    Tremendous Belks store in Johnson City, Tn...takes up 2 seperate sections in the Mall .

    Haven't been into Belk in years. Their employees are so snooty you'd think you were in Neiman Marcus. There are friendlier places to spend my money.

      Still popular in North Carolina, but Belk doesn't have the prestige it once had.

    290+ locations in 16 states, I’ve been in the Kerrville Texas one, I guess their niche is the mid-large cities but not the metropolises. Sort of like a Penney’s.

    An interesting story...BUT...did Belk's desegregate their stores' employees and clientele? And when? You must admit, this was a pretty all-white enterprise in 1958!
