    I have this dishwasher and love it. I have my rinse aid compartment filled with Finish Jet dry. I use 2 tbs of cascade powder in the wash compartment. 1 tbs cascade powder in the pre wash. Hit normal wash (automatically selects heated dry) and it cleans and dries amazing! These model Kitchenaids have a beefier motor than the Whirlpool models and should last a very long time.

      Thank you so much John for sharing your experience. I’ve been using the cascade liquid and would like to get some of the powder to try. I absolutely love this dishwasher. 🥰 🥰🥰 Have a wonderful day!

      @@CreationsByMiss Yeah, the powder works really good. The best part is that it doesn’t suds up like the pods which are bad for the pump.

    One thing I learned is do not put wide flat plastic container lids in the top even thought they will fit. They will hold water and then dump it on your clean, dry dishes.
    I like the ProWash cycle because it senses what’s needed and just does it.

    I read where someone said that water drips out of the outside vent in the upper left hand corner onto the control panel & onto the floor after a wash cycle. Have you experienced that too?

      Mine plays a sound once it finishes to let me know the wash is complete and the lights above the clean and sanitized stay on until I open the door on the dishwasher to put everything away.

    Hi I know your review is over a year old but I'm looking at this model or the one above and your review has been a big help. Can you answer some questions (1) if you select a setting like ProWash or Normal will it remember it the next time you wash so all you have to do is select 'Start'? (2) When you select a control setting does it make an audio tone... I have a adult blind son? (3) Do you ever wish your model had the Fold-down tines? (4) Do you find yourself using the utensil tray more than the utensil basket?

    • @CreationsByMiss
      @CreationsByMiss  2 года назад +1

      Question #2: yes all the buttons make a sound when you push them. So he would be able to hear the sound.
      Question #3: I have never needed or wished for drop down times.
      Question #4: I LOVE the top utensil tray! Once it’s full I will use the basket, but I definitely use the tray more. That was actually a huge selling point for me. I love that tray.
      I will answer question #1 tomorrow as I’ve never tried that out to see if you can do that. I’m all the time using different settings. I hope all this information helps. I will be in touch tomorrow. Have a great night.

      @@CreationsByMiss Thanks Missy for answering my questions and look forward to your reply on whether it remembers the last setting. I have a 20 year old KitchenAide that has buttons so the setting so never changed unless you changed it but fear touchscreen control may be different. I’ll have to put braille tape on the controls but would be nice if I only had to do for the Start control. You seem to be very happy with your KDTE204KBS do you wish you would have gotten a model up or two in the line with more features? I’m looking at your model and the KDTM604KBS both in black stainless but they’re getting so expensive now and also hard to get. Just don’t know if it’s worth spending another $200 on the 604.

    • @CreationsByMiss
      @CreationsByMiss  2 года назад +2

      It won’t remember the last setting, but when you hit the start button the Pro-wash and heat dry settings both light up. If you hit the start button a second time, the pro wash cycle starts. So if you want him to be able to access the different settings, definitely mark those for him. Maybe mark them somewhere right below the buttons, because the buttons are very sensitive to touch. I hope that makes sense.
      If any of the higher models have a top silverware rack, I would say go for it and do a higher model if you love the silverware rack. Only if it’s within your budget. This model works great and I’m truly happy with it. I’m sure those upper models would be fabulous to own as well! Hope this helps. Have a great day!

      It dries so much better on other settings. Certain settings only let you use certain features. But the settings that will allow you to use the heat dry work very well. 😊

    Is your middle rack a little bit stiff when initially pulling it out, and when pushing it in all the way? Just received mine and it was a bit stiff.

    • @CreationsByMiss
      @CreationsByMiss  3 года назад +1

      My middle rack glides really smooth, but I also keep my rack pulled up with the buttons on the rack. However I just did lower the rack back down to test it and I found the rack seemed very stiff to me. Try raising up your rack and see if that helps with the way the rack glides. Hope this helps! 😊

    • @stephen1922
      @stephen1922 3 года назад

      @@CreationsByMiss Thanks for the tip, I moved the rack up and it’s smoother! I had a couple other questions. Do you notice your door is stiff too when opening it? My previous dishwasher’s door fell open by itself basically, but this model I have to bend down to open the door all the way. I also hear some faint clicking sounds when opening the door. I’m wondering if it’s from all that padding insulation getting caught in the springs on the sides. It also takes pretty long draining water, I timed it at 1 minute-it was trying to drain even when there’s no water left. It was longer than before so I was a bit concerned. Otherwise, the noise level is superb, it runs virtually quiet.

    • @CreationsByMiss
      @CreationsByMiss  3 года назад

      @@stephen1922 Yay I’m so glad that it worked for you! I do find that the door on the front is extremely stiff and I have to bend over to open the door all the way. And my old dish washer door fell open easily. However with that being said, the dishwasher feels very well made and not cheep made like my last one. I haven’t noticed the draining cycle but this dishwasher washes dishes a lot quicker than my last dishwasher. I’m really happy with this dishwasher and I’m so glad I bought it. I absolutely love the top silverware rack. I love not having to bend over to put silverware in that little basket! 😂 I know the basket is removable, but I just love that top rack. ❤️

      @@CreationsByMiss Good to know it's not just mine! It does really feel heavy duty and all the better that it's American made. Believe it or not, before I got this I ordered a GE dishwasher that was $150 cheaper than the KitchenAid, and it arrived TWICE defective! The first time it was damaged and the 2nd time the door wouldn't open flat all the way. I decided it was junk and 3rd time ordered American made. I was shocked honestly at the quietness for only $150 more. The GE sounded like a clothes washing machine! Initially I was planning on taking the 3rd rack out, but somehow even with the 3rd rack they made this model so spacious, I didn't have to take it out. On the GE there was no room in the middle rack, everything would hit the 3rd rack. Overall, I agree, so so glad I went with KitchenAid too.

    Is this the #KDFE204KPS? Any loud abnormal pump sound? There are complaints that this model from KA has a loud pump. I'm considering purchasing this unit. Your thoughts?

    • @CreationsByMiss
      @CreationsByMiss  3 года назад +1

      Yes KDFE204KPS is the model number for this unit. My personal opinion: I think this model is super quiet. The only time I truly notice that it’s running is when it’s draining and I can hear it through my sink drain, the same as any of my other dishwashers. I honestly don’t think the pump is loud. I really love this unit. It’s been working wonderfully. The middle rack will feel stiff. If you raise up the rack, it will glide and not feel stiff anymore. I absolutely love the express wash because it washes dishes in an hour if you need them to get finished faster. My old dishwasher took hours and hours to get finished. I use the top rack every time for silverware. I love that I have more space for silverware. I’m completely happy with this unit. If you have any other questions please let me know. 🙂
