  • Day 3 of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Steep & Deep Camp for early January 2019. [See Day 1 and Day 2 links below.] Great morning to ski more fun terrain on the mountain with John Long, our coach, and Andrew Whiteford, JHMR Athlete. In the afternoon, we go through a backcountry gate with Bill Dyer, JHMR Backcountry Guide, for a guided tour of some untracked, off-piste terrain. It's a fantastic day of skiing!

I've enjoyed your JH steep and deep series. Some of it I just watched without audio at night while my wife slept. Day 2 with your instructor and snowboarder was the best terrain. I think your female classmate was the best skier but seemed to be tired or lost her legs on day 3. The pogo stick on the 1st half of day 3 was just showing off doing 180s and 360s but just cruising on greens and blues. I'm not sure how he helped you improve except by just skiing.

It is really fun to watch a skier who is so playful as the one orange jacket instructor. Both orange jackets instructors were very good skiers. It is easy to be an arm chair quarterback but i did feel the red jacket instructor was teaching beyond his skiing level. Also the orange jacket instructors both were out skiing the class.( the class was way behind) While you were doing a great job of carving on the groomers they were too far behind to copy so they were just skidding along. Yes, i know the camp was for deep and steep but it never hurts to help where you can. On the steep and deep the one student would turn his skis and body into the new turn at the same time.(just getting him to put the shoulders down the fall line would have been a great help to him. I noticed the lady was in more of a squat position that stacked position. However, I do give them a lot of credit as they never backed down and would always try. The camera guy was great. I'm not trying to be rude in any remarks, just called it the way I seen it.

Getting a chance it looks like to get some great insight from maybe the best skier in Jackson; Andrew Whiteford on the tram ride up - well worth it.

Love your videos. Almost like being there. Rock Springs looks amazing. I was wondering how heavy or light the snow was back in there. I looked like they were having trouble in the deeper snow (except the instructors). Didn't see much instruction going on in the rock spring section. I took a steep and deep lesson once where all we did was follow the instructor and watch him ski..no teaching went on. An expensive afternoon not learning anything. Next time I go to Jackson, I'd love to get a guide to take me to Rock springs.

Dam must be nice to be able to afford lessons like this, only thing I can afford is RUclips and be sneaky and follow some group lessons on the mountain and act like I’m resting but paying attention to what the instructor is saying haha

Last run in Rock Springs looked like a lot of fun. Looking at the three days, did you ever go down the Hobacks? When the snow is good, they're incredible.
