Little request, I took two months off with a new baby girl but I jumped back in and my graphics looks a bit off even with the render distance being off. Can you do a a video on suggested video settings?
Gotta love the blaster love, but seriously, no epics? Ok, so you used to have to get to 50 first, but a PB built heavy on forms, or even all human form is a shiny glowing swiss army knife in this game. That being said, My first ever character was a blaster, and that same one was my first 50, back on Protector and now on Homecoming's Excelsior server. So, yea. pew pew is fun.
#5 Blaster - Great all around damage and some nice effects, but not quite as fun as the higher ranked ATs. #4 Corruptor - Good all around character, tends to be the only AT I get random tells for groups on. #3 Dominator - I like controlling a spawn and then defeating them. #2 Scrapper - TW/Bio specifically, great damage and survivability. #1 Stalker - Assassin's Strike makes a lot of melee sets more fun.
1) Corrupter: so versitile can adapt well as situations change, 2) Dominator: just a guilty pleasure of mine. Lock down your foes, then pummel em. 3) Peacebringer: an epic gatecrasher that just gets stronger wth the correct team. 4) Controller: great for crowd control, and keeping the team alive and thriving. 5) Brute: The longer they are in a fight, the stronger they get.
Controller and brute are my top 2. Blaster is up there too, so my favorite outta those 3 depends on my mood... mastermind and dominator would be next. I love them all. I’m just so happy to have my game back. ❤️❤️.
#1 Blasteer (so much fun to solo, sniping enemies ) when on a team you let the tanks and brutes aggro and you jump in with the most devistating AOE in your arsenal. 2. Mastermind 3. Stalker 4. Controller 5. Warshade.
Support characters are my niche, nothing more satisfying to me than increasing your team's survivability with a combination of buffs and debuffs. 1. Defender- A good build fills both defensive and offensive support roles at the same time. Adding one to a team immediately increases survivability. 2. Controller- Crowd control and buff/debuff is essential to mob management. 3. Corruptor- Can be one of the most versatile AT's on a team. Can turn up the damage or keep team's alive or do both. 4. Scrapper- The easy button ...survivability and mega damage, great defense by better offense. 5. Tanker- Taking the aggro away from the other team members allows them to unleash their arsenal on the mobs with less chance of dying.
Scrapper is not an easy button. Building combos and when to use a finisher takes time management and a general degree of sense. The debuffs in the game are however very good and flashy, I can't ignore that
@@DemonPrinceofHell Yes they are, you mash buttons and bad guys fall down. The game tells you when the combo's have generated energy for a finisher and you can use the power even if you don't have the energy(it just doesn't have the extra umph). They have a higher survivability over support and most AT's(except tanks and brutes usually), with a higher damage output for quicker enemy elimination.
#1 Controller - nothing like locking down the enemy and sowing chaos. #2 Scrapper - Leroy Jenkins! Nuff said. #3 Blaster - Glass cannons can be fun. #4 Brute - Durability of a tank + damage of a scrapper, as close to Juggernaut as you can get. #5 Tanker - almost unkillable in most content.
1. Scrapper (love dishing it out and getting in the thick of it.) 2. Brute (same reason and love the secondary effects.) 3. Blaster (Flight adds to their survivability.) 4. Stalker (love me some backstabbing.) 5. Tanker (I love being mobbed and barely being scratched.)
I've given up on trying to come up with a top 5 list. To me it's more about how different power sets interact with each other and the corresponding architype's ability. What works with your concept and playstyle is also a factor. For example, I gave up on tanks for a while because I didn't care for the slow damage output and how long it took me to get through maps. However, I stumbled across a combo of power sets that work really well together, and now my tank is my main. The concept I came up with also ensures that I don't get bored with something that feels more like a mini max than an actual superhero.
Stalker is probably the most fun for me. They can be extremely survivable, and dishing out the big initial hit to weaken or kill the enemy before the fight really begins is really cool. As a whole my top 5 would be: 1) Stalker 2) Scrapper 3) Brute 4) Blaster 5) Tanker Yeah... I’m mostly a melee guy. Even Blasters have a melee element. Could never really get into control/support archetypes tbh but I’d say my favorite of those is probably Dominator... which also has some melee in there iirc (albeit I wouldn’t end up using them much prob) but I did always like building up the domination bar and then wrecking the mobs with attacks after using that.
No particular order: Blaster Tanker Controller Mastermind Corruptor This is Homecoming, and slight balance changes could push Brute over Tanker, which I guess means we have similar tastes.
Im a blaster main and I have to agree. It's high risk high reward and makes it a blast, hehe. I just rerolled my original from 20 years ago, a fire/ ice blaster. Put slows in the secondary and it kills recharge and speed. Just stay out of range and let it fly.
Blaster Dominator Brute Scrapper Peacebringer Blaster just add water dmg, easy play Dominator does most control damage in game. Brute easy most melee high dmg and surviabilty combo in game. Scrapper/Stalker does most melee dmg in game. Peacebringer/warshade most diversified of all and beautiful power effects
Dominator for solo play. Defender / Controller for team play. Blaster will always hold a special place for pure DPS. The reason CoH is so awesome... you can play so many different styles with a variety of other players... and still have a positive experience. #BestGameEver
To me, nothing says "superhero" like being a Tanker, wading through an army of minions trying in vain to stop you as you march straight toward the arch-villain, trading blow for blow while your team mops up the rest. If there is anything better, it is a fully slotted tri-form Peacebringer or Warshade: When things are good, you hang back and just melt things from a distance. But if things go south, you turn into the Hulk and teleport into Ground Zero, holding the fort while your team gets its rags back together, then you teleport away and go back to your old role. That is a real adrenaline kick. (But it takes a long time getting all those enhancements, ack.)
5- Dominator, Nothing like control with the ability to dish out damage 4 - Scrapper, I like having all the damage NOW and some armor to back it up. 3 - Defender, as much as your agruememt for Coruptor. I prefer having all the power to buffs and debuffs. 2 - Mastermind, well you Said all that needed to be said I just love alot, got 4 lvl 50 MM's in my garage. 1 - Tanker, the shear ability to take abuse and fight a war of attrition on enemies hp is awesome, I prefer survivability of their armor and not to shabby DPS when built right.
My first hero, back when Cryptic Studios hosted CoH, was a fire blaster and I loved it. Even more so when flying in the air, couldn't be touched by most things and just killing everything underneath me >:D
Definitely love your top 5 and the reasons behind them. But I think some of the most fun I've ever had in this game has been playing as a Kinetic Melee Scrapper. The look of the moves is cool, they cool down super quick, and getting those crits feels so good! Especially with that "POW!" sound the powerset delivers. So fun!
In no particular order... #1) Blasters - current fav: Dual Pistols/Martial Combat. Hail of Bullets+Burnout+Hail of Bullets=Bulletnado. #2) Brutes - current fav: Super Strength/Willpower. Fury+Rage+Hurl=Bouldersnipe. Fury makes damage absurd. #3) Controller - current fav: Illusion Control/Poison. Heal, rez, hold, debuff, blast, spawn unkillable mobs, nuff said. #4) Defender - current fav: Water Blast, Storm Summoning. Ridiculous aoe potential...beyond ridiculous. #5) Sentinel - current fav: Energy Blast/Invulnerabilty. Lean heavy into power/epic pools and scrap while blasting!
More of a concept player, so whatever fits my concept is fun. I have to say, nothing is more satisfying (for me) than being the last man still fighting and winning when the whole team is down! It always happens for me on the "warshade ambush" at the end of the first mission in the ITF TF. I'm surprised a Night Widow/Fortunata didn't make the list.
I definitely prefer range over melee 1 - Blaster - All about the DPS! 2 - Controller - Many different combinations and a unique AT 3 - Warshade - I built as a tri-form and I love the versatility 4 - Corrupter - As you said, the perfect combination of damage and support 5 - Defender - Great support and some damage While blaster is my favoriate AT, kinetics is my favorite powerset!
I notice the 4 special classes aren’t included here - Peacebringer, Warshade, Fortunata, Soldier. MM is the favorite but Soldier and Stalker are near the top, followed by Tanker and then probably Peacebringer. Brutes do more damage than tanks but Tanks can eat it all up and still do good damage. Maybe I’m a little biased on the Soldier but I like the idea behind the Crab Spider path. Gives you a bit of everything, from good armor to good melee and ranged and utility. And minions are winions.
5) All of them 4) The one you have made an character with 3) The one that is most helpful to a team (if you are on a team) 2) The ones that your friend like game with the most ... and, of course ... 1) The one you are current playing
Dominator is the more fun 'controller' type AT IMO. Damage for Controllers is *low* in the first half of the game, to low for myself personally. Its mind numbingly slow to play. You can get the same buffs/debuffs from MMs, Corruptors and Defenders.
#1 Mastermind Always can tell who were the bad (no pet awareness/management), average (didn't use secondary much/boring gameplay) and good MMs were. Base on other comments clearly most didn't know how to utilize both the primary and secondary. You were a chaotic version of a corr in teams.
Controllers have always been my favorite -- it is the only archetype without a powerset dedicated to damage (Masterminds have pets and damage together). Controllers also have the most varied playstyles. A Fire/Kin or Fire/Rad is clearly a melee controller, while Earth/Storm or an Ill/Rad is best played at range. Some have good damage (Fire/Kin, Plant/Rad)) while others have pitiful damage (Ice/Emp, Elec/Therm). Some are fantastic solo (Grav/Storm), while others are nearly useless without a team ( Ice/Poison). Some have powersets that synergize wonderfully (Fire/Rad) while others have powersets that have no synergy (Mind/FF) There are even controllers who can solo GMs better than other ATs -- a well-built Illusion/Radiation Controller with perma-Phantom Army has been known as the solo GM Killer.
Good job PG. I would have no problem with the choices. If you choice. blaster the high probability have a face plant he is to be considered. but with a wakey and Blues you're all good
I loved my dual blades willpower brute the most. I don't have the patience to sit back and send my pets in, not buff other ppl haha. My brother loves your 2 and 3 choices tho. We are going to download one of the new servers shortly. It's been 8 years since I played! Ps. I only have an old win 7 laptop at the moment. Will this run on win 7?
Negatory my Goodman, Corrs are #1! Blasters are an offensive juggernaut to be sure, however with a Corr you're drastically outside the one dimensional aspect and have a plethora of options for both your teams, personal survivability, and dps. While yes you can still softcap a blaster to S/L/M with 60% res to S/L, why not got with a Corr that is softcaped to Positionals, retain your 60%+ S/L Res, while still being able to throw fire balls and toss some killer buffs on the teams! That is of course my personal opinion rant, *cough* fireblastorgohome
I agree with your list .... but .... I would reverse their positions. Masterminds are by far the most fun toon set in the game with the others falling behind that. Blasters are fun .... when you have others tanking for you ... not so much when you solo ... and especially at low levels. MMs on the other had, can be blasters with their team to back them up. The only thing I wish for is a more varied type of MM ... like an Avengers team leader type of MM ....
My beam rifle/super reflexes sentinel (master brawler) is the most fun to play. Nothing can hit him and he melts away the enemies health with ease. Disintegrate them then aoe them to spread the dots.
It a while since i last play my most favorite archetype is the scrapper bec you really make it any way fire shield deflect it is a combo i like the master mind i made my first one a mafia leader thugs traps also a fun combo both natural origin and stalker was fun but not the most but it good blasters are just nothing but fun and brute bec they're burte do i really need to say anything about them also not these not in any specific order what so ever
I'm very new to the game. I love my tanker and my brute. This vid gave me hope to not give up on my blaster, who was my first character but I abandoned at level 14.
Hate to admit this, but Blaster is my absolute least favorite. They just faceplant FAR too often and i find Controllers, Stalkers and Defenders the most fun. You havnt lived until you play a Storm Defender in pvp pure chaos and fun lol.
My top 5 (1) Controller (2) Controller (3) Controller (4) Controller (5) Controller Yeah, I have control issues. Everytime I try a different archetype I always end up back on my trollers. The funny thing is my most loved Primary in Controllers is Illusion - which has the least amount of control. Go figure.
Well, I'm not a fan of blasters. I have and always will be mostly about support. Selfish damage is never my jam. So, mine are: 5. Mastermind 4. Corruptor 3. Tank 2. Defender 1. Controller
A shame that Warshades and Crab Soldiers didn't make the list. Warshades are masters of versitility, combining a flying blaster form with a meele tanker form and the ability to teleport around the battlefield, while Crab soldiers are as close as you can get to a mastermind without actually being one.
I guess I’m going to have to agree with you on the number one. Back on live, I never leveled a blaster to 50. But now, three of my current four 50s are blasters. I keep finding myself wanting to pew pew. Even though I love melee. Lol what? No stalker love?? Hahaha
Blaster?? What? You gave Blaster #1? OMG Disagree. Blasters are good when you are at 50 and you spent Inf to build up. My order: 5) Blaster: While fun at 50, you have to make it TO 50. Even then you have to spend loads of inf to make up the armor you are missing. 4) Corruptor: Like the Blaster but support over melee options make you more than a one trick pony. Easily can reach the same defense with the same amount of inf. 3) Mastermind: Options galore. Want ranged? Your pets can do so without you breaking a sweat. Support? That's your secondary. Tanking? Enter the tanker mind. Nothing says versatile than a MM. 2) Brute: Medium damage than can get high not far into the fight. Run in and smash away with armor than works at any level. 1) Scrapper: Ever hear of scrapperlock? Player experience it on a daily basis in teams or solo. Damage, armor, and lots of "Just try to kill me" attitude. They are what Brutes aspire to do out of the gate and you don't have to spend loads of inf to get there early on. .....and Controllers? Pfffft..... No ability to solo until like level 18 if you're lucky kills the fun.
I've always played a Mastermind, before they came out, I played a blaster, but when I played, there were almost no builds, I just talked with other blasters and copied what they chose. So, yes, I'm pro-Mastermind
i hate MM, i wanna play, dont see play... i prefer Blaster, Brute, Corruptors... Dominators are betters controls than controllers kkkkk 1- Blaster 2- Corruptor 3- Brute 4- Dominator 5- Stalker
I love Defender and Controller, but I hate playing with randoms. I only recently discovered Masterminds had a support secondary, and I've been having a blast soloing as one when my friends were offline. It eventually gets to the point where you can buff your minions to be nearly as effective as off-dps teammates, which when combined with their numbers, allows you to do x2/x4 content at surprisingly early levels. I made a robot/kin easy mode Mastermind, just to test the waters, and Speed Boost + Fulcrum Shift is just silly. And enemies hardly ever get to touch my robots in melee when I'm walling them off with repel.
Blaster is my least favorite. no defense. no self heal. You can deal damage when you're KO'd For me I'd have to go: 5: Corruptor - I have to admit, I never gave these much of a chance because I assumed they were weak in terms of damage like defenders and never saw the point of Defenders because having crowd control on top of a little damage is better than just a little damage. But knowing they're actually a lot stronger, i plan on making a bunch of these. 4: Tanker - When i feel like tanking, I might dabble in this a little, but not much 3: Mastermind - Pets are fun and great. This would be number 1 if you could edit the costumes of your pets 2: Scrapper - I like making fighter type characters but don't want the responsibility or exception of being a tank that comes with Brutes and Tanks 1: Controller - I love being a healer/support and making enemies unable to move or do anything is a bonus
Let's hear YOUR top 5!
PB, PB, PB, PB, Kin.
Yes, Kinetics is an archetype!
Little request, I took two months off with a new baby girl but I jumped back in and my graphics looks a bit off even with the render distance being off. Can you do a a video on suggested video settings?
My abosulte favorites have been:
1) Tanker
2) Mastermind
3) Blaster
4) Brute
5) Controller
Gotta love the blaster love, but seriously, no epics? Ok, so you used to have to get to 50 first, but a PB built heavy on forms, or even all human form is a shiny glowing swiss army knife in this game.
That being said, My first ever character was a blaster, and that same one was my first 50, back on Protector and now on Homecoming's Excelsior server. So, yea. pew pew is fun.
Warshade is my top number 1.
Stalker - the number one reason I came back to COH the best Assassin architype in any MMO
#1 is Brute by a mile! While everyone else is buffing and planning.. I've already got half the mobs down!
#1 Blasteer (so much fun to solo, sniping enemies ) when on a team you let the tanks and brutes aggro and you jump in with the most devistating AOE in your arsenal. 2. Mastermind 3. Stalker 4. Controller 5. Warshade.

From a fellow blaster "Space Ghoull", I was kind of worried about your list until you got to number one! Damn real man!!!! Blasters are where it's at.
Stalker is probably the most fun for me. They can be extremely survivable, and dishing out the big initial hit to weaken or kill the enemy before the fight really begins is really cool.

I totally get it. I’m a Tank at heart. It’s my all time fave followed by Scrapper, Brute & Blapper.

Sentinel: Walks up next to the tank and scrapper. Yeah you go get coffee and sit this one out.
Blaster Dominator Brute Scrapper Peacebringer
Blaster just add water dmg, easy play
Dominator does most control damage in game.
Brute easy most melee high dmg and surviabilty combo in game.
Scrapper/Stalker does most melee dmg in game.
Peacebringer/warshade most diversified of all and beautiful power effects
Defenders can be really fun depending what kind you make. a well built defender can even solo farm, and in a team offers insane support.
Dominator for solo play.
Defender / Controller for team play.
Blaster will always hold a special place for pure DPS.

1 - SS/FA brute
2 - MA/Bio scrapper
3 - dominators Dark/Dark or psi or cold
4 - the motherfucking tri-form warshades
5 - Thugs/Dark MM ; maybe now Thugs/Time
6 - honorable mentions to other scraps/brutes =]
5- Dominator, Nothing like control with the ability to dish out damage
4 - Scrapper, I like having all the damage NOW and some armor to back it up.

#4) Defender - current fav: Water Blast, Storm Summoning. Ridiculous aoe potential...beyond ridiculous.

My list is 1 - Scrapper, 2 - Tanker, 3 - Corrupter, 4 - Defender, 5 - Dominator. We only share 1 AT in our lists!
I don’t enjoy mastermind for that reason of standing around. I mean make a defender and play in teams, you will have 7 “pets” to buff. 😂
☺️☺️ I feel the same never thought of it that way.
VEAT/HEATs are usually very limited in choice, which makes them less fun to play for some. Some are getting a kick off it, though
This kinda makes me want to start back on my L25 Fire / Time corruptor. Great video, PG! Thanks for all your hard work!
I definitely prefer range over melee
1 - Blaster - All about the DPS!
2 - Controller - Many different combinations and a unique AT
3 - Warshade - I built as a tri-form and I love the versatility
4 - Corrupter - As you said, the perfect combination of damage and support
5 - Defender - Great support and some damage
While blaster is my favoriate AT, kinetics is my favorite powerset!
Peace bringer is a ton of fun. Your a blaster, your a tank, your an arial weapons platform. Lolol
You're* Stay in school, kid.
I loved my Peacebringer... but the cooldowns on the non-squid forms were so long you had to keep switching forms just to stay active.
I notice the 4 special classes aren’t included here - Peacebringer, Warshade, Fortunata, Soldier. 5) All of them
4) The one you have made an character with
3) The one that is most helpful to a team (if you are on a team)
2) The ones that your friend like game with the most
... and, of course ...
1) The one you are current playing
My Favorite was always the Defender. Can't wait to play again
1) Fire/Kin
2) Blaster (blapper?)
3) Controller (stone)
4) MasterMind
5) Scrapper
#1 is Scrapper.
That said, recently got in Peacebringer and it's a lot of fun.
MM is the best one, I just cant get over standing back and stab everything
Blaster love! ❤️ my Dual Pistol/Radiation damage-dealing beast! 😁
for me it's controller, brute, warshade, defender and corruptor. but that's what's so great about CoH. something for everyone so all are happy
I love my spines/rad brute, I used to be the only Rad armor farmer in The Pyromaniacs SG. 🤣
Dominator is the more fun 'controller' type AT IMO. Damage for Controllers is *low* in the first half of the game, to low for myself personally. Its mind numbingly slow to play.
You can get the same buffs/debuffs from MMs, Corruptors and Defenders.
#1 Mastermind
Always can tell who were the bad (no pet awareness/management), average (didn't use secondary much/boring gameplay) and good MMs were. Base on other comments clearly most didn't know how to utilize both the primary and secondary. You were a chaotic version of a corr in teams.

There are even controllers who can solo GMs better than other ATs -- a well-built Illusion/Radiation Controller with perma-Phantom Army has been known as the solo GM Killer.
I play Ice/Dark and man, that's a fun one. Complete control over anyone. Sure I can't do damage, but idc. If they can't hurt me, I win.
Nonsense, everyone knows a full team of defenders is where it’s at
I’ve always avoided blasters, but the fasted I’ve ever levels up a toon to 50 was my only blaster.
Dual Pistols to boot.
I'm late to the game here, but what is the blaster you're playing, if you don't mind my asking.
This game is apart of my childhood 💯
It's back you know.
Brutes are definitely the Leroy Jenkins of CoH. Lol
The only one I didn't quite call was corruptor, but I can't argue with this list.
My beam rifle/super reflexes sentinel (master brawler) is the most fun to play. Nothing can hit him and he melts away the enemies health with ease. Disintegrate them then aoe them to spread the dots.
I’m not sure if Sentinal was in the game when you made the list, but it’s a ton of fun.
I had an Incarnate NRG/NRG blanket. He was my machine gunner.
Hate to admit this, but Blaster is my absolute least favorite. They just faceplant FAR too often and i find Controllers, Stalkers and Defenders the most fun. You havnt lived until you play a Storm Defender in pvp pure chaos and fun lol.
My top 5
(1) Controller
(2) Controller
(3) Controller
(4) Controller
(5) Controller
Yeah, I have control issues. Everytime I try a different archetype I always end up back on my trollers. The funny thing is my most loved Primary in Controllers is Illusion - which has the least amount of control. Go figure.
I love blaster but am always self conscious of knock back.
get some kb ->kd procs
Well, I'm not a fan of blasters. I have and always will be mostly about support. Selfish damage is never my jam. So, mine are:
5. Mastermind
4. Corruptor
3. Tank
2. Defender
1. Controller
A shame that Warshades and Crab Soldiers didn't make the list. Warshades are masters of versitility, combining a flying blaster form with a meele tanker form and the ability to teleport around the battlefield, while Crab soldiers are as close as you can get to a mastermind without actually being one.
I was in a group with 8 MM and it was hilarious!
My favorite corruptor is dual pistols and dark miasma
I love that shirt. I need to get myself one soon!
#1 Mastermind
#2 Arachnos Widow
#3 Peacebringer/Warshade
#4 Dominator
#5 Brute
I guess I’m going to have to agree with you on the number one. Back on live, I never leveled a blaster to 50. But now, three of my current four 50s are blasters. I keep finding myself wanting to pew pew. Even though I love melee. Lol what? No stalker love?? Hahaha
5. Peacebringer 4. Blaster 3.Tanker 2.Blaster 1. Brute
Blaster x2
1. brute
2. stalker
3. blaster
4. Sentinel
5. Dominator
If you want to be Godlike, pick anything.
If you want to be GOD? Pick a TANK!
Cool vid.. 5. Defender 4. Brute 3. Blaster 2. Tanker 1. Scrapper
What power sets on the scrapper?
@@ThePositiveGamer martial arts/super reflexes: Bloodpoet lvl 33, street justice/ invulnerability: Urban J lvl 21, savage melee/ Regeneration: Irish Goodbye lvl 18 villian
The blaster and corruptor are boring to me personally. Controller and Brute are my faves.
I really like your presentation.
Look for Olympia Steel, energy blaster
Top= melee
then everything else
5. Peace bringer 4. stalker 3. blaster 2. scrapper 1. Tanker
I was waiting for it!
Nice shirts
Dominator is my #1
GANG WAR!
Blaster?? What? You gave Blaster #1? OMG Disagree. Blasters are good when you are at 50 and you spent Inf to build up. My order:
5) Blaster: While fun at 50, you have to make it TO 50.
Brute 4 Life
I've always played a Mastermind, before they came out, I played a blaster, but when I played, there were almost no builds, I just talked with other blasters and copied what they chose.
So, yes, I'm pro-Mastermind
Corruptor is my main go to
Side note if you put kinetics on a corruptor it boosts your blast damage tremendously and the teams damage too
You're the best PG!!! I need to get me a shirt!
What are these "clothes" that you speak of?!? Is this the same thing the police keep telling me I need when they arrest me?!? Hmmmm...
Clothes are so.... restricting. Right??
you need to hop on cake evolution brother, we have like 14 new architypes :D
i hate MM, i wanna play, dont see play... i prefer Blaster, Brute, Corruptors...
Dominators are betters controls than controllers kkkkk
1- Blaster
2- Corruptor
3- Brute
4- Dominator
5- Stalker
You have very nice teeth
I love Defender and Controller, but I hate playing with randoms. I only recently discovered Masterminds had a support secondary, and I've been having a blast soloing as one when my friends were offline. It eventually gets to the point where you can buff your minions to be nearly as effective as off-dps teammates, which when combined with their numbers, allows you to do x2/x4 content at surprisingly early levels. I made a robot/kin easy mode Mastermind, just to test the waters, and Speed Boost + Fulcrum Shift is just silly. And enemies hardly ever get to touch my robots in melee when I'm walling them off with repel.
but CoH is gone... why keep talking about it?
It's back my friend! We've been playing again for the last 9 months.

Blaster is my least favorite. no defense. no self heal. You can deal damage when you're KO'd
For me I'd have to go:
5: Corruptor - I have to admit, I never gave these much of a chance because I assumed they were weak in terms of damage like defenders and never saw the point of Defenders because having crowd control on top of a little damage is better than just a little damage. But knowing they're actually a lot stronger, i plan on making a bunch of these.
4: Tanker - When i feel like tanking, I might dabble in this a little, but not much
3: Mastermind - Pets are fun and great. This would be number 1 if you could edit the costumes of your pets
2: Scrapper - I like making fighter type characters but don't want the responsibility or exception of being a tank that comes with Brutes and Tanks
1: Controller - I love being a healer/support and making enemies unable to move or do anything is a bonus
