I love the more advanced driver package update method. I think what is needed, is also the ability to perform BIOS updates with Password Management. For example, I have a number of clients that want to perform BIOS updates on the fleet, but they are all password protected.
Has anyone here deployed this in an MSP environment where you may have 50 to 100 client networks, standard O365, on prem AD/azure sync. Painful to manage and push GPO’s since Covid. This video woke me up, I’m still living in 2005!! Where is my Norton ghost…
I have been moving a previously MSP/On-prem driven organisation to a cloud-first position. E5 licensing. Defender stack. All app deployment via Endpoint Manager. Removed WSUS and added update rings with the new staggered update feature. Next up, moving group policies into configuration profiles.
We are Microsoft partners managing smbs. 1-1000 users. For some reason sccm haven’t been a thing for many of them. They either used manual deployment/gpo or mdt/gpo for management. We are skipping cloud attached and going to cloud only instead. With SSO for on prem comanagement is already obsolete for our customers plus we get a single management tool in in tune/endpoint manager. No gpo or ad join. Only azuread join with SSO for legacy systems not updated to work with AzureAD identity
Thank you! Yes, this is a big deal and no longer will require drivers packaged up as apps, or using custom scripts for DIY installs. Plus so many drivers are current on Windows Update now.
Do I need to enable something on my Tenant or Endpoint because this Driver preview feature to create profile is missing ? Or just need to wait till Microsoft will deliver to all tenant globally. If there a way to speed up process to receive those features and have them first day ?
Still have to see how drivers are getting updated for latest OEM drivers. How would anyone get any information whether a particular OEM driver is really needed or is it ok with the older versions, this differentiation, I believe is something, which has to be closely monitored.
Been looking forward to the Intune Driver Update management function for a long time, can't wait to start using it myself

Great updates and helpful controls for IT admins 👌
Glad you liked it. Thank you!

Yep, that's what we're doing too. I'm trying to remove as much on-prem gear as possible.
Remote help looks like a great add, no more TeamViewer
Driver management!! Bless Up! 👏 🥰

Yeah these are wonderful updates.
Can non-Windows devices (such as Mac's and Chromebook) be managed too? Must all devices be joined to the AD domain?
+1 regarding MacBooks
Yes, Microsoft Endpoint Manager works across platforms
Can you target user groups for windows updates or does it have to be device groups?
Anyone know?

This was an early look at driver management. It will be released in a future update
Can you also show a step on how to do the update? thank you
We did a show on updates. ruclips.net/video/QEQ3gz3kzU4/видео.html
Please tell me that sweet looking Config Manager console UI is in the pipeline?
It's truly a classic design.

Nice!!!
