    I still hope to see watch you do, some day soon, a thorough review of the 12H-T engine (that came in the LC60 series) just like you did for the 1HD-FTE 😀

      Thanks for watching 😁 I plan on doing 1HD-FT and 12HT very soon. 60 series deep dive might happen later as I fear I can't do the 60 series as in depth as the 80 series one (which is still not finished uploading the whole thing as of January 20 2023)

    good content bro! your audio now is way better. our videos are a great help distinguishing LC80 from each other. especialy here in South east asia. its oly you who made a content about lc 80 variants. hope you recitify the previous videos where the audio cant be comprehended. kudos!!!

      Hi there, thanks for watching and appreciate the feedback as I always strive to do better. This video is using my comica boomxd as my lav mic and setting it up is abit tricky as I'm fresh to the setup coupled with my Sony A7ii camera as the new rig too

      I myself own a FZJ80 series and I wouldn't call the L-edition the best of the LC80. I find it's more of a downgrade compared to a HDJ81 VX Limited. It's basically a Lexus LX450 with a diesel engine. I also did some research and here are the downgrades that I found:
      - No roof console with the altimeter and compass
      - No center console ice cool box
      - It comes with the crappy black sidesteps with no front mud flaps and weird end cap that is mounted on the bottom of the rear doors (same as the US version). This a massive downgrade compared to the standard sidestep on the VX Limited.
      - Same black plastic rear bumper center step plate that covers the cross member as the LX450. Downgrade from the metal one on a regular 80 series land cruiser
      - Unique grille that is the same as the LX450 but with a Toyota logo. A downgrade because it is not compatible with aftermarket replacement headlights like the DEPO clear lens or the quad sealed beam headlights. Even in Japan you will find that most of these grills are replaced with the standard post '95 facelift grills.
      - no rear tire carrier, this one is a massive lost especially for you Americans that want a diesel 80 series with the rear tire carrier
      - Because it's diesel HDJ81 means no 3rd row seats, no rear AC and no rear sliding windows
      - These came with the HF2AV transfer case with viscous limited slip. so no center diff lock button, but you can add the switch because the wiring is still included behind the dash and you can still buy the switch brand new from Toyota.
      -Lastly these did not come with front and rear diff locker. I'm not sure on this one because most of the ones for sale do not have them.
      So in summary it's just a Lexus Lx450 but instead of gasoline a turbo diesel engine. They are quit expensive considering these downgrades and not much upgrades other than the thick side mouldings. Not worth it in my opinion.
