Great tutorial but a few work arounds for some simple graphic things. a great tip: Load your texture into Marvelous or CLO as a fabric and export your UV maps with your Object. Plug in your textures in Blender and bake in and you'll have all your maps ready to import. You will need to resize but can do that in PS. Also, you can create a normal map in Photopea and Photoshop in one click lol. Under Filter > 3D > Normal map. Thank you for this tutorial finally connected the dots for me in Blender 3.6 all the older blender tutorials were tedious.
I tried making a top using this and when i import the mesh into sims4 studio the arms are almost invisible. The arms looked dark in Blender after I did the ctrl + j thing to combine the two (you show it at 25:30) idk what I did! please help I really want to make cc but it's so hard and this was the only tutorial that was useful D:
hey! I've just started making cc and at 28:47 you start to move the pants away but then you dont because you have "no ea mesh to cover", and what if you did have ea mesh to cover? I'm making a skirt and i still have legs that need to go on the uv map so I'm a bit confused what to do with them
if anyone has the same trouble as me while trying to merge meshes of the reference.. make sure the last mesh selected (it will have a brighter orange outline than the others) is the one of the actual garment and not the cuts (highlighted at the legs). i started over 3 times thinking i did something wrong but it was nothing i had done, just a silly rule
Nope not bad at all! If thats how it works for you then do it that way. Thats why I like to start my videos by saying my way isnt the only way haha. Even myself, ive learned to do it many different ways as you can see by my multitude of tutorials that do the same thing haha. You know what though, now that you mention it, Im going to look more into it and see if that method will help me :)
Hello! When I append the reference mesh of the top it looks weird in blender. The reference mesh cuts through the marvelous designer mesh. How can I fix that?
Ill make a tutorial for full body but the only real difference is your nude body can be the lingerie body. So instead of searching nude, search lingerie and any of them work. Just remember to replace or delete the maps because it will have texture maps unlike the nude body.
need something like this for a dress cus when i get to the test texture phase with the render and bake.... the texture of the garment is wonky (badly shaded) and the rest of the sim is completely black... also are you not supposed to use anything that would make "pattern innershape" appear in blender cus ive noticed none of the tutorials have them... i think mine are there for either using the double sided texture (thick texture fabric) in clo3d or its because im using things like the pleats tool which creates a bunch of internal lines

Thanks to your video I'm understanding better how making clothes work. I was wondering do you know how can we bake silk on top of the UV map ?

Dang. I REALLY wanna try doing this, but I can't afford almost $40 a month for Marvelous Designer :(
Just pirate it 🙂↕️
There’s a 2 week free trial
@@JasminesTV06 ooh, really? As soon as I'm caught up on a couple bills, I'll do it!
@@xzerick550 im always afraid I'd go to jail 😅

If you would like, we could connect on discord so you can send me your blend files
@@FatalRoseCreations yes sure, my discord it's @dridtheart
I thought shrinking the uvs was bad. I usually cut them up? Is that considered bad because the sims 4 forums usually recommend cutting

@@FatalRoseCreations yeah the reasoning for cutting uv is to keep the it high quality instead of shrinking

Im not super sure what you mean, lets connecct on discord!
how will i do this for a full body? like a dress?? i cant find a nude for full body

when i open the file in blender, my avatar is grey like in MD, and when i import the obj file, the uv map is empty
