Not much more heart breaking than to see man's best friend afraid of man
Well said! And YES so heart breaking. I have a rescued Pittie and she is the most loving loyal furbaby

I love the “Dogs welcome. Humans tolerated” sign 😂
I have become less tolerant of humans due to seeing how they abuse and mistreat animals. I love dogs - and cats and animals in general.
Mine says "if the dog don't like you then neither will we." And yeah if the dog that loves everyone without question growls at you. You aren't welcome.
How a dog loses her natural instincts to give and receive love shows what a horrific life she must've had prior to these foster angels. But there was one underlying trait that Iris had...she has a naturally gentle soul. Thank you for fostering and rehabilitating this sweetheart.
Thank you so much to foster her. So sad the beginning. She shifted and forgot from her ugly pass to an Amazing Life, she was able to Meet Love ❤️ You guys are Angels on earth. Great family for her.🙏🙏🙏 too. God keep blessing you with your compassion heart ❤️
When my dog came to live with me, he would freeze when I'd pet him. No one ever pet him before. Now he demands it at least once a day. 😄😄❤
Yeap VERY TRUE WENT A DOG 🐕 ACT LIKE THAT BECAUSE THEY NEVER NOBODY LOVE HER BEFORE 👍👍
My cat Mylo needed a friend because I was taking a job after not having to work for years. I heard about Katy cat a formerly feral cat who wasn’t doing well in her home. I figured that as long as she’s friends with MyLo I’m okay with her not wanting human interaction. I’ve had her since 2007 and now she can’t live without me and is always in my lap. At night she must be under the blankets and up against me or on top of the blankets while on me.
Same with my Jackson, now he is talking to me demanding my KFC haha

👌well said. They are such forgiving/loving creatures ❤️
Especially pit mix for some reason they handle traumatic events much better
It's tough to watch and experience dogs that have mentally shut down. Though their rehabilitation in to playful, inquisitive and mischievous dogs is so well worth it.
Who did this to her?! I just wanna talk.
@@SavannahVu1985 My little dog was abused, we found him on the side of the road in France when he was about 18 months old he passed away a couple of months ago at the age of 16 years old. @@blackdragonxtra Probably a bit of both, poor abused darling.
They should have provided her with a shelter at least if they're just leaving a dog outside for a few days
It is so touching how the dog that was already living in the home was so patient with her. Lovely to see the pittie spirit restored.
This is only a 7 minute video. The amount of time and dedication they put into Iris is incredible. So rewarding when they begin to trust and play. Bless them all🙏💗
What worthless effort for a dog unworthy of it.
@Keyth Danielsen I could say the same about you. The only difference about you and Iris is the fact that she’s worthy and deserving of love, unlike you. You are a cold, prejudiced, unfeeling, horrible person who deserves the worst in life. Shame on you for telling a poor, helpless animal that they’re undeserving and unworthy of love and an amazing life. You are the lowest of lows and may every curse, every inconvenience happen to you for eternity. I hope that your life is filled with shame, hopelessness, loss, and loneliness because that’s what you deserve. Iris is a beautiful, worthy pup and you’re a lowlife.

Quite fantastic
Shout out to the foster family who gave Iris time to feel safe. They gave her space, love, safety. They were patient and let Iris come around on her own terms, which is so important with certain rescue dogs. Great foster family, and great forever family. Love Dodo videos, they help me believe that good people still exist. ❤
Poor Iris was obviously traumatised in the past and it was so sad to watch her shy away from human touch, however, once again patience and love triumph. the dog knew exactly what to do, he was not waiting for you to tell him what to do, he analysed the situation and decided being patient is the best way, and look how that turned out, amazing.
Beautifully explained, incredible how smart dogs are❤️
It's so sad when a dog is so scared but so touching to see them happy again. Reminds me of when I watched a family friends dog, he was a big rescue dog that they adopted and I came out a few days before they left to meet him and he was so friendly and followed us around and let me pet him just fine but then I went to stay at the house to watch him and he was like an entirely different dog. Which is understandable but it was so sad to see him so scared and to know that animals never forget what they go through. He hid from me and was almost always under the kitchen table looking out the front window waiting for them to come back. He barked whenever he saw me walking around or if I talked to him. So I just decided to never push him and left a treat on the floor once and a while. At the end of the week though, the last two days, he started to peek at me in the living room from around the couch and on the last day he collapsed into my lap and just slept there. It made me so happy to see him trust me.
Human: We had to carry her everywhere...
Pittie: Hey, this is the life!
She was training them.
"Who is this dog? She started frolicking around like a baby elephant". Watching that playfulness made my heart happy
I am in tears
The progression is so amazing. And that smushed face at the end while she was relaxed really shows how far a little love and patience can bring a dog back to a happy place.
Of course I watch as many of these stories as I can, but I’ve watched this one like 10 times. Every time I need to smile, I watch this video. Tells me their are still good people in this world. Still has instinct to kill
ícҽís թհօҽղíx Pitt bulls are not evil animals “with an instinct to kill”. They have a bad reputation because they were used as fighting dogs, but that isn’t their fault. They can be sweet animals if they are raised right, and treated with love and kindness. They are only dangerous if people abuse them, and they learn to distrust and they become scared, and even then people like the ones in the video can turn around the dog’s attitude. I’m sad that people misjudge animals like these. *This is not hate to you at all I am just trying to show my point of view.*
@@Iceis_Phoenix they do not have an instinct to kill. That is a lie told to scare others from getting these 🐕. They are only trained to fight and those people should be subjected the same fate of many criminals

Sounds like my last foster Vernon.... He didn't understand us at all and finally came out of his shell and then was adopted and got a sister!
Good for Vernon!
Thanks for being a foster ❤️
Great story. Thank you The Dodo.
Seeing Cleo at the end brought back some memories. When I was a teen we had this dog that looked just like her.
We just found her one day wandering nearby in the neighborhood. She was well trained and incredibly smart. We took to just calling her "Dog" as we canvassed the entire neighborhood to try to find her owner. But we never found anyone. So, she joined our family.
The name stuck. Though we changed it to "Dawg" to make it more appropriate.
It wasn't until a little later that we had any clues to her history as we found out that she HATED old men. She would not let them get anywhere near her and would have the most vicious bark towards them. She was super sweet with everyone else.
So, we came to think that she maybe belonged to an old man who beat her. We think one day she just had enough and bolted.
Dawg lived out the rest of her life with us being well loved.
Max like he REALLY brought Iris out of her shell! It warms my heart, to see animals in the care of loving parents.
One of our babies came to us as a stray one day. He was outside in the yard just sitting and when it started to rain, he stayed there and just put his little head down. It was such a heart breaking sight. This story with Iris kind of reminded me of that when they showed her staying outside in the rain. lol. Mine had a wonderful long life. And I pray Iris does as well. I’m sure she will. ☺️

Nothing makes me more angry than seeing an animal who’s spirit has been broken due to abuse.
Same!!
me too. it is so wrong! JUST WHY?!?!?!?!
So true. I intervened once in an animal abuse situation. Going out to dinner the wifey and I saw a guy kicking a dog. My girl prefers I not get involved, but we took a neighbors cat and gave her a choice, we leave the cat but call the cops to investigate OR she let's us rescue it and she won't miss it anyway. Besides, Precious Kitty had been hit by a car in the street, left for dead. My sister saved her. Her hip was broken. It wasnt until Precious Kitty was all healed up. Long solid black, beautiful meow meow. Then the neighbor saw her and coaxed her over and locked her in the house. That night she was on the porch meowing at the door. Next morning BANG BANG it's the weird neighbor lady demanding her cat back. We took pictures of stages of recovery/healing. 5months. After a week it came to a boil and the confrontation. We had Precious Kitty 6years. She would regularly leave a mouse or bird on the porch, her way of contributing

She was neglected and abused, probably always fussed at. Poor thing, dogs are animals with emotions and they need love just like we do.

@Emma fussing “at” someone means scolding or nagging, and fussing “over” someone means taking care of them in a slightly concerned or smothering kind of way. Lol English, I tell ya.
The start was so emotional..then good people treated, and now she is so happy 💛 dog behaviours could be from genes but most important how owners treat them and how they feel. They deserve to be loved 💛💛
Genes determine chemical imbalances not emotional stability

• She was obviously treated really badly by someone that she learned to keep a low profile and try to avoid being seen. She reminds me of how human slaves learned to behave. 😕 Humans are the worst.
• It's nice that nature is still there, deep inside the instincts and genes and can still come out no matter how deeply buried it may get from learned trauma. 👍 It's never too late to recover and enjoy what's left of life. ❤️

Experience makes a hell of difference. For anyone with less experience: do not do what they did. Petting and touching a fearful dog backfire immensely when not done right. .
@Sleepy comments No, they CAN be, just like people. Training dogs is key.
@Sleepy comments You clearly lack a proper understanding of what i said means.
Sleepy comments You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Most large animals can be dangerous but very very few dogs are dangerous. I’d trust a random dog rather than a random person any day of the week and I am a fairly trusting person. I have known hundreds of dogs and met literally thousands. I say hello to any dog that comes within a few metres of me and since I’m in my 50s and spend a lot of time walking, I have met a lot of dogs. I have had three small bites, none of which broke the skin and I’ve only ever been bitten by a dog that I approached once. Dogs are not dangerous.
Dogs are not people, it’s true. Dogs are more trustworthy than people.
As someone who used to be a dog handler, this is very true. Body language is a huge indicator.
@@joshuarosen6242 Truth! The only time I've been bit is when I first started working at a dog daycare. Two dogs got into a fight and I got in between them, catching a deep bite to the leg. The only other time I've been bit was a very shallow, scared bite. Which again, was because of a reaction and me not able to sense it quickly enough. This was out of hundreds of dogs I've dealt with (not quite a thousand though!) Most dogs do not bite if handled properly.
