese people!!! VIVA PORTUGAL!!!🇵🇹 Dale u really need to visit the Portugal Azores Islands!! The island Sao Miguel is absolutely STUNNING so beautiful!! Active volcanos, hot springs, green mountains, ocean everywhere. But the best most fun time to go is at the End of August when they have the Feasts! It's seriously an amazing experience! The Red Bull divers go there bc it has amazing places to dive into the ocean.
Took so long for the new video to upload, I was waiting for you to upload here in RUclips to see the complete video because I enjoy it that way and kept avoiding the one in Facebook clips to not spoil it for me😂
I used to visit Egypt regularly in the 90's but I cannot handle it now.
The current generation, our baby boomers, are horrible creatures and they made Egypt a living hell for everyone but they'll die out and believe the younger generations are waaay more tolerant educated and civilized
I recommend to stay away especially in Cairo and Luxor from tourist places go to local ones like middle class region like Heliopolis, Zamalek and Maadi
You will not face that hustle
Also I recommend to go to special gorgeous cities like Hurghada, Dahab, Marsa Alam ( one of the best marine life and diving spots in the world) also for another side for Egypt many don’t know about Siwa ( big oasis in the middle of desert) has beautiful salt lakes and meditation element in minimal and boho style hotels and its culture is so unique and no modern civilization and has kind people.
Also if you are into Pharaonic era you can go to Aswan and see some Magical places by the Nile and can go to place called Nuba very gorgeous colorful place with southern Egypt culture mixed with nubian culture
You can go to abou simbel the farthest point in south Egypt and one of the greatest temples in Whole Egypt
I will consider passing Luxor for a day with tour guide is essential in that place it is rich historical place but unfortunately has so many scammers so I recommend to go with Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor it is including the most historical places there with tour guide without you having to go to the city center where the scammers exists and actually 90% of the historic places are outside the city
I hope I did help you in how to enjoy Egypt and avoid scammers as much as you can
@@MarinaRiadCooks I visited Aswan and the Nubian people and did the whole Nile river route. Still we were harassed too much.
@@Felicia790 I am sorry to you to go through that I apologies to you on behalf my country. It shouldn't have happened and it is very concerning.
But my intention was that I saw mostly positive experiences from Tourists about these places. Also I know that my country is very beautiful and magical in terms of nature and history and has different rich cultures that are very amazing to any individual to experience so I don't want anybody to miss it or afraid to experience because of those bad people
also I understand to chose to not to take the risk. But I believe you can avoid most of it just by investing in a really good experienced tour guide or if you know local people and more search before taking a tour or going to a specific city or location . I think Egypt is worth the visit not only for the pyramids. It has so much great things beside that.
I love your market tours always so chaotic love it! Greeting from Amsterdam
New subscriber here! The front cover of this video makes me giggle! The huffy man got the front cover 😂
When I was a kid I learned a lot about Egyptian history. I always wanted to go there one day. Great country, rich cultures, amazing people and of course yummy food. Hope I can make it there next year. Dale thanks for sharing. Amazing videos as usual. Cheers bro!
Egypt is a country of scammers.
No visit egypt ITS very dangerous
I did too until I found out its full of scammers
@@AlexG-pt2zs thats every country my dude not just eygpt plus its not really its just with other people that arent arabs since we think they are just spoiled rich brats who never tasted the true taste of how life is hard since our country has been in a bad state since half of our history we have been invaded and had 0 space to catch a breath untill 2011 bec we also had civil wars

You are inspiring me everyday Dale 🤠❤️
The only thing he inspires me is a early death ( Coke Zero )
@@seangraham9065 it's based on his liking and he looks very fit and his in shape of a perfect man
Always look forward to your videos Dale brother… luv from Canada 🙏🏽
Cats were first domesticated in Egypt and they were first venerated by the Egyptians 5000 years ago, around 3100BC.
Love your videos big fan from Ireland 🇮🇪
That jersey shop owner was a genuinely good man. You don’t meet many guys like that these days.
Great video. You managed to capture the real atmosphere of Khan and Khalili market. Try looking above the shops to see wonderful architecture of the Middle Ages. Keep up the good work.
The falafel kid was actually telling the cashier "charge him 30 and give 15 to me because I'm filming for him" 😅
I've only seen your content a few times, it's very interesting for me to feel the atmosphere and uniqueness in various countries through your videos, I support you bro
Laban is milk only in Egypt. The rest of the Arab world call yoghurt "Laban".
Haleeeeeb is milk everywhere. but in egypt they like to call it laban.
It was also confusing for me as well as an arab first time in Egypt.
Quintuple e?????
Hassan
Not really. In South Yemen in the port city of Aden, Laban means Milk. So you are wrong.
yeah and it's called laban in the quran < and that's the most important
bro milk is laban we call it correctly. yogurt is zabady its not our fault the rest of the arab world has them confused
Media and other RUclipsrs shows bad side of #Egypt meanwhile Dale won our heart showing this beautiful video and people in a country 🇪🇬 💓🇳🇵🇳🇵
I watch Dale because he shows places I wouldn’t want to physically go to. I can’t be doing with all the hard sell, con tricks, sharp practise and bothering that exists in the countries. When I go on vacation I don’t want any of that, so I now stay away from such places. But it is good to visit vicariously 👍
you made the kids day when you gave him that tip bro. commendable!
Dale love this video pal, really enjoyed it mate all the best on your continued journeys
*Another great video Dale. Fair play helping the cats.* 🐱
*Greetings from Seattle...*
I swear the guy on the left of the thumbnail looks like a character I have seen in a Disney cartoon 🤣
Love the ending with the cats. You should do more animals in these different places. Just to see how they are fed and entreated?
Congratulations on 1m dale 🏴 💙💙
13:20 he literally lied to you he said it was ten pounds and the kid or cameraman said “I’ll charge him thirty” I know this because I am Egyptian
what a little 3ars
cheating bastards
I didn't see anything more expensive than 7 pounds on the menu posted on the wall. I would not pay more than 5 pounds for that last sandwich. Wonder what the local price was. Thanks for being honest, as a proud Muslim should always be. ❤️
Really appreciate you ♥️🙏🏻
keep it lit dale, was waiting all week for this video 😎
Well done the cameraman he did a brilliant job.
8:23 the guy at the back is pointing at the table 🤣
*Anyone who goes out and works is worthy of respect regardless their job. I would say the "friends" of the shoe cleaner's daughter are the ones that are no good for making fun of her father's job, not Luke for filming him.* 39:44
I thought the same thing. Not Luke's fault for filming. It's the so called friends that bullied the daughter.
Man you are a legend for doing these vids, they are really great to watch. Wish you all the best in life brother
I am from Egypt and very sad. Regarding the falafel sandwich, its price is about 3 or 5 pounds, and it took 15 pounds from you
Should have bargained!
@@Dale_Philip This video is full of exorbitant prices, not the basic prices😆😆
My favorite is the guy with the drums. Its the greatest noise ever. At 28:33 I was sad because I thought he finished but at 28:55 I was rejoiced to hear that beautiful sound once more.
Dale a great adventure again
You are very good RUclipsr and I really love your attetued and your kindness very easy going and informative

In Egypt, the word "Laban لبن" means Milk and not Yogurt, unlike other arab countries where Laban means yogurt and "H'aleeb حليب" means Milk .
If you want Yogurt in Egypt, you use the word "Zabaadi زبادي" which means Yogurt.
In Yemen, Haleeb means milk, Laban means buttermilk, and Zabaadi means yogurt.
Congrats for 1M subs Dale!
19:38 How rude for slapping him because he didnt buy more ...what is wrong with ppl?
Some people really love the tourist money but really hate tourists.
Dude in 9:37 is the perfect pick for a sponsored ad Dale. 😂 I'd hire him in the blink of an eye! 👍
Dale is an international Star ✨
Anyone can recognize him
The cats fighting and him breaking up their fight was too funny 😂😂😂 he got mad at the cat starting the fights and asked for a stick 🤣🤣
been absolutely binging your vlogs , they make me want to go explore so badly! starting my morning strong with this one
am i right that you haven't been to Morocco? maybe i've missed it in yer catalogue - from one Scot to another i recommend Marrakech and Essaouira! i had a very kind guide there who was so patient and generous toward me and my mother (though he might have fallen a little bit in love with her, i don't think he'd have driven us to the most amazing sunset view from the Atlas Mountains for free otherwise lol) and we've stayed in touch ever since. Great food and conversation there, and some wonderful people. I'd love to see you tackle it some day!
Take care, Dale! Love from Glasgow!
edit: *Love from Galaxo 💙🤍
For some countries, yes, it's normal, even by the government, setting higher prices for tourists at national parks etc.
It was her peers not her
@@starlight8290 yes,I understood that.
I like how you're pretty much the only one in the video in shorts and a t shirt.
Try Koshary, greek breakfast(Yogurt, strawberry and honey),Egyptian dates, sweets, mango drink and some other delicacies. I liked the lemon mint drink. There is a lot of sugarcane there. If you do visit Luxor and want Indian food, find a restaurant called-Taste of India, east bank of Luxor. We visited it 2 times during our stay, the chef was good and he said he liked Indians. I am sure he will remember us. We even took a photo with him. The food is good but with limited options which is understandable. Indians very popular there because of Indian film actors- Amitabh Bacchan, Saharukh Khan,Salman khan and many other Indian people. I really felt Egyptians to be more friendly even I remember, one person was smiling at me from his car as he drove by while I was standing on the side to cross. I noticed him and smiled back and then he nodded his head. The only thing surprising was even in March, the cold was there and for us it was not berable. They said there was a cold wave hit the area. Also we took photo with our different guides, the hotel staff in which we stayed. My FB profile says 3 places I want to visit-Egypt,Jerusalem and heaven.I guess one place is fulfilled.
God bless you brother!!
@@timeisup6844 Thanks brother. I am planning to visit again and many times if possible. Only if i have money. But if I do again, this time I will go the Abu simbal and Aswan which I could not cover. Also the oasis-Siwa.

I like the summary at the end, dale.
also I notice you're saying the converted prices (for almost everything), that's also great! I didn't see how much the tip was to the small boy, that's something I usually am curious about. overall a good video though.
What an awesome place... so much stuff to see and buy! Such a pity I'm not there to see everything up-close🤩
Well done brother Dale. Another great video
