All of Katy’s lectures and material really helped tease out all the extraneous material and focus on the essential core knowledge. I feel so lucky that I had these to study from in PA school and still reference them in my practice today.
Prazasin seems to work really well for PTSD nightmares, the Seroquel helps them to fall asleep, and stay asleep - but the prazosin has been what I have seen to stuff, nightmares, at least in my practice.
As someone who’s prescribed Seroquel, I was shocked that it was also used to help nightmares. I found that it helped me with going/staying sleep, but it actually HEIGHTENED my nightmares. People that I have met that take Seroquel have the same experience- vivid and increased amount of nightmares.
Hi Katie! Question, is BMI for anorexia >18.5 or 17.5? I am finding 17.5 for anorexia and below 18.5 means underweight but different sources say different things. Thank you!!
Hello! I just re-checked this and yes it looks like there are varying sources on that. We know that 18.5 is underweight so that should start the concern for this disorder but the real diagnostic number is 85% of ideal body weight. Since BMI can greatly depend on age, sex, and ethnicity. The 85% of expected body weight seems to be a more uniform number. Check out this article that makes some useful points on this. truecluster.com/JO/p_bmi99.htm
I was someone that had Katy as a personal tutor during didactic year at the medical university of South Carolina PA program and I can say that without a doubt her material made every subject accessible in a manner I didn’t think was possible. I didn’t study anything but her material during didactics and for PANCE prep and completed everything with flying colors. She is an amazing teacher and the way she is able to word things makes them much easier to understand and lock into memory. 10/10 would recommend
It is totally worth it. She completely helped me through PA school and I felt all the materials were the exact things that we were tested on. Plus, I felt like I actually remembered a lot of it once I started practicing. I highly recommend 😊
I recommend purchasing the additional material! Katy's material kept me organized and on top of the material during didactic year and was the foundation to my PANCE preparation.

Thanks for the input! And thanks for being there to help patients!
Seconding this! In school we were taught that prazosin is used for nightmares, and it’s what I’m seeing used now that I’m in my psych rotation.

I love these. SO worth it. Clear facts pared down to the important stuff. Thank you!

Did anyone purchase the additional material? And did you think it was worth it?

I did and it was SOOOO worth it. She goes over everything and makes it easy to remember. So much less work on you. And it’s fun!
