Halal carts are not just in NY but also in many countries like Sweden, Norway, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, and many more. The two facts are common that the big chunk of population is Muslim in these countries and the Halal food is cheaper comparatively.

That's very true! Here in NYC, I've seen many halal food carts and restaurants. Before coming here I never thought I'd get to eat halal food that easily. Because of the Halal Guy's Gyro especially lamb over rice, many Pakistanis opened their own gyro spots. I've tasted few of em but I've yet to taste Halal Guy's inshallah

For VOA information; it’s not the Halal food that matters, it’s the flavor and cuisine that matters. New Yorkers are used to pasta, burgers, and other tasteless food, when they get basmati rice and shawarma chicken with aromatic spices. They get fond of it.
To me it matters if the food is palatable or not. Halal I don’t care

@@sufidill many Muslims do not care, you maybe surprised to know that until recently most of the chicken consumed in Saudi Arabia was not halal, now perhaps half of it is locally produced. I have met Saudis here in the U.S. who say that reciting Bismillah before a meal, will make it halal. Then there are Muslims who do care about the meat being halal, but indulge in other forbidden practices, no wonder the Muslims around the world are in a sorrow state of affairs.
That's a bold statement since NYC has some of the best steakhouse, famous Italian, Greek, French, Latin restaurants and cuisine from all over the world!

Very nice. Many Non-Muslims after they taste Halal food, they also prefer to eat Halal meat as well. I asked some of my coworkers here in Michigan, and they say the Halal meat tastes better than non-Halal meat. Subhan Allah. And some Jewish people also prefer to eat Halal, if they can not find Kosher food restaurant, a Jewish coworker told me that. And also for Muslims, Jewish Kosher prepared Meat is similar to Halal and can be consumed, since, Jewish people also sacrifice the animal and in the name of God.
