For anyone wondering you can slide a microfiber towel or even a old shirt into the window crank and it should hook the pin and pop it right out. Just make sure it's between the washer

Thanks for the video... I was able to buy that tool from Advance Auto Parts for 6 dollars... It took me a few minutes because I was trying to go behind the black fitting of the door handle, rather then between the handle and that black fitting. Great Advice on using the existing speaker mounting frame too..I would have never thought of that..

So I have an 08’ Chevy Cobalt.
My front speakers typically don’t come on anymore but every once in a while they’ll start to play things with full quality and clarity. When they do turn on, it sounds great. But they typically don’t.
Could this just be a faulty wire, a loose wire/connector, or something else? The speakers definitely aren’t blown out because they work, they just won’t come on most of the time.

I have the same problem as well with my 08 cobalt

@@movoni4069 it’s a wiring/leak issue common with cobalts, Happened to my 09, pretty sure it’s from water getting into the paper cones and ruining them, installing aftermarket will fix it because newer speakers don’t have paper cones therefore water damage isn’t really possible

If you are putting some Butyl Rubber/Foil deadening Mat, should you pull the clear plastic off first?

I bought rockford fosgate speakers to replace the old ones. The music is playing but it's making a dinging noise.
So I unhooked it don't know what's wrong. Checked the speakers nothing wrong. You guys have anything for me?

you could also try renting the specific tool from auto zone. they just take your CC number as collateral.

Why waste the OEM speaker? I would’ve taken it if you didn’t like them. And those aftermarket speakers are shitty.
