Hey mate, your project's going very well. The VNT turbo is pushing very hard. You gave me the inspiration to do the same for my engine. I would ask a lot of things in your experience with variable geometry turbo applied to a petrol engine. I really appreciate your videos and your project. Please keep us updated!
Yea the sohc one I built did the same on a ko3 turbo blew up at 20 psi the tear down is on my page but I blew stock stuff fun car I am almost done with mine

hi bro long time no see, do you know anyother vnt youtube project besides yours using gtv's. i still have my gt1852v laying around =)
Hey are you still running the vnt turbo on this car? I'm planning a project in the future with a vnt turbo on a gas engine but I'm concerned about it spooling to quick at low rpm and causing high cylinder pressures and knock down low likewise boost creep at higher rpm due to the vnt's lack of a wastegate and the engine i plan to use putting out a bit more exhaust gas up top then the original engine the turbo came from does, I'm also curious about the lifespan of a vnt on a gas engine as I've heard they don't last as long on a gas engine and that's why they aren't used as much on gas engines. Tbh i don't even know if these are concerns to begin with but i thought I'd ask someone with experience.
@@theking497 not a problem. I'm debating on doing a video at some point in the future on the VNT operation without a electronic controller. I get many questions about that. Truth is with work and a young family, I really have not had as much time in the shop as I used to. In a nutshell though, I adapted the Garrett GT 2256 V for this application. I used a vacuum actuated boost controller from a Volkswagen TDI which I modified
@@southwest82 That would be awesomely helpful I think since there isn't much information on vnt turbos on gas engine. But I do understand life and other more important things gets in the way. Thank you for responding either way :)
