I've had to do a major declutter in our bedroom because we are doing a home renovation and since everthing had to come out of the room it was a good time to declutter I got 5 large garbage bags of donations have a blessed weekend sweety🫶🎄💕💞
One thing that I do for paper clutter is to sort my mail over my outside recycling bin. I don't bring any junk mail inside. Once it is inside I do my best to define a home for the paper - we have a file cabinet for our papers. For each of our two kids, we have one file organizer for each kid that has a folder per school year. For school papers that I need to hang on to in the short term, I have a magnetic clip on the refrigerator where they hang out.
I can completely relate to living in a smaller home and having very limited (almost nonexistent) storage space. My husband and I just moved into this house at the beginning of August and according to the realtors listing page, the home is 970 square feet. However, after we moved in here and things got a bit more settled, we took a tape measure on the outside and did some quick calculations and found out that in reality this house is probably closer to the 875 to 900 square foot range. The house has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom along with the normal living room and kitchen spaces plus a utility room that is directly off the kitchen and we also have no basement (just a dirt floor crawl space) and no finished attic. With this having been said, as you can probably imagine, all of the rooms contained within the interior of the home are incredibly small. The house was built in the 1950s and with this taken into consideration, the closets in the bedrooms are tiny as well. We literally have no closet in any room that is large enough to hold all of our clothing so my husband's clothes are in our main bedroom closet, mine are in the bedroom across the hall, and our seasonal coats and jackets are in the smallest bedroom across the hall from the bathroom. The kitchen is about the size of a postage stamp (not literally although there are days it feels like it) and there is an overall lack of cupboard space so our canned and boxed goods are kept on top of the very limited countertop space. We do have plans to eventually add in some additional cabinets, but like everything else, we are limited by time and money so in the meantime we have to make due. With all of this having been said, my long winded point to the comment is that I can absolutely 100% relate to the challenges and struggles that can come with living in a smaller home and having extremely limited storage options at one's disposal. We are fortunate in that we do have a longer one car garage and a storage shed in the backyard, but obviously there are items that cannot be safely stored in these spaces due to the fluctuations in temperature and humidity that come with living in Minnesota as well as the potential for there to be mice and other pesty critters and bugs.
Great video, Megan. Your room looks great. I love your bedding. My husband would not know what to do if I didn't put his clothes away 😂. He does all the cooking and grocery shopping, and I do the rest. It's worked for 23 years. Have a great weekend ❤
You did this because you love him... Putting his clothes away is a form of love its not suppose to be overwhelming. I didn that when I was married i kind of miss it now that we have been divorced. Keeping your house neat and always improving shows pride in what you have and a appreciation boy how hard you work band want to keep your home beautiful ... Love your sweet channel
Hey Megan, I love watching your videos all the time! I love seeing the before-and-after pictures because they're amazing! I can't wait to see more videos every week! I need to go through my clothes because I know there is stuff, I don't reach for every day of the week. I know if I'm decluttering, I'm going to donate some stuff. I'll throw it away if it's not in good condition. First, I sort everything into categories like tops, bottoms, and accessories to make it more manageable. Then, I try on each item to see if it still fits or if I genuinely like wearing it. Finally, I make three piles: keep, donate, and discard, ensuring only the items I love and use regularly stay in my wardrobe. When deciding which items to donate, consider whether the piece is still in good condition and if someone else could benefit from it. If you haven't wore it in the past year or it no longer fits your style, it's a good candidate for donation. I think about the joy or practicality it could bring to someone else, which can help make the decision easier. If my bedroom isn't cleaned or organized, I'll be so mad. I have a load of dishes in the dryer right now. I hope that I can fold it and get it put away. ❤❤❤
Miss Megan that was awesome you motivated me to do my family room and also I was surprised to hear your husband loves the WWE my older brother was a referee when it was WWF I my self new all of them Like The Hulk the undertaker Bret heart André, the giant it was a lot of fun
@ yes miss Megan I did we are still good friends a lot of them passed away now but I still keep in touch with the new and old my younger brother is a wrestling promoter a lot of the wrestler today work with him now
Wow!!!! The fact that people even comment that you do anything for your husband is insane. I can’t imagine not folding my husbands stuff and putting it away. People get to invested into strangers life. I mean I love your channel, but I would never think of telling you how to do things for your family. People are crazy! Anyways, thank you for another amazing video. Merry Christmas!
Your plants are so pretty. Are they real? I don’t go through my husband’s clothes. He’s an adult and he can put them away. I hardly ever fold my kids clothes either. We stuff them in drawers usually 😅
I honestly think you have way too many decorations for the size of your house. You have so much decoration that the surfaces you have are not usable. They also make your home more cluttered and make your daily items seem more like clutter. If you want to make your home feel more relaxed i would suggest less decorations.

Christmas seems to make all of our rooms messy, don’t you think 😜Merry Christmas 🎅🏼🎅🏼🎄🎄

I’m glad this video helped! I definitely feel your pain when it comes to storage in smaller homes.

But he does two of the most important things..the crocery and the Cooking..
And you do his clothes...

I have folded and put away my husbands clothes for 54 yrs. I do it because I want to. If he wanted it a certain way he would do himself.
