Extremely important to bring the decayed organic matter about 7in down to the surface and allowing the topsoil to refresh itself how do you guys not understand that? And if they could reach clay even more excellent for the soil but unfortunately, from too many years of plowing they've built up their topsoil too much to reach clay some farmers get bigger and deeper plows to reach clay.

@@oliveringram3056 uh no it would not, cultivation does not move the soil from 6 to 7 inchs deep. Cultivation loosens the soil and levels.

What is the point of ploughing this paddock of sand with a plough that takes probly a 15 ft cut? Why not use a 50 ft scarifier ? Takes a lot less power and a wider cut and job done in half the time. Still a great vid but these types of ploughs are very inefficient and cause hardpans. Its not like there were any weeds and shit that needed to be buried.

Why only 12 furrows behind a such powerful tractor? The soil seems to be very sandy.
Speed; and how can you transport more furrows? The engine is probably idling at a economic RPM with this setup, offering comfort to both driver and whoever is paying the gas bill.
@@xSCHEF Sorry, but if I'm informed correctly, plowing is more efficient using more bottoms, instead of working with more speed. Besides, abrasive wear increases quadratically with inceasing speed. Transport may be a problem in the back of the tractor, 'cause a 12-bottom-plow is a really large vehicle, but there ist some more space in front of the tractor for further bottoms. (Former I thought a front-plow would be difficult to handle, but ist seems to work.) This would extend working width and reduce the number of turning maneuvers - witch mean lost time. Admittedly, an unsolved problem will be the further packer roller.
If available, a smaller - and more cost-effective - tracter could be used, witch is working on capacity with the 12-bottom-plow.
Maybe we should basically think over the sence of plowing under thees conditions. There are a few other more economic methods to aerate the soil. By the way, such sandy soils have no disposition for compaction and I can see no weed or crop residues to be eliminated. We should also consider the loss of humidity as a result of deep soil tillage.
Anyway, we should trust in the competence of French farmers.

To move what is on top below and what is below on top no till seeders and plants can not do that.
And not necessary to do,fully respect farmers right to do what he wants,just saying can use a Väderstad driller under such conditions or other,farmer is throwing diesel out the window,but again,he has right to do it.Thank you.
@@claesmansson9070 No argument here but yes It might not be necessary you could keep on planting on top for years to come. But one problem their, you'll never be adding the necessary minerals that your plants need so you will find that you need more fertilizers every year. When you plow you bring the broken down deposits underneath on top and whatever is on the surface including manure you put below to re break down into what the plants need and if possible bring some clay up, clay is the heart of soil clay is pure fertilizer. (Not all clays, some only consist of a few minerals look for the dark colored clay.)
Here in Canada we will be running into a fertilizer crisis next year because a lot of your fertilizer is made out of country and they will not ship. Farmers will have no choice but to plow their fields.
Now Im just telling you how I grow.I just have a Kongskilde stubharve/think you maybe call it stubbleharrow?Its 10 metres wide and has 40 shanks.Each shank has a big S formed spring on top and at the bottom I prefer the 310 mm similar to 1 foot tip on each shank plus the 60 mm (?) regular tip on top of that,so the harrow is cutting full when its running through the soil,and with my tractor,which is a MF 9240 with Cummins 8,3 engine and some 250 hps it can go as deep as 15 cm s in first cut and maybe 20 cm s next time,this I have just tried to see when the tractor will stop and just stand on the same spot turning rearwheels digging itself down in gear 9 out of 18.I dont go deeper than the 15 cms,cause I dont think its necessary here,I have never used the 4 wheel drive,cause then I think I would have to put more weight to the front to be effective.I use the tractors draftcontrol to regulate the depth,cause I have only 2 wheels on the harrow allmost at the ends,so the harrow would bend down on the middle or opposite in other places as it is quite flexible if I didnt,the soil here is mostly category 6 so there are lots of clay and looks like only clay on the hill tops,worst hilltop is 20 % steep but tractor has no problems climbing if not wet.Havent ploughed in 10 years,so much less stones are being digged up and its super fast.Sometimes I use another common 8 m harrow on my old 826 after st.harr. sometimes not.Lots of worms in soil here.I think my combination tractor and implement fitted together is ok,think lots of times farmer buys a super strong tractor but keeps his small implement.Thank you.

"de la vraie terre" ? Et le sable c'est pas de la vraie terre ? C'est sûrement plus compliqué de faire pousser du maïs dans du sable que dans de l'argile ou du calcaire... C'est un savoir faire. C'est.une erreur de penser que la culture dans le sable c'est simple. Il faut moins de chevaux ça c'est certain. Mais ce n'est pas du tout facile à travailler

Quel intérêt du labour sur ce type de terre? Et si intérêt du labour quel intérêt du vinroculteur derrier la charrue avec les rouleaux ? C'est de la cendres...
Ça sera expliqué dans la prochaine vidéo, le labour dans le sable c'est vraiment pour aplanir au maximum la parcelle. Et le vibro il a aussi pour but de niveller. A mon avis c'était des terres à carottes juste avant, donc la parcelle devait être en mauvais état
