I know every area is different but for us here in central Maryland we target the Middle Class Baby Boomers that are retired with good pensions. The ones that are willing to pay extra to have a dependable and trustworthy Lawncare provider. They never complain and the check is always in the mail each month and give us a Christmas bonus at the end of the year because they greatly appreciate what we do for them.
#5 Full Service Clients That's all I want. This clientele usually encompass the previous four great client characteristics that you mentioned. Great content and info.
I know you are speaking about most situations, but sometimes wealthy people are super cheap and condescending. Not always, but they exist. You see their house and know they have plenty of money but are so cheap.
I agree but its usually people with homes 900 k or over that beats your price down at the beginning and then pays every 3 months but not before they email complaining or questioning the bill or the amount of time you spent on the yard lol
yep. i live in a area where houses are rented all summer long. some of these people are bringing in 14k A WEEK but dont wanna pay $60 to have me cut their lawn. its insanity
Agreed. Some of the cheapest people I've worked for were multi millionaires. I won't even consider working for folks in that income stratosphere anymore
I have just gotten a client that wants to pay me upfront for the month. I did her yard 2 times in May she paid for those this month and also paid for the month of June. She gave me $300 which was $40 more than May and June combined. Her first mow was $60 because it was so high now I am on a weekly schedule of $40 per cut. So I received $40 more she wouldn't take it back. Because of it I got punched in the face 3 times. Did I do anything wrong when the client refused to take the extra money back?
Body language tells all! Next time you meet with a customer pay attention to how they are standing and their jesters. Are they facing you? Or turned away? Are their arms down to the side and palms open? Or hands in pockets? Arms crossed? Are they distracted and not paying any attention? These are subconscious ways of showing respect and certainly tells if they trust you enough to work on their property.

Insight!
I have found the best clients are the ones you never see. Im not saying that in a bad way either. You send them a bill or they pre pay for a season.
Best clients are never home to bother you, lol. They always seem to stop you as you strap the blower on.
Haha, that's the worst.
Love number 2's
