There are so many2.5gb POE products out there now, earth needs some really good 2.5Gbe passive and standard POE switches. The ones from AliBabba are crap and can’t do passive POE
Nice box... but why no 2.5/5 Gbit ports with PoE? RB5009 is cool but needs a companion with 10+ ports of at least 2.5/5Gbit and PoE, and 1 sfp cage to be able to link with RB via DAC of 10G.
I really like this device format cuz I've chosen smaller rack. BUT why do you keep producing 1Gb/s devices instead od 2,5Gb? The is a huge hole in the market. Switch with 8x 2,5Gb/s + 8x 1Gb/s POE++ would be perfect for home users.
Yep, that's my dream combo right there. Other than wireless APs, I don't need more POE bandwidth than gigabit given it's mainly IoT, cameras etc., and I can live with using injectors for the APs. Would love Mikrotik to use their SFP/copper combo ports more often too, as I'd rather keep everything on RJ45 and not introduce SFP into my setup if I can avoid it. Currently using a pair of Hasivo S600WP-4GT-2XGT-SE (2x 10GbE, 4x 2.5GbE POE+), but it's not totally ideal.
2x 10GbE + 8x 2.5GbE + 8x GbE POE+ in this half-width form factor, I beg! (or expressed another way, basically just a CRS310-8G+2S+IN plus 8x GbE POE+ ports)
The PSU is on the inside. I find this great - much better than having a bunch of bricks on the outside. PoE definitely could of been an option at that consumption
@aliancemd yeah but that's not the optimal solution, especially when you want 16 ports xD Sometimes I don't wanna open up the device first to replace a fan before I use it.
Where's the catch, general trend is 1/2,5/5 for small appliances but Mikrotik holds to 1G. I would buy this 16 ports switch immediately with at least 8 x 2.5 G ports.
Just got the CRS305-1G-4S+ and i love it. SFP+ for the fibers but what about a combo of 8x 1Gb POE+ and 8X 2.5Gbe ports. I still have my trusty TP-link TL-SG1016PE for my POE needs. If you get this combo package done i will for sure transfer fully to Mikrotik
So it is not compatible with RMK-2/10, and you cannot stack both CRS310-8G+2S+IN and CSS318-16G-2S+IN in 1U.... And this incompatibility is by 18mm... I went MikroTik but I don't know if it was the best decision. Generally I am happy, and probably I will design and 3d Print those mounts, but it would be nice to reuse your old products/mounts and ideas. And still waiting for PoE 2.5gb switch.
A switch like that is nice, but why SwitchOS??? For uniform management and to have STP it would be nice to run RouterOS on it. Even when it would be a stripped-down RouterOS that cannot route L3 and/or does not have all those facilities that users probably would want to use and then complain about the performance (similar on other CRS devices)...
I don't get it. I mean for some solutions 1G is enough but products like this are available in massive amounts. There are too few offers for 2.5G products. Make ! 2.5G ! Mainstream ! It is almost 2025. I need low cost 2.5G products. -- This but 2.5 would be awesome!
It's a bit of an odd product. Surprising that it's a new 1G switch instead of 2.5G in this day and age, and that it has no PoE or DC in support whatsoever. It's barely cheaper than the existing CSS326 (which does have DC and PoE in) so I don't know who would buy the CSS318 instead.
When they use DC, people complain that it doesn’t have an integrated PSU and need a brick. When they have an integrated PSU, people complain that it’s not using a brick…
This is EXACTLY what we need. The 24 port is just too many ports, and 8 ports isn't enough. Most of the systems we work with have no more than 1G networking (office systems, pre-builts, laptops, etc.) so this would work perfectly with our existing networks. Would love to know if an outdoor variant will be released in the future.
Seeing all these comments confirms that NOBODY likes SwitchOS ROS ALL THE WAAAY the one time i needed to use a CSS on a deployment i was banging my head against the wall. the UI SUCKS
I won’t buy 1G switches anymore but the fact that this has so many ports and it’s fanless, is quite tempting
This but 2.5gb 🙏 Please
and 8 1Gb POE+ or ++ ports. then i will buy

5Gbe..
this in 2.5 POE++ would corner the market what are you guys waiting for?
now make the same, just CRS.
Agreed. I refuse to use switch OS
@@scj643 Never used it before, routeros was amazing though
Same here .. with RouterOS it would have been a immediate buy for me.

Is CRS for 16 ports planned? I would like to see RouterOS

RouterOS and 48v input please !
same size but 2.5GBps please

I would prefer DC 12-60V variant, or POE in power input.
The PSU is on the inside. I find this great - much better than having a bunch of bricks on the outside.
PoE definitely could of been an option at that consumption
2.5GbE and some PoE and ill buy it
I need 2.5gbe x 16port version
WICKED !! Mikrotik is sure making lots of nice gear ! Can't wait for 2025 !!!
2.5G where?
If I buy something, it would be a fanless 2.5G Ethernet switch
CRS310-8G+2S+IN with a Noctua fan is completely silent
@aliancemd yeah but that's not the optimal solution, especially when you want 16 ports xD

I wish there was an option like this with 4x 10gb sfp+ ports.
THANK YOU! FINALLY!
We need 16-24 port 10G ETH under 1K euro. Come on already ......
Any PoE version of this?
Please Make more video about IPv6
What about 2.5Gbit/s? 1Gbit/s is useless in 2025.
This but with ROS please

Use the Netpower16P and be ready for the storm

Can it run OpenWRT?
Wow 🎉 tks you mikrotik. We really waiting that kind of switch low cost and 16ports
Ahh shit, we back in 2010 boys
13W while handling all of that, without a fan? Pretty sure 2010 didn’t do that

please realease 2.5G version of this with 2 fan we don"t want silence we want the sond of our network trafik
Why? Everything going forward should be miltigig
PoE version for 230 euro would be a steal.
Aliexpress 60 for 8ports 2.5 Poe
@@m1nusasusplus897 those are unmanaged switches

You should do CRS318 indoor version with poe and dual voltage like CRS112 have, not this useless shit... ideal 2,5G poe++
Come on guys, I bought 8ports 2.5Gbit POE from aliexpress for 60$, stop manufacturing such garbage.
