My first time listening to this Shaykh. And he is very good. I never really understood the Istikharah prayer. It sounded mysterious to me. Now it sounds like it should be apart of the life of every worshiper. Thanks!
masha allah. He is very clear and after a lot of searching, I finally found someone who made me understand the whole concept and how to of istigaara. Jazaaka allahoe gheiran!
Very informative video and well explained lecture on this very important supplication for our everyday affairs. SubhanAllah, May Allah SWT preserve this sheihk and reward him blessings for helping educate us on this matter. Ameen.
Jazakallahu Khairan Shaykh it was a very informative lecture. I feel it has covered all the formalities and has covered all grounds regarding Istikhaarah. May Allah (SWT) be pleased with you and this talk inshaaAllah. Ameen
Assalamu'alaykum wrt wbt. JazakAllahukhayran katheera Shaykh Abdul Nasir and those involve in the video making :) Loving this! May Allah reward Shaykh, team members and thos who continue to share the ajr many folds of khayr in return ^___^
About 11 years ago I attended Sheikh Abdul Nasir Jangda 's course on The meaning of Salah. a very detailed course on Salah , meaning of each word we say and the action to make a successful Salah. I would love to attend he same course and hope you can repeat that course which will help so many people. please get in touch. Tell me how I can access the same course.
MashaAllah a very good video and very helpful thank you Shaykh. Now i have a clear picture what istikharah is all about. However i do have a question. What if you are not leaning towards any side of the options that you are considering. You're really not sure. Can you just go ahead and do istikharah?
When the sun is actually rising, i.e. you can actually see the sun physically peeking over the horizon. A person should wait a certain period of time after the sun has risen before praying any extra prayers. Also, when the sun is setting, i.e. when you can see the sun still physically touching the horizon. A person should also be careful praying extra prayers right before sunset. Once the sun has completely set, i.e. the sun is no longer visible, you can pray Maghrib
This is so clear and informative. I have been debating to do an istekhara, after listening to your lecture i feel more content to finally do it. However, i have 1 question... how many days do we do it for? Do we have to do it for 3 days in a row? or just one day.
asalam alaikum! :) Just like how he has explained, Istikhara prayer is just like ANY other prayer! :) Therefore, you keep praying it until you feel completely confident with your decision. There is no specific number of days to pray istikhara. You can pray it ANY time, and ANY number of times you like UNTIL you feel confident. :) And Allah knows best!
for istikhara should we follow our feelings or see how the events unfold. what if u have a bad feeling about a decision but things are working out in favour of the decision ...what should we do
Then I would check the reasons for my bad feelings...cuz logically if something is going towards the favor then that automatically makes us feel at ease...then again as explained by the imam here the dua itself is asking for Allah to make it easy n pleasing for us. Plz don't overthink or overcomplicate something that's really not meant to be.
This is how the result of ISTIQARAH plays out: 1. YOU BECOME PLEASED, WITH WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO DECIDE UPON. So once you become pleased the next thing is to take actions, start to take steps to do that thing. So... 2. IF DOING THAT THING IS EASY FOR YOU, then there you have it, that is the answer to your istiqarah, that means there is khayr (goodness) in that decision for you then continue with taking steps to get that thing done. We have to be pleased with it and it has to be easy for us. 2 things involved. So if it is easy for us AND we are pleased with it then we should know that that is what ALLAH azawajal has chosen for us. We should relax and know that khayr (goodness) is in the decision for us. If we are pleased with a decision and doors are closing on implementation (that is, if implementation becomes difficult) then that means we shouldn't continue with that decision. If we aren't pleased with it but then the implementation is easy then that means we should abort mission and we shouldn't continue with that decision. Because the dua'a says: if this decision is good for me then make me pleased with it (1) AND make it easy for me (2) THEN bless it for me (3). Those two things: PLEASURE AND EASE are where you find the result of your istiqarah, if one is missing then don't go ahead with the decision. The dua'a says turn it away from it and turn me away from it IF is BAD for me. If you find it difficult to reach (I.e implement) then that means ALLAH is turning it away from you. And if you find out that you aren't feeling pleased with your decision then that means ALLAH is turning YOU away from it. The dua'a also says if it good for me make it easy for me, make me pleased with it and bless it for me. So there you have the answer to your istiqarah.
Alhamdulillah so informative this is the first time i have listened to this shaykh may Allah(swt) reward him in both the worlds Ameen! I do have a question though i performed Istikharah 22yrs ago for marriage then went ahead with it to a practicing man i thought. But my marriage has been full of trials.
Dear sister, maybe Allah allowed this trial to be in your life, so you get the chance to practice patience through prayer and good deeds, so Allah can reward you for it all immensely Insha'Allah. When things are hard, just remember, the best of people (the prophets, their wives, and companions) were tested wid very very difficult trials. Coz Allah loved them best. And planned for them the best of rewards. This life and all its trials are very temporary. May Allah make this life easy for you. And guide ur better half. He alone can give guidance. All we can do is try, be a gud example, and make sincere dua. And expect reward from Allah SWT alone. Insha'Allah, Allah never disspoints His beloved slaves. I pray Allah gives you the best in both the worlds. Ameen.
@naarakyuu I'm not sure, I'd say ask a scholar, but to be on the safe side use the method that the sheikh talks about. I'm not going to go into the discussion because I'm obviously not a scholar, but from the Mufti I talked to, he said: Islamqa is a website that takes hadith out of context and presents them. For example, I saw a post from them saying that people can drink water while standing, while that's against the sunnah. You can only drink zamzam water standing. So he took it out of context
We pray fajr before the sun appears on the horizon. We pray maghrib after the sun disappears from the horizon. It is forbidden to pray when the sun has not completely risen from the horizon, and forbidden to pray before the sun completely sets.
May Allah spreads Islam to every nook and corner of the earth. I'm sorry to disagree with u brother, the Salatul Istikhara starts after u have finished choosing the most suitable option (which is ONE only) in consultation with a knowledgeable person (s). Once u have chosen the option, u go for 2 rakat of the Salatul Istikhara followed by the Dua-e-Istikhara. Because this procedure is supported by the glorious Qur'an in Sura Al Imran verse number 159, wherein Allah Says, "...and consult them in the affairs; and when you have made up your mind for any thing, then put your trust in Allah. Undoubtedly the trustful are dear to Allah".
How does one differentiate and ignore a slighy doubt from actual doubt? For some the moment they feel doubt it grows and it doesnt necessarily mean they want to go against Allah swt decree
I just have a question? if its about marriage and already things are not good between two families, so obviously answer for Istikharah won't bring confident in conclusion because already we made our mind that this or that person is not good for our family. Can a mother or father do istikhara for their children or everyone has to do on their own? If a mother or Father did not feel confident after istikhara should a person who suppose to do istikhara for him/her self to make sure about the answer? Please Reply for this
Syeda Afifa Nazar you can read it in any language you want, Allah, of course, understands every language. Allah opens doors and closes doors for whatever you're praying for. Therefore if you weren't meant to get married than family proverbs would escalate for example. You only do istikhara for yourself.
What about its a decision that have to be immediate? You don't have time to make istikharah more than once? And you r still not certain of your decision? Then what do u do?
Just do it once and go ahead with with your decision. If u hv time seek advice from trustworthy individual. Allah will guide you after that i.e. If a certain thing is good for u, doors will keep opening up for u. If it is bad for u, hardles will come yr way and u will be given something better.
whaaaaaaaaaaattttttt????? I heard from another shaykh that the outcome was supposed to be external things either working out easily (meaning go ahead with the decision) or not working out (meaning run the other way quick). I heard that it is not a feeling you get?????
@naarakyuu I'd say after, because during the dua of the istikhara, you're supposed to mention your need. Which you obviously can't do in your prayer or else your prayer will break (Assuming your need is to be addressed in a language other than Arabic). Also, I wouldn't trust IslamQA much, I've been told by a few scholars that it's not a very legit site, so it'd be best to stay away from.
don't judge islam when don't know about it.then if you hate islam or this video, why do you watch and comment on it.Instead of writing nonsense, why don't you go and learn about islam.am sure if you succeed to learn even the basic of islam, you like stop reacting like a big fool.

Can you guys do a video about Hasad please!
May Allaah bless us all with right decisions , May Allaah bless abu maryam Haloue , also the camero lol :D
I burst out laughing at 41:50 when he said "a brother still gotta get married"!

Great
As Salamu Alaykum. Must do it separately.
is it normal for feelings to fluctuate
can we combine more than 1 issues in 1 solat? or it is better to do separately? please advice
Pls sir which time to pray Istikharah

can we do istikhara to get answer for all your question?
Do you always get the right answer about a question
if i wanted to do a ISTIKHARA about a guy if he is ok or no
would it always give me rite answer?
42:00 Yes, this brother still gotta get married inshallah! :]
What about its a decision that have to be immediate? You don't have time to make istikharah more than once? And you r still not certain of your decision? Then what do u do?

و عليكم you all
Before the sun rise
Thank you
Wait, so you pray Istikhaara after two sunnah raka'ats? Like, okay, so you pray Zuhr, then you pray two sunnah raka'ats then istikhaara?
No istikhaara is itself 2 raka'ats of nafal
whaaaaaaaaaaattttttt????? I heard from another shaykh that the outcome was supposed to be external things either working out easily (meaning go ahead with the decision) or not working out (meaning run the other way quick). I heard that it is not a feeling you get?????
Philosophy doesn't mean tangible or even remotely right. All of it is sheer speculation.
And if you are on your period and want to do istikhira?
Disappointed how dreams were takin lightly, dreams sometimes follows after istakhara
27:04 --- ROFL ;'D

He is being too repetitive otherwise alhumdullillah
very useful but muslims talk too much about 10 min things
too much bla bla bla not concrete explanation to the point!
1. Critical analysis of situation
2. Seeking council (ask ppls opinions)
3. Istikhara
