its not hard to win when the refs are on your side taking away points from the opposing team and letting your team get away with whatever penalty they want to do
After the 3rd or 4th time me and my dad traveled from Rochester to the silverdome to see a game and we always lost, I cried. It was 1977 . I told my dad I need to be for somebody else. He told me no You can't change your family and you can't change your team. Dad passed away this January. I'm glad he said what he said, and I wish he was here to see this season
It’s crazy that we are still this good with so many key players out. Next season when all of our guys are back and healthy, we’re gonna be one SCARY team…
Might not even have to wait for next year. I think the Hutch injury ended up being a blessing in disguise forcing Holmes to make a move. Imagine Hutch back for the Super Bowl with ZaDarius on the other side and some of the interior guys back. Goff and company have already proven several times that if the backup defense can hold on and make a couple stops they'll eventually find their rhythm and put up the points to win. If the Lions are healthy on all sides of the ball I don't think anyone is beating them.
To be fair, only one of those picks was actually on Goff. But point taken: 5 Turnovers would’ve sunk the old Lions (fan since 1979). Hell, 3 Turnovers would’ve sunk the old Lions. GRIT isn’t just a slogan for this squad: it’s how they live and breathe, which is EXACTLY why I have confidence that this team will go all the way. Dan Campbell is, by far, the best HC that I’ve seen on this team in my lifetime.
@@RobertBruce-f9g I agree, I hope the MVP voters overlook that game when considering his accomplishments. We immediately view interceptions as bad plays by the QB but at least two of them were just good defense/lucky bounces for the Packers and one was the hail mary to end the half.
@@ronhillis1892 According to the 2024 stats, Id argue they are about the same, with Mahomes having a slightly higher QBR (64.5 vs 63.1). However, Mahomes has a slightly lower completion percentage than Goff. But I think Goff can read his teams actions way better.

If the Lions were at full strength, they would have held the Packers to under ten points, just like the first game. The Lions were playing with second and third stringers, and they still won the game! Shows yo how much depth the Lions have.
Dan Campbell reminds me of Chuck Daly when he was coaching the Pistons. Just like Daly, Campbell brings out the best in his players. Heard on the local radio station that fans break out the Jared Goff chant at a Detroit Red Wings game! If that ain’t love for another sport, I don’t know what is.
Yes, ik he gets mentioned deserves his flowers but him and Dan Campbell were actually perfect together acquiring the players they really wanted. They said that in the war room on draft days that they were getting guys they love and not just settling for anyone they absolutely didn't want/love, mostly getting their 1st choices. Brads scouts did an amazing job and his IG is hilarious he always cookin.
I think the Lions have two hidden gems in their two line coaches. Teams have skilled players. But both the offensive line and defensive line play smart football and seldom get caught out on a play. With as many defensive linemen that have gone down, building a cohesive unit from those he has left is a monumental task. Who would think you could loose a pass rusher like Hutch and not have a gaping weak spot other teams could exploit?
They'll get Anzalone back either Week 18 or for their Playoff Game opener, and rumors going around Hutch might be back by the NFC Title Game now if they get to that point
@Master_Petes_ No disrespect to Chicago. That typically is what happens when a lesser team steps up in talent. They tend to make mistakes that the better team doesn’t.
His hands smaller than most other QB's at 9 inches while most are 10 or 9.5 inches. So yeah understandable but he can throw a tight spiral, he usually just is chucking it to get it to where it needs to be. He reminds me of Brady. Brady threw tons of wobbly balls as well but they always were deadly accurate
Green Bay only had a chance cause Detroit Lions went on 4th on their side. Usually something Dan Campbell doesn't do. Detroit goes on the 4th on the enemies' side.
