I weep listening to the Beautiful voice, The Passion & Soul of this Artist as a few Others have Mentioned...... How Many Kings is My FAVORITE that I have Heard..... Yes I AM a Queen/Freddie Mercury Fan since age 2 (Freddie died right before I was Born) but How Many Kings is how I became Aware of this Amazing Talented Man!
He is just so damn good. I saw Queen in 1975 when Freddy had just cut his hair. It was magnificent. Marc completely reminds me of Freddy. Bravo Bravo!!!
Queen has known about this man for 7 years, he even sings in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie, but they still has not made him frontman of Queen. What a big big mistake. Freddie would be proud over this man.
Marc, I am an unconditional Brazilian fan of Queen and I can say with all certainty that our dear Freddy Mercury is very happy when he hears you sing his beautiful songs. A hug my friend. I'm your fan.
Queen + Marc Martel please, great performance. I'm looking forward to hearing Breakthru, Scandal, The Miracle, How can I go on etc, Marc Martel, thanks so much!!!
Marc you have a beautiful voice ... I'm a fan of Queen since I was 10 and I'm 38 (I'm also a musician) ... I'd like you to sing Spread your wings !!!!!!!!!!! Thanks greetings from Argentina, Mar del Plata
we love you Marc, please confirm you're coming to Mexico(Queretaro - Auditorio Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez) as it's published on your site but in their site you don't appear scheduled.
Wow! Marc will be in Mexico with Ultimate Queen Celebration next May 2, 3, 4 and 6 (Sala Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico City). Not with an orchestra this time, but a full-blown rock'n'roll concert!
Sad that he doesn't realize how big "How Many Kings?" is, as compared with songs which will not stand the test of eternity. Sad to see that become a faint glimmer in what is now the past. The song is my favorite of Downhere's song list.
I think he knows it's significant. It still gets played on my local radio during the Christmas season. But outside of North America and the Christian Contemporary Music industry, I don't know how well it's really known.
I cry Every time I hear How Many Kings! That's how I found Marc Martel! He is Such an Extraordinary Talent. GOD Has Ultimately Blessed This Man with a GIFT Beyond Measure!
If you search How Many Kings covers here on RUclips, you will find hundreds covering it, people from all over the world. Here is a playlist of some of them: ruclips.net/p/PLyYxA03TrC59sV1ye1bKt6e4xNpHgPorz
Marc can sings all song's of queene Adam sing 2 or 3 songs of queene😅😅😅 all fans of queene want a old queene than the new queen... New queen sounds like an audition anytime you wil say NO .... NO ... NO.. Its BIG NO😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 BRian said he dont want a guy impersonait freddie but what do you call for choosing adam???? He imitator freddie like a gayshiiit😅😅😅😅😅😅
Shitty microphone (the EQ didn't help). He should just carry around his own with him and use that everywhere instead. Apart from that, much better as far as the performance is concerned. XD Still lacks the connection to the lyrics and emotion of the original though if I'm honest. I actually only say that because I know he's otherwise capable of fully delivering.
Freddie is the songwriter, of course he's deeply connected to the lyrics. I can be nitpicky about Marc singing Love of My Life, for example, but it's pointless. I'm okay with his angry psychotic Evil Disney Prince version. _He sounds like a caged animal, a fucking killer._
Lol, what? Not sure what you were trying to say with the latter part. Also, you can be deeply connected to a song/lyric without being the songwriter, unless you're just like forced to do a song you don't actually like. In any case, the thing I'm talking about is often what makes or doesn't make a performance for Marc. Don't see the issue with pointing it out.
Typhoon792 He's feeling the song in his own way, I'd argue. If it sounds forced and unnatural, maybe some people are more sensitive to that stuff, that's possible. I'm fine if he's not tragically dying inside feeling all those deep emotions every time he sings the song live. Freddie was unique communicator of emotions, maybe it came at a price one way or another.
Hmm, ok. You may be fine with that (as well as I, at times), but that wouldn't really negate the criticism (which shouldn't inherently come across as incendiary). When he feels, he feels just fine. There are many markers which indicate whether one feels it or not, and having listened to nearly every little thing he's sung, I can confidently say he was just mimicking in this case. I'm always looking for him to put himself forward - not necessarily Freddie. Regardless of who's song, that requires you to invest yourself in the moment. Singing is kind of ridiculous where even if you technically feel you're doing exactly the same thing, every nuance and thought you have actually audibly comes across in the vocal (I've found out for myself when recording). You really can't intend for something to come across, you have to be confident in it technically (having practiced it enough) to just give yourself to it (and care to do so). I understand why Marc wouldn't care to do so when told to just sing something on the spot and out of context (actually bothers me that people ask him to do that, as if it's a pony show), as it takes more energy and conditioning, but if I've never heard him put his all into a song and he's giving performances of it, yeah, I will tend to be more critical. I kind of just don't see the point of doing it otherwise tbh...
Typhoon792 Funny, your comment might as well be mine. In fact, I think QEL refers to my previous comment that Marc sounded cold and somewhat aggressive singing this song. I love Marc's sensibility and his music intelligence. He is magnificently talented! And, granted, no one can be brilliant all the time. Freddie had pitch problems galore and "tore his chords to shreds," but one thing he never got wrong, which is the intention with which he approached each song. For example, in the Love of My Life he never wondered around the stage. It's as if he would choose one person in the back row to sing to and wouldn't take his eyes off of them, hand on heart so to speak. When he sang YTMBA, it sounded like he was lullabying the most precious child he's so afraid to lose. You can have your own take on a song, but you still have to have the right intention to convey the musicality of the piece and the lyrics. That's where the artistry comes in. Having said that, this time Marc sounded so much softer than in the original video he posted, and I thought it was more touching. It will get more and more honest, you will see. Marc is a smart performer, so he will find a way to connect with his audience.
You Take My Breath Away starts at 8:57 ... (hands over oxygen mask)
Where's the fan?
@@artfulstories Is it hot in here now too?! Oh dear!
Marc is truly astonishing singing Freddie’s songs, he’s also truly astonishing in his own right as a gifted singer /musician.

If it's on Marc's official site, then 99% it's going to happen. If anything goes as planned, it's still October 4.

Marc remade the song on his 2017 Christmas album.
