많이 아프셨다는게 느껴져요 노래할때 언제 호흡을하는지 거의 느낄수없는데 오늘은 호흡소리가 프레이저 끝나고 다음으로넘어갈때 많이들렸어요 마지막 모듈레이션 끝나고 3번째프레이져 할때(A5) 평소같으면 진성으로 처리할텐데 가성으로 처리했네요..성대상태가 최악이란거예요 마지막엔딩부분도 ,Bridge over.. 엔딩부분처럼 길게 끌고가지못하고 아주 짧게 끝내고말아서 살짝아쉬웠어요 ..또 한편으로 몸이안좋으니 초기프레이즈에 more than I can be..할때 평소와달리 묵직한저음이 나왔어요..하여간 기승전결이 분명한 무대였고 특히 의상(하얀드레스) 에 그위로 떨터지는 여러갈래의 그녀를 둘러싸는 조명 정말압권이었어요..그히고 수시로 바뀌는 조명색깔 이 차가운분위기에서 따뜨ㅅ한칼라로 바뀌는등 굉장히세심한 연출이네요 특히 돋보였던부분이 편곡입니다 완전히 오리지날리티를 훼손하지않으면서도 적절한변화를줘서 리곡은 커버라기보다 완전소향님의 레점드급 무대로 재탄생한겁니다 이렇게남겨주신무대를 우린보고 또보고 할수밖에없네요 특히 소향님이 이모든연출에 직접관여해서 완성시킨다니 도데체 그녀가 못하는게 뭘까요? 이무대이후 비긴아게인 으로 돌아올때까지 2년간 그녀는 모든방송에 흔적을남기지않네요 아마8번이나 그녀를괴롭힌 폐렴때문에 회복중 이어서 방송에 모습을 드러캐지 않으시고 아마도 책을계속 썼으리라봅니다 아뭏던 요즘은 방송이나 콘서트활동도 열심히하고계신걸로보아 건강이 많이회복되었카봅니다 부디 우리곁에 오래오래계셔주시고 좋음곡많이 남겨주세요 감사합니다♡♡♡

Current odds are that she’s from another planet, with an outside chance she’s actually an angel come down from Heaven. 😇 We have never heard anyone sing like her, or be able to hold an audience in the palm of her hand until she lets them go. Her voice is, as one person described it, like liquid gold. Perfection in clarity and pitch, and she doesn’t fade in the upper octaves, which is startling when you hear her hit those 5th and 6th octave notes with such _POWER_ it actually gives everyone goose bumps-and makes us bald guys’ hair stand on end! As she says, her voice “is from God.” She does all the musical arrangements herself (with the input of her musical assistants), teaches vocal technique at a South Korean university and speaks four languages. She is a cancer survivor from uterine cancer at the age of 20, just after getting married, and states very plainly that God saved her life due to the prayers of her church. But this left her without the ability to have children so she decided to dedicate her life to being a Contemporary Christian Gospel singer and has refused recording contracts from the biggest corporations in the world. She only wants to sing for charities, churches and while doing missionary work, to strengthen those suffering through difficult times. David Foster, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton and others have all travelled to Asia to work with her. She contracted hepatitis B from a blood transfusion during her cancer surgery and it clings to her to this day. They are all top notch from what I can see and hear, and it is important to note that as these are _essential_ parts of any great music production. I was there and at that performance she was sick( pneumonia ) even more her doctor told her never to sing.. after signing this song she was exhausted in her waiting room..😭 tears were rolling down on my face when hearding it from the stage staff.. What did you mean during your reaction when you said "there were pitch issues throughout the song"? Were you referring to Sohyang's dramatic belting style on ascending lines of hitting a semitone below each high note and then sliding up to it , known as portamento? It happens each time she belts "You...raise...me...up..." Each note starts below pitch and creates a short dissonance which is resolved when she slides up to the right pitch. The listener is in suspense on each note wondering if she will lock into the pitch and if she waits too long it can become somewhat annoying. I thought she was fine on this version but there are a couple songs where she kind of overdoes it.

Well, one more gush. In an interview with a Turkish music producer So Hyang's assistants revealed (a bit to her chagrin, as she is a self-effacing person) that she can hit Eb7 and D7 in practise. However, she never goes above the 6th octave in performances. Since she starts at D3 that is more than a 4 octave range ... so how about them apples???! Oh, I just remembered, she is also a published novelist and theological treatist, and a very good stage actress, which she proved by playing Julie Andrews’ part in the South Korean production of “The Sound of Music.” Moreover, she sang the “Moana” part in the Korean version of the Disney film, does the musical vocals for many South Korean television dramas, and is a talented artist and cartoonist.
She can also play the piano and guitar. Is there anything this genius level woman can’t do?
Though she is less than 5' 4" and only 100 pounds, So Hyang simply transcends the thresholds of music and takes you there with her. She becomes the song when she sings it. An experience like no other. I don’t know what else to say. I’ve spent _entire days_ listening to her, and shed more than a few tears of joy along the way.
I really must also compliment the choir, orchestra and audio/video production people So Hyang works with. They are all top notch from what I can see and hear, and it is important to note that as these are _essential_ parts of any great music production. The Korean people are easily as talented as anyone else.
As you can see, I am a shameless fan. 😉

I was there and at that performance she was sick( pneumonia ) even more her doctor told her never to sing.. after signing this song she was exhausted in her waiting room..😭 tears were rolling down on my face when hearding it from the stage staff.. What did you mean during your reaction when you said "there were pitch issues throughout the song"? Were you referring to Sohyang's dramatic belting style on ascending lines of hitting a semitone below each high note and then sliding up to it , known as portamento? It happens each time she belts "You...raise...me...up..." Each note starts below pitch and creates a short dissonance which is resolved when she slides up to the right pitch. The listener is in suspense on each note wondering if she will lock into the pitch and if she waits too long it can become somewhat annoying. I thought she was fine on this version but there are a couple songs where she kind of overdoes it.
