As a German Moroccan, the authorities must put traffic signals in the pedestrian lane so that cars can stop and allow pedestrians to pass. I do not know why this thing does not exist in Morocco, even though we are not far from Europe, where this system exists in every pedestrian lane.
Dude I came back to Morocco after 10years in Europe and never regretted it. The only thing that I miss is the driving. Like you I don't get how this isn't implemented yet, not only the crossing lanes but traffic and the atrocious taxies too. I have a feeling they're gonna do something now that the world cup is coming (at least I hope it's true).
That is a major road but the crossing place it at the end by traffic lights. I know the area very well. You just have to walk to the traffic lights instead of crossing straight! Here in the USA, we don’t have crossing for pedestrian in major roads. Some roads don’t have it all.

In the North of Morocco, Tangiers and Tetouane, they stop for pedestrians all the time. In Casablanca, Rabat, etc. They don't 😂
