Mattanchery is part of Kochi where people from different cultures coexist in harmony. This temple belongs to tha Gowda Saraswat Brahmin(GSB) community who migrated from Goa during the 16th century due to persecution by Portugese. Their mother tongue is Konkani, they have mingled very well with the local community. The Konkani people are basically into business and are peace loving. My childhood was spent in the precints of this temple.
@porothashawarma2339 thats great. In olden days these Konkani people used to converse with us in a corrupted malayalam dialect, we used to call it Konkani malayalam. Over the years, the new generation speaks very good malayalam.
It is heartening to see that you do a lot of home work on learning and sharing various practices and customs followed in Hindu temples of Kerala. Hats off to you for your interest.
Nicely explained. Your flow of talking is very captivating. May God bless you and your family and your lovely daughter especially. She is so calm and sitting so quietly on your arms all through while you were narrating.

Mam, it's not about removing the right side of the shirt only. Actually, men shouldn't wear any top. For convenience they hang their shirt on tge left shoulder. Wishes to you and your family.
@mithunrg9391 that's not the reason. From very old times it's just a tradition. Stitched clothes are not prescribed. That's why dhoti alone is allowed.
@@mithunrg9391 No, it is said that God blesses on the face of women, therefore they need not cover their face. God blesses on the chest of men, that is why they have to expose chest. Women's beauty increases after darshan, men's valour increases after darshan.
