Great idea to use the connector to connect the wires and test whether it is the switch broken or the motor. I am off to try and find a switch - stupidly hard to find these days - and give this a go myself. Thanks for the idea. It will be much cheaper than buying the switch or capacitor only to discover that the motor is broken.
That's unlucky. Mine is ancient! The handle joints have gone and I've only got one handle trigger now but it's struggling on and I'm steadfastly refusing to buy a new one till it actually goes boom and definitely can't be fixed 😂

Which side does the blue and neutral wire go. On another video they were the other way round? ( blue on the left and brown on the right)
