Jimi was only 25 years old when he recorded this song. Originally by Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan said that it his now. This version is iconic.

Jimi arrived in the UK in October 1966, brought over by Chas Chandler of The Animal who had seen him in New York playing Hey Joe which Chandler already thought would be a hit record. He recorded that as his first single and it was featured on the top TV music show in the UK Top of The Pops in December 1966. He played a lot of gigs with the Experience in 1966/67 as Chandler didnt have much money to support him, finally releasing his first album in May 1967. In September 1967 the British musicians weekly paper Melody Maker readers poll voted him "greatest musician in the world today". So in just 11 months he went from Jimi Who? to Jimi f**King Hendrix. The Beatles were fans of Hendrix and Paul McCartney insisted that he should play the Monterey Pop Festival in June 1967, where he burnt his guitar as seen in the footage, and was introduced to American music fans thanks to 2 British Invasion musicians...

Jimi played left-handed, pretty much upside-down and backwards and self taught.
Jimi did some hard drugs, that eventually took his Life way too soon. You say he looked relaxed, well, drugs will do that.
A few suggestions if I may: Castles Made of Sand.....Little Wing.....Bold As Love......and his version of the Star Spangled Banner like you've never heard it.

This is not a music video, it is a compilation and overdubbing. There were no music videos of Jimi, only occasional concert footage and home movies. It’s best to listen without video, just let the music talk.
Please do research on the songs first, otherwise you’ll keep confusing folks with inaccuracies. But keep at it! This was a historic song, one of the most important in all rock and roll.

    • @gooblereacts

@@gooblereacts Glad I could help! So, what follows is just my opinion from watching very many reaction videos. I think certain things are vital to know for every song, like writer, versions, date, and who played, and founding date of the band. Other things should be learned ahead if the consensus is to do so. For example on lyrics, always have them _ready_, and read at least the first line before playback, but then only as needed during the song. Lastly, choosing the best recording of a given song requires outside help: there are wayyy too many poor recordings reacted to. Okay, best of luck and thanks! 😃

@@gooblereacts Yes, and, there were real great singer in the rock, blues, history....Queen, Freddie Mercury, Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant, Ian Gillian from Deep Purple....Monstruous, beautiful, unreal voices....But, i'm a guitarist, Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin are my favourite's, but i love all the musicians, all the singers, David Gilmour, of Pink Floyd, is one of the greatest guitarist, like Eric Clapton, but they have some fantastic voices too, and, i hate when somebody only speaks about 1 person....All those bands were legendary because, there was a chemestry between the guys! Today, you have a frontman, front woman, and you can change the musicians behind....(even more because it's play-back)😢Watch all those bands, playing live....You will realize... Robert Plant, Led Zeppelin, will kill you, as a singer😅🤭And the band is just too good... My hero is Jimi Hendrix, but, of course, he wasn't the greatest singer... But, i'm sure, you're like me, and you can appreciate all the music....✌️👍🌹I wait on your next reaction
